I don’t want to jinx myself but not only is beta 2 infinitely better in terms of smoothness vs b1, the battery seems much more stable than I experienced at any point on 10.x? This is a series 9 45mm. I just worked out for an hour and lost 10% while streaming music over WiFi, no phone tethered.

Interesting! I took it off the charger at 9am Right after installing. Battery at 100%. I worked out for one hour with it on WiFi tethering, no phone attached, streaming music to AirPods. It’s now 3:30pm and I’m at 65% holding steady.

Mine's been back to good Watch OS 10 levels I believe. More testing needed, but my initial impression is quite solid.

With screen mirroring, is it easier to program intervals for running🤷🏻‍♂️

Is anyone having issues with the new side styles not tracking workouts? I've worked out multiple times this week and still haven't seen the right side update.

Is Home Key working on the watch for anyone on 11b2? I noticed that it's saying it "Ok" but the lock doesn't actually unlock. It works fine on my iPhone with 18b2 though.

Beta 2 has been running very smoothly on my Series 8 so far, battery life same as WatchOS 10 and the widgets are so much better. More details, auto appear when activities are running and also add suggestions. And auto sleep tracking. Very happy with it

Battery life returned to good after I deleted a bunch of third party apps, which I never used to begin with. I only kept Carrot and WorkOutDoors as third party apps on the watch, and they don't seem to be the culprit.

I find out that Modular Ultra drains the battery. But if I choose one with one or two complications, it runs much better.

Just noticed Today that my watch says it was last charged on Sunday at 8.30pm but I know Ive charged it at least twice since then? Overall though my battery life is virtually back to around 36 hours on beta 2 from less than 24hours on beta 1. This is on a Ultra 2.

Update, it's now showing the correct last time charged. So hopefully its just a glitch.

Anyone have a good review (or bad) about using the “rest day” addition? I look forward to having that option but I’m not sure how clunky or smooth it will be to use. I am not updating this year w/ the beta after regretting doing so 1-2 years ago, I forget when but, still enjoy this thread.

Not much to it. If you need a rest day, you open the activity app, adjust your calories to what you want, and it seems to reset 24h later.

Are you adding an effort grading after each workout?
The Workout app adds one other apps don’t, Strava for example, so you have to manually add it on this page, see pic.

It also depends on the type of workout within the Apple workout app. Some will show some will not.

Here’s the 17 types that are automatically calculated (again, remember you can *always* assign a rating to all other workouts):
– Indoor/Outdoor Run
– Indoor/Outdoor Walk
– Pool/Open water swim
– Indoor/Outdoor Cycle
– Hiking
– Elliptical
– Stair Stepper
– High Intensity Interval Training
– Dance
– Kickboxing
– Indoor/Outdoor Rowing
– Cross Country Skiing

Does the new Effort system apply itself to past workouts or is it only new workouts since installing OS11?

I’ve just started a new exercise programme and I’d love to have the extra info and stats, but haven’t updated to OS11 yet as I don’t have a secondary device.

How's beta 2 been for everyone? Considering installing it on my Series 9 alongside iOS 18 beta 2 on my 15 PM, especially with beta 3 (and most likely public beta) right around the corner. Just installed iPadOS 18 beta 2 on my iPad Pro M4 and it's been smooth so far. Might go all in now.

Went for a run today with my ultra 1 on beta 2 and Apple Music from the watch to AirPods Pro 2 would not advance songs after each play. Had to manually press next for each one.

My AW Ultra barely makes it through the day on beta 2. On watchOS 10, I'd end the day with anywhere between 30-50% left, now I notice it's in the red when I put it on the charger (is that 10%?). This is with sleep tracking, eight hours of moving at work, two 45-60 minute cardio workouts, and all of my other watch-focused stuff in between (checking time, messages, unlocking door, etc). It's active for about 23 hours per day.

Still pretty good, but definitely not what it was before.

It's been on and off like that for me in beta 2. There are days the battery depletes fast and days where it's all good. I removed third party complications (mainly Carrot) and sometimes that makes a difference, and sometimes I have no clue what's causing it. Beta 1 was a lot better honestly. We need beta 3.

Anyone know if I can go to an Apple Store and have them downgrade me from the beta on the spot/the same day, or does my AW need to get sent to a repair center for them to do that?
