So a quick update from me since I had unpaired my AirTag from the 13 Pro and didn’t pair at all with my 13 Pro Max in fear of unexplained battery drainage.

But I’m travelling since last week and wanted to use the AirTag for tracking my luggage as I go from place to place and change to various flights.

So after a fresh pair with my new 13 Pro Max I haven’t seen any battery drainage at all.

Or it maybe that the battery life on the Pro Max is so good that I’m not feeling the drain.

What does your battage Usage stats indicate for background usage

Find my doesn’t come in the top 10 apps. Not even top 15 apps.

It has been exactly 7 days including today.

I decided to give it another try after a few months and new iOS versions. Enabled the "find my network" again...

Used it for a couple of days. FindMy was using 20-30% of battery and battery usage on 13PM almost doubled.

I disabled it this morning again and everything is back to normal.

Too bad.

This is happening for me as well. Seeing Siri and Find My taking up a ton of battery. I have a bunch of Apple devices so troubleshooting has been near impossible. Have tried turning off Find My, restoring my iPhone and iPad from backups, etc. No success.

If it's not Find My, then it's Siri causing drain. Getting pretty frustrated.

A few weeks ago I noticed Find My appearing near the top of the list with high t% during many individual hours. However the actual battery decline by graph didn't seem like much.

Now starting a few days ago, I too see Siri at/near top of list frequently when not really seen there before.

I’ve noticed over the last few nights my battery seems to be draining!
Has Apple acknowledged there is an issue? I’ve had my AirTag since release but never had the battery drain until now.

How can i convince the iStore to refund my Airtag.

It's a launch day Airtag, lying in my drawer because of excessive battery drain

i don't know your location, in europe you have 4 months to return an unsatisfactory product even opened no questions asked.
I assume none of the above complies with you.
Best is to sell it, ebay, facebook market, friend, something.

Just noticed this issue myself with a new 13 Pro. Might’ve affected my old phone, too, but I didn’t check the battery drain often there.

My wife has an attached AirTag that she wasn’t using, so we unpaired it, hoping that will fix the issue. For whatever reason, her phone doesn’t show any overnight background activity from the Find My app.

It’s not a big deal, but it’s still a bug if the phone isn’t respecting the user’s choice to not participate in the Find My network, or whatever other reason that it’s pinging all night long for.

Yeah unpairing my AirTag was my only solution too. My 13 pro still hasn’t a great battery life though, but better

Turns out the AirTag had nothing to do with in my case. But I also determined that the constant Find My background activity wasn’t actually adding any extra battery drain. My battery dropped the same 2% overnight with or without it (induced by turning off Bluetooth, which isn’t a great long-term solution).

After some more diagnosing, I Think that the issue, for me at least, is with airplane mode. Turn it on and the Find My background activity starts showing up. With it off, it’s gone.

Anyway, I felt better after realizing the battery drain was inconsequential. It more just bothers my OCD, but I’ll get over it.

Question for you guys: Has anyone tried turning off the "Notify when left behind" feature for each of their AirTags? I was just speaking to an Apple rep about this issue, and as I was flipping through the settings — I thought what if that can help? I'll know for sure tomorrow morning, but just wanted to see if anyone's tried that already.

Yea, I concur... Oddly enough it was seemingly working during the day, with only a few intermittent find my logs, but sure enough — all through the night. Stupid thing. It's so funny that apple reps have no record of this issue. :)

And stop neglecting your dog :)))

I'm continuing to have bad background battery drain from the Find My app. It's now impacting my iPhone and iPad whereas before it was just the iPad.

I've tried everything I can think of: unpairing my airtags, turning off Find My for all my devices, turning off sharing my location, removing location services for find my. No change. I even factory reset my iPad. No luck.

The only thing which seems to work is setting my devices to airplane mode, which isn't a practical solution.

See, and I thought that removing the airtags would help...

Anyway I got no more Find My background activity since I reset and removed the battery from my only AirTag. I still got AirPods Pro and a Find My leather wallet which apparently don't trigger the app. iPhone 13 Pro battery life is still not great though.

No, that's the secret ? I already tried re-adding it but the Find My activity just reappears. I'll only use it when I really need it (like attaching it to my keys when I go on vacation)

this makes me really angry. if it was 3rd party — ok, but this is a native product that they've been working on for like 2 years. it shouldn't f—k up the ecosystem...
