No way you can't 1280 x 800 is the highest resolution offered

I thought so, hm weird. Ok never mind, thanks for checking this for me mate.
I think i’ll leave it that way until series 5000 comes out on mac :D

You don't have your 23" display ?

Yeah, i have but i’m not really a fan of having multiple display setups around me.
Like to have things simple. My friends here are also confused about why i refuse to do so. :)

If you start with 2 displays you'll never come back to one, IMHO your friends are very cleaver :D, and you are only at 10 or 15 euros away from 2 displays (the price of dp/dvi adaptor)

One more thing :D, you can if you want disconnect your 30" before starting MP and when you think windowserver has started you connect your 30" onto DVI port and voilà :)

One more thing :D, you are not obliged to disconnect physically your 30", you just switch it off before starting MP and switch it on when you think windowserver has started and voilà :)

Hey, that’s a good idea! I’ll try that. :)

Haha, yeah, we’ll see. :D

IMveryHO, for 30" connected to DP/DVI port at 1280 x 800, it's a matter of EDID contained within PROM of the display:

30" EDID has two descriptors,

#0 : 1280 x 800 at 59,910Hz

and

#1 : 2560 x 1600 at 59,860Hz

Dual link use #1, single link #0

20" EDID has one descriptor,

#0 : 1680 x 1050 at 59,883 Hz

Have you tried this app with 30” connected to DP?

These information are display passport, they don't change according to environment, IMHO descriptors are natives resolutions.

Did you try to capture your 30" EDID?

I do this with this app?
Yeap install it and

after go to "System Preferences"

you'll see a logo within "others", click on it, a window pops up,

click onto the logo, a new window pops up and click on the top right of this last window "export EDID"

You'll have the birth date of your display:eek:

Popopopo mine is old but younger than yours :D :D

Haha, that could be the reason i paid for it less than the price of 24 LED. :D

Well i don’t see any dead pixels around or any other malfunctions, besides
i can easily change it for 24” LED which i certainly won’t do. :D

30" is a good size for screen, + 24 " = the best, you'll have to update your signature.

I have to go, bye and good luck.
