Both my watches are not on any beta program and when I use fitness+ on my Apple TV which is on the latest developer beta it often defaults to the watch I’m not wearing. If you quickly press the play/pause button on the remote it lets you manually select any of your paired devices.

I installed Beta 3 on my AWU and noticed that the settings to control Noise Control (Transparency, Adaptive, Noise Cancellation) when using Air Pod Pros 2 seemed to have been removed. Same with Beta 4.

Anyone noticed this? I can’t see the settings elsewhere and I have sent feedback. Extremely useful setting for when out running in particular.

Battery life on Beta 4 still not great on my Series 9 41mm. Still seems the same as beta 2&3. Its funny my feedback I submitted started at 10 or more reported, then went to 10 or less and now shows none

Running the latest beta, series 9. When I go on a run and track it with activities, once I'm finished, it only shows part of the map. My stats are right, but the map is missing about half my run. This happened with the last beta too.

Has anyone noticed that "Resting Heart Rate" is not being tracked in beta 4? My watch seems not to report this into health, and since I use athletic and watch this stat pretty closely, it stood out to me. Vitals, on the other hand, does seem to be tracking RHR during sleep, but that data doesn't make its way to the RHR graph in Health.

Mine is there.

Mine is all there as well--- iOS18 Beta (PB1) iPhone 15 Plus and Watch OS 11 (beta) series 7

Folks who have been running Beta 4 how is it? I am contemplating jumping in.
Beta 4 has been good for me. Battery life has improved. I do a lot of structured "custom" workouts and haven't seen any bugs.

I'm really enjoying the slight tweaks they made to the custom workout screens. During custom intervals it displays your targets clearly, and the next interval. Previously you would not be able to see targets (only get alerts) and it didn't show your next interval except a "6 of 10" counter between each set.

Since 18.1 beta battery life on the watch has taken a hit, while there was no new beta for the watch. Interesting really that a new beta on the phone affects the watch so much.
Interesting yes, but highly unlikely they are related. Haven't noticed anything on my end moving to ioS 18.1 with the most current beta on the watch.

phone is on 18 and battery on my watch s9 is quite mediocre still. Overnight drain is around 20%, versus 7-8% before

An interesting thing to note about the watchOS betas this year is that they have logging enabled so that sysdiagnose files are more useful to Apple when submitting bug reports (as stated by Lori Hylan-Cho, the Senior Engineering Manager for watchOS). This wasn't the case in previous years, where you'd have to manually install a logging profile for specific features.

Presumably that would be having some minor battery usage impact on the betas.

How bad is the battery life on Beta 4? I have an Ultra 2. Can the battery last all day with a 90 minute workout and playing music from the watch? For example.

Bruh mines still says 10+ related reports… probably this varies by beta as I originally did mines since the first one. Betas 1, 3 and 4 were the only ones where I had to put my Apple Watch Series 6 40mm on the charger more than twice a day.

If you plan on sleep tracking on your Apple Watch during betas expect a higher battery decline, mines dropped to the 60s a few nights which I start with a full charge or around the 85-95% range. Plan to charge your Apple Watch while you get ready for bedtime.

Also y’all, anyone had issues with nightstand mode going horizontally and cropped out when we charge Apple Watch in portrait orientation? My Apple Watch had this bug a few times in watchOS 11 developer beta 4 but it went away after a restart. I use an Amazon Lameeku iPhone and Apple Watch stand where the Watch charges vertically.

I was thinking about taking a break from my Apple Watch for at least a month, if not longer. I've just kind of lost interest in it and want to go back to my old traditional watch for a while. However, I'm a bit reluctant as I've filled my rings consistently every day since March 2017.

I'm curious, how does the new Pause Rings feature work with this? Does it still show the rings as full? Or would they just be completely blank on those days I don't want to wear the Apple Watch? I still plan on being just as active as I've always been, it's habit at this point so it's not like I'm cheating the rings or anything. I just want to experiment without all the extra data collection for a while.

Edit: From what I can see, it just grays out the day. I'm going to try it anyway.
This is why I want an Apple Ring. I can then wear a mechanical watch but still close my rings.

I was running Beta 4 just fine on my AW Ultra 1, however when I upgraded my iPhone 15 PM to the new 18.1 beta to test Apple Intelligence the ambient light sensor on my Ultra 1 no longer works 😅 Night mode no longer activates automatically in pitch blackness and the screen brightness is super bright indoors and very dim outdoors, it also no longer records how many hours I've spent in sunlight (something I used to keep a close eye on).

The iOS beta can definitely affect the watch beta and in really unexpected ways.

In theory there's absolutely no reason the phone should have anything to do with the ambient light sensor in the watch, but it does and it can clearly bug it out... Oh also the brightness control slider in watch display settings does absolutely nothing, not on the watch itself or the phone. You can slide it to the dimmest or the brightest and the watch brightness stays exactly the same.

There should be a new beta out today or tomorrow for at least Watch OS. Hopefully it puts iOS and Watch OS in beta sync and clears your issues.
