I have no issues with my update to watchOS 11 B3 on my AWU gen. 1. I updated from watchOS 10, and it went smoothly. I also updated my iPhone 14 Pro to iOS 18 B3, and my iPad Pro gen. 6 to iPadOS 18 B3, and all is working well.

I don't know why some people would have battery issues in B3. My battery is at 84%, and it's been 8 hours of light usage.
No idea, I've been running beta software for years, so not exactly new to this.

I have been running watchOS11 since beta 1, no issues in any other beta until I upgraded to 3. There are far too many variables at play (phone model, watch model, notifications, live activities etc.) to even start comparing experiences.

Well something really is different between the watches - I'm on WatchOS 10 and not even close to that battery life. My watch has been reset etc. with no improvement and can go around 24 hours now with an hour run and would need to charge before going to bed and tracking sleep

And you are for sure one of them…

Salty much? I was only being sarcastic.

All I am saying is that perhaps this is a you-problem, and not a common problem.

And I fail to see how this is helping anyone that is encountering battery issues.

This is a beta thread of course people are going to report bugs and issues.

It’s not a beta thread, it a battery drain thread…
95% of posts are about battery complaints

Fair point. Maybe, like in the iOS 18 sub forum, we need a specific pinned thread regarding beta battery issues. But in my experience that doesn’t prevent people from posting battery issues in the main beta thread.

Is anyone's Double Tap gesture more sensitive with beta 3?

I'm on Ultra 2 and the Smart Stack comes up way too often and certainly not because I'm double tapping my fingers.

I thought the same thing until I realized it was happening when I was playing some sort of media (Music, Apple TV box playing) and found a setting in the Watch app on the iPhone that enables the Smart Stack to come up every time you play media so I have now turned that setting off. It was on by default I believe as I never turned it on. The Smart Stack isn't popping up at all unintentionally now.

Watch app -> Smart Stack -> Media apps -> Auto Launch

If you are asking whether it's worth buying an Ultra 2 because of new WatchOS 11 functionality, than it's a hard no - it brings almost nothing new to the table.
If you're asking whether it's worth it to install WatchOS 11 beta on your Ultra 2 - still no.

What if I don’t have Apple Watch at all?

I installed the public beta on Tuesday, no dealbreaker issues on my AWU1. Battery life is a bit lower than usual (40-50% left after 24 hours instead of ~60% usually under watchOS 10) but that’s to be expected with a beta anyway.

The jump from watchOS 9 to 10 took a chunk of my battery life anyway (also the battery is getting older), so I kinda expect the same with 11 🙁

If you need it now, Ultra 2 is a great watch. If you don’t need it right now, the new model is just a few months away

Has anyone had trouble getting their watchOS 11 b3 to be recognized by fitness+ workouts on AppleTV tvOS 17?

I just did a couple of workouts and it wouldn’t register the watch. Only my phone, which is on iOS 18b3

I was thinking about taking a break from my Apple Watch for at least a month, if not longer. I've just kind of lost interest in it and want to go back to my old traditional watch for a while. However, I'm a bit reluctant as I've filled my rings consistently every day since March 2017.

I'm curious, how does the new Pause Rings feature work with this? Does it still show the rings as full? Or would they just be completely blank on those days I don't want to wear the Apple Watch? I still plan on being just as active as I've always been, it's habit at this point so it's not like I'm cheating the rings or anything. I just want to experiment without all the extra data collection for a while.

Edit: From what I can see, it just grays out the day. I'm going to try it anyway.
