Nvmefix 1.0.2 has been released. Has anyone managed to get it to work? I got the kexts to load, but there was no difference in power consumption

You're good to go :)
After firmware update, I was able to install de OS on the 970puls! But is strange, I've run the speed test with the blackMagicDesign tool and first try read speed was 600MB/s and read 1200 MB/s, then i restart the mac and run again the test and now it read at 370-400 MB/s and read at 1200MB/s, why this would be happening? :(

PD: the ssd was timemachine recover, not clean install

It could that the files are being indexed. Leave the MacBook running and test again in a few hours.

That must be the issue, i ran it again and now, is super fast! writting at 1200MB/s and reading at 1400 MB/s
Sir, thanks so much for your help

If anyone have the same issue:
1. Download the firmware for the evo 970plus
2. Export the iso to a usb drive like in this video:
3. Change the old macbook ssd for the new one
4. Put the usb drive with the iso and turn on the mac and hold Option key till the EFI drive appears
5. Follow the instructions of samsung its pretty straight forward
6. Turn of the mac
7. Put a high sierra or newer version of macOS
8. Open disk utility
9. Find the EVO 970plus and click "erase" and select "APFS" format
10. Instal macOS from the installer or time machine backup recovery
11. enjoy :D <3

Macbook is running smooth without issue on macbook pro?

Hey guys, I want to confirm that Sintech M.2 NGFF NVMe works perfectly with WD Black 500GB SN750 M.2 NVMe on my friend's Macbook Pro 13" 2014 without any tweak, sleep and restart is also normal.
I upgraded to the latest Mojave with the old SSD with the assumption that the bootroom is going to updated and support the NVMe SSD. And then I did a clean install with the latest Mojave on the new one.
Hi...How about read/write speed?

I installed the latest MacOS Catalina update (10.5.4 supplemental update) on my mid-2013 MBA (with own SSD), Boot-ROM is still 120.0.0.0.0. Was is supposed to change?

I installed in onto my late 2013 13" Pro and the bootrom did not change either. It stayed at 159.0.0.0 and this MacBook is using an apple ssd, not nvme.

Hi,

Sorry im new here.

May i know what is the difference between this 3 models of adapters?

  • ST-NGFF2013
  • ST-NGFF2013-B
  • ST-NGFF2013-C

I think i might have bought the ST-NGFF2013 from sintech's website without knowing what is the difference. Im trying to upgrade my MBPr 13" 2015

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

i have buy SSD M.2 NVME CRUCIAL P1 1 TO, for my macbook air 2014. my boot rom is 117.0.0.0.0 it's good ?
i have MacOS Mojave installed.

this adapter it's good for my SSD ?:

how can i resolv hibernation problem ?

sorry for my english it so bad.
The adapter looks okay.

You may need to add kapton tape to prevent the logic board's metal shield from touching the adapter's contacts.

Yes, the bootrom is fine but I recommend updating to the latest version of Catalina before installing the SSD. By installing the latest Catalina, it will update the MacBook's bootrom to the latest version.

You can only resolve the sleep problem by installing a modified bootrom.

Your English is fine, no need to apologize.

Thank you for your reply

if i understood correctly, i want to stay on mojave because it is more performment for my macbook :
- I install mojave in the original SSD
- I create a bootable key mojave (i have no file to save)
- I create a bootable key for win 10 (That's why i need more storage, i need win 10 for professionnel app)
- I have to install mojave first, then i can install win 10 with boot camp
- finaly i can install modified bootrom, but where can i find it

You can create a time machine backup of your system, upgrade to the latest Catalina, restore Mojave from your time machine backup.

You would need to extract the bootrom from your MacBook, add the necessary modifications, and flash it back using an efi programmer. There's always a risk that something goes wrong during the flash process. It is easier to disable hibernation and shut down when not using your MacBook.

I prefer to do a clean installation, even if i have to loss all my data.

in the description of this product, it is written that if one of these ssd is used: Samsung 970evo, HP EX900 920 950, SanDisk extreme Pro M.2 NGFF and Lexar NM600 you wont have a sleep probleme.

would the problem come from the firmware of the ssd nvme ?

A 2014 Air will have a sleep problem and it does not matter which nvme drive installed in a 2013 or 2014 Pro/Air. The nvme drive's firmware cannot solve the sleep problem. It's up to Apple to fix it.

I Installed an HP ex900 and Intel 600p into a 2015 Air and there were no sleep problems because the Air is a 2015 model.

I installed the Lexar nm600 into a 2014 Air and there were sleep problems so I disabled hibernation (deep sleep).

Problem comes from incomplete support for sleep on nvme drives. The 2015 Pro and Air don't have sleep problems.

You can install the latest Catalina release and then use a Mojave installer to wipe and install Mojave. Mojave will run on a Catalina bootloader.

From my experience the latest Mojave will install the latest Boot ROM version, same as latest version of Catalina. So just install latest version of Mojave and you should be fine. I posted the link a few pages ago to show you the latest version of the Boot ROM for your machine or just search on Google. Also, the first post provides most of all the information you need. Perhaps we should update it with the list of boot roms?

I had the latest release of Mojave on my MacBook late 2013 13" and upgraded to Catalina 10.15. When I upgraded from 10.15.2 to Catalina 10.15.4, the bootrom in my mid-2014 Pro 13" went from 158 to 159.

That's because you didn't actually have the latest Mojave. I upgraded mine to the latest of Mojave and went from 158 to 159.
