Waiting for Quad Core 27" iMac - Australia

My DJ order from the 31/11 has shipped sometime last night aswell !! 46 days after i ordered it!

Is yours like this:
Shipped on: Dec 14, 2009 via Eagle ASIA PACIFIC HOLDINGS

I cant click on the tracking link though, ill try it again later...

Thats exactly like mine. 49 days after I ordered it.
Unable to use the tracking number as it doesn't work. Furthermore, I am unable to find any tracking facility on the Eagle ASIA PACIFIC HOLDINGS website.:confused:
Anyone have any ideas on how this system works?

I did some googling and people seem to have recieved ipods using this courier and didnt experiance any delays. They also mentioned that they could not track the orders until they reached AU and the local courier (Startrack express or TNT) took it. They did mention that Apple customer support can see the tracking info somehow..

Hopefully they are flying as we speak and being looked after :)

Rejoice and sing! :D Mine has shipped too! Just got off the phone to a guy at DJ's (Didn't seem to impressed that I was calling).
Now we just have to wait until they arrive in stores, and then our hands!
Anyone know how long it will take, the guy at DJ's said 2-3 weeks... which sounds ridiculously long.

But still, either way, I'm happy it finally shipped! :)
 
ATI Radeon HD 4670

27" "box-stock" unit (3.06GHz Core2Duo). Shipped November 3rd from a distribution center in Dallas. No issues. Any "discoloration" I see is resolved if I simply angle the screen properly. Could it be that some folks just don't have their iMacs properly positioned? (I know this problem is real but I just don't seem to see it on mine.)

My order was shipped yesterday on eagle. I spoke with jb and they seemed to think I could have it by the weekend. Here's hoping!

Have you got any more info on your order status page? I still cant track mine and it doesnt say much apart from

Was hoping it would update this morning. i was out fishing last night and i could see freight planes landing at the airport, its sad that the first thing that came into my head was "I wonder if my imac is on that plane"..

Mate with all the other **** that has gone on, you didn't really expect to be able to track the shipping did you? Cmon, really? Wake up to yourself man. This is just another way to keeping you in the dark, just a little longer. Why start giving you meaningful information now?

ROFL.. Im living vicariously through the shipping details of the other orders :)

Wouldnt it be nice if it arrived this week ... :)
 
Well, mine arrived yesterday.

Ordered an i5 (stock) direct from apple on 3rd, after giving up on DJ's (ordered late oct from them).

Initially Est Shipping date 17th, delivery 21st
Shipped 14th (from sydney ???) and arrived yesterday.

In perfect condition.

No Cracked screen, no dead/stuck pixels, no yellow tinge, no screen flicker.

It runs fast and quiet. I LOVE IT.

Finally something good to have come out of all this hassle.

Ahh the good times. Havnt seen Miranda.Kerr about for a while, wonder if she is still following the thread?

Has anyone with the DJ's orders been offered the $50 off (or any other discounts, freebees?) My DJ's salesperson knows nothing about it. Ive heard rumors of ppl getting 10% off or free applecare. I just spoke to my sales guy, he was pretty happy the orders are being shipped and reassured me he will call me the second it comes in :)
 
Wow, talk about drama in trying to get a machine.

You guys who are waiting have far more patience than I do. I would have canceled my order after waiting as long as you have.

Report on whirlpool saying DJ's in melbourne expecting a shipment of 27" imacs tommorrow. Poster couldnt confirm if it includes Quad Cores..

I also went to DJ's today, spoke to Andrew the apple guy there (always helpful).
He told me that yes some of the early custom orders have shipped from Sydney, and if they haven't arrived today (he was going to head down to the delivery area after I left to check) then they should definitely be in before the end of the week. which is great news for all early purchasers!

I will post again if he does call me back today....

And yes, this does include Quad-cores (but only custom orders, if you ordered stock standard, sorry sounds like you still have to wait till Jan)
 
I rang apple while i was out at lunch and asked if they could provide any information about the status of my eagle tracking number, or failing that, in his experiance how have orders gone in the past with this company.

He flatly refused to answer my questions and rather rudely told me that i should call DJ's if i want to know anything about my order. Real helpful he was... not! I hope the apple care techsupport people are better, and dont tell me to call my DJ's sales rep if i have a technical problem with my imac!
 
anybody successfully installed 64-bit windows 7 on their imac? are there any ways around it? the install goes fine for me but when the desktop is meant to show i am only given a black screen :(

Never fear sonny. I was looking into this before I embarked on the procedure, and I found this useful blog.

Seems they have found the solution, and are able to get it working in bootcamp just fine. Seems a lot of people get the black screen, this is how to fix.
