Waiting for Quad Core 27" iMac - Australia

Congrats Dronus, and all the others down under who are starting to see movement on their systems. Its well past about time. I am sending this message from my I7 right now and it is truly amazing. No issues that I can find yet so I am thrilled. Reading all your posts gave me a ton of respect for your position. For the future I certainly wont forget apples rotting (b**s**t) business practice to make us either wait without and end in sight, or be forced into cancelling and ordering online.
My wife and I don't really need those I-phones for Christmas anyways and Light room is probably better for light duty photo editing anyways.....

COD4 - I actually had to stop and think about which game it was too - its been so long since i bought it....
we are going to see which method yeilds better results...

yep the google android phones will be out early next year so keep an eye on them. They will be unlocked and only available at resellers for a nice change.

Crikey, im lucky to have 20gig of crap on my 60gig laptop drive. Im guesing with the new mac ill be able to store and process more photos, and the new sony camera is taking like 7meg ea photos so it will all add up.
4TB is insane!
looking to upgrade too.. 3x1TB + 2x1.5TBs are looking pretty cheap of late!

I am pleased to announce, no cracked screen, no flickering, no dead pixels, no yellow tinge and the hard drive is so peaceful I had to check it was running! (touch wood)
It is just so amazingly fast and the screen is such a delight to look at, I am just breathless looking at it. An absolute work of art.
I won't bore you with any more details, I'm just glad after all the horror stories I have read on these discussion forums that none are true for me.
And I actually have (drum roll) .......a perfect machine!

I ordered mine from the Westlakes store. I didn't get to call today, right after I posted I got called into work. But, I'm defiantly calling after work tomorrow, and then ill let you know if mine is PFS too.

My i5 turned up this morning, ordered during black friday sales in Nov.
It's a week 45 machine, so it would seem Apple SYD still have stock of week 45 machines. I'm not sure why it took 10 working days to ship from SYD.
Anyway, to anyone waiting for their QC imac to turn up, don't stress. Even though mine is week 45, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. It's perfect. No tinge, no flicker, no chips, no finger prints, and not DOA.
Initial impressions:
- The 27inch is noticeably wider than the 24 inch imac.
- The screen seems to sit lower than 24 inch imac. Might need to find something to raise it higher.
- Speakers are much better sounding than 24 inch imac.
- Magic mouse is kind of cool.
- Wireless kb has no USB ports so I have to reach around the back to connect USB memory stick.
- imovie is so FAST and smooth!
- Screen seems clearer than 24 inch imac

Yay, my order for an i5, direct from apple went from "not yet shipped" to "Prepared for Shipment" to "Shipped, delivery 15th (tomorrow)". Original delivery was est 21st Dec so thats almost a full week early. after waiting almost 2 months now on my reseller order, it's such a relief knowing it'll be here tomorrow.
