Anyone know if I can go to an Apple Store and have them downgrade me from the beta on the spot/the same day, or does my AW need to get sent to a repair center for them to do that?

I think it will need to go to Apple. I’d recommend troubleshooting first. It’s been solid for me but looks folks are having mixed results. Did you upgrade yours or just asking to be safe? Since you are on the fence, I’d also recommend you waiting to see if Beta 3 comes out next week and read some impressions.

Is it that bad?

The watchOS beta has been fine, no major issues so far. It’s because I want to downgrade from the iOS 18 beta back to iOS 17. watchOS 11 won’t work with iOS 17.

I’m gonna hold out until next week’s beta 3. Was just curious if I had to send it in and be without it for a few days or could have it done immediately at an Apple Store. Gotta keep those streaks 😂

watchOS beta 2 was good with battery until today. Charged up to 71% 3 hours later I’m down to 35%. No workouts, no cellular data on watch and no music off watch. Nothing changed this past week. Hopefully beta 3 fixes this.
Yes I’ve had those weird occurrences happen once or twice. Both were fixed by a restart.

When you start a new release with a lot of unfinished parts, you can't focus on performance and energy efficiency ...
When you develop, you always try to do your best to have optimized code, but the first priority is to have working code and all features available.
when I wrote software, my Alpha and Beta code was also full or error traps and logs that would affect performance.

Few hours with Beta 3. Obviously still too early to judge the battery, but so far it seems a bit more fluid and polished. Hopefully this fixes those random battery drains without introducing any major issues.

WatchOS beta 3 here. Can anyone turn system haptics off and actually have them turn off? It's been an issue for me since the first beta.

EDIT: Turning off haptic alerts was moved to the haptics tab and is now an "OFF" selection above the Default and Prominent choices.

Battery still doesnt seem great with DB3. AW9 41mm. Back on 10.5 I think I would end the day around 50% with doing two outdoor walk workouts (1 hour each) and just regular daily notifications.
With DB2 and DB3 it usually ends around 25-35%

Battery is really, really bad on Beta 3. Took my Ultra off charge at 08:00 this morning and had to put it back at 16:55 as it only has 16% left. Not done any workouts or anything, live activities disabled. So 10% every hour.

I had terrible battery the first day of beta 2 then it got better. Like lost 20% in an hour bad. Then like 30-40% per day good.

I have no issues with my update to watchOS 11 B3 on my AWU gen. 1. I updated from watchOS 10, and it went smoothly. I also updated my iPhone 14 Pro to iOS 18 B3, and my iPad Pro gen. 6 to iPadOS 18 B3, and all is working well.

I don't know why some people would have battery issues in B3. My battery is at 84%, and it's been 8 hours of light usage.
