I was just sent to this thread from another forum as I too am waiting for my new iMac i5 from DJ's and getting annoyed that I still do not have it when many others who have ordered after me are getting one (I ordered on the 7th of Nov and know people who have ordered on the 9th and 11th who already have theirs).
I have not called any numbers yet but quite happy to start annoying them about it as well (if enough do it it might send a message).
By the looks of it Apple are looking after there own sales through themselves first and making everyone else wait and look bad. Apple at the end of the day are probably to blame for this and we should be taking it out on them as well (no matter how magical there OS is).
Anyone having issues and getting the run around should post here and we should get a list of everyone who is getting shafted by this. We should all then sign and send a letter or something to Apple and DJ's. These sort of things are best done in numbers I feel.
P.S this is my first post on here and it was a bad way to have to post like this. But I am just so mad at DJ's and Apple for the lack of information I have received and the fact I still do not have my order after nearly a month I had to post.
Howdy and thanks for standing up and being counted. What DJs and Apple are doing to us is very unfair and you are correct, we can do something about it.
The root cause of the problem lays with the Buyers at DJs and the Apple account managers. If they work together they can get apple to supply the retail channels with imacs. As Apple has put various parts of the retail channels in constrainment the buyers are just doing what they are told and only telling DJ customers when they officially complain.
Next Byte are part of the retail chain aswell, albeit higher volume sellers. They managed to release stock, and so has a few other apple resellers..
I wold strongly suggest that everyone does post here to let others know of your frustration. In the first instance forget calling apple, they will not help you. You can try calling yours sales rep, but they will regurgitate the misinformation that the channel partner enquires ppl tell them.
If you want to do something serious about this, you can goto the david jones website, and log a complaint. Someone from there will call you back in a few hours asking for details. they are in sydney. As you read above they did speak to the buyers but they would not do anything for me. Be strong here and let them know that you know people are getting them shipped directly etc..
Before they hang up on you, Ask for the address for where to address a formal complaint that will also be forwarded to apple complaints.
You will be given an address (level 7m of some building which i guess is their head office).
If a few more people do this it will send them a signal how pissed off we are about this.
Prepare to write the formal letter of complaint, if you dont know how to do it, take advice from someone who does.. State the facts only, dont get too emotional, etc. Id wait to send it until you have a clear head, or a few days if we get enough ppl calling in to complain.
Anyway, ive rambled on enough, let me know your thoughts.
