think you misread they were an hour old i returned to store one hour after purchase. not a battery issue simply would not pair both only left airpod connected anyway i would not use the term genius but refrain from how i would describe 😁 anyway apologies for off topic now back to Apple watch
Mb man… but y’all battery life on watchOS 11.1 beta 4 is great so far. Got through the day with only 65-70% of battery from full. How about yours? Any bricking cases?

The Genius at the Apple Store wasn’t able to provide you a replacement AirPods Pro for the battery issue, right? Apple usually does not directly replace the battery of an individual AirPod due to its enclosed nature making it difficult to cut it open without damaging ribbon cables. Only the earpiece has the area where the two halves split open.
In-store replacement of Airpod's on the spot is challenging, ask me how I know. They either don't offer it and you wait for a replacement in the mail or they are unhelpful.

I have had several replacements. It is much more efficient to use the chat feature in the support. Tell them you have tried everything so they don't put you through the process of elimination on their screen in India. Exaggerate a little, tell them you have unpaired and re-paired several times already. Mention static. If you are lucky, 10 minutes later they will ship you a replacement and a box to ship back the old.

Best bet is to play up static, even if you have a battery issue. It is the path to the least resistance. You have an issue and want a replacement, so it isn't exactly unethical.

I am noticing an nice improvement with this latest beta 4 on my AWU1. I was seeing 3-4% drop per hour on 11 and early 11.1 betas, but it seems to have come back to around 2% an hour.

you need to actually read what i posted i purchased in store then went to coffee shop nearby charged them for an hour after hour i tried to pair them to iphone unfortunately only one would connect i then went back to store immediately so the airpods were less than 2 hours old from purchase the same store personnel immediately said i will have to send them away for engineers to check. so less than two hours old i’m immediately faced with a service scenario not an exchange or refund simply sent for an engineer not in store to check 5 weeks later!!! i received a new pair with no explanation or an apology pretty crap genius service a product less than two hours old !! anyway please get back to watches 😬

Jesus, I totally missed the backstory. I would have lost it. You could not just do a return and buy them again or was it too late since you started the troubleshoot process? In any case, this is BS.

Apple is just a bit on the sensitive side of AirPods returns as they fear for sanitation if the AirPods had been put on before they were returned. But… you can try on the AirPods at an Apple Store. And these AirPods Pro have interchangeable ear tips so they can just put a new one when it gets refurbished if the seal is broken.

It can seem unpredictable at first but it will stabilize over time. I have 11.1 beta 4 on my Apple Watch Series 6, battery life is stable. Did your Apple Watch Ultra last throughout multiple days, and do you use cellular a lot?

So you can’t just return them for any reason, no questions asked, no hassle within 14 days which has been a positive staple for Apple? Good to know.

I don’t use cellular. On watchOS 10, I could get 50 hours straight of usage, but this was with 100% battery health too. WatchOS 11, before beta 4 my watch would go 80-35% or 100-60% over the course of a day, say 12 hours. This would include about an hours worth of outdoor walk workouts.

With beta 4 the same type of day it goes 100-75% or 80-50%, so it is doing much better. Now granted my battery health is down to 91% after 2 years of ownership.

It depends on the nature of the return and if you are doing it at an Apple Store. At an Apple Store a Specialist would check out the item you intend to return, scan the barcode(s) and reimburse the money to an Apple Gift Card or original payment method used to buy the item, e.g. you bought an AW Ultra with your CC then you decided to return/exchange it after trying it on your own for a few days because it was too clunky on you. If you return it via the Apple Store the funds will be reimbursed to your card after the Specialist processes it at the spot. If it is mailing it back by dropping it off UPS or USPS, it can take days but will be reimbursed to your card.

Me neither, my S6 on 11.1 beta 4 is not on cellular either. May be different experience as I wear a gold stainless steel Apple Watch Series 6, today after a morning shift and grabbing lunch + tracking/attending a free yoga session at a community event my watch lasted at 65%, it was fully charged this morning. It is very stable in this beta! iPhone is held off from updating to 18.1 beta 6 as I have to keep it on iOS 18.1 developer 4 due to bugs surrounding beta 5/6 and of course, Apple Intelligence on older iPhones hack.

My watch was from a spring doorbuster deal so I only had it for 4 months, battery health 100% but your Ultra 1 still holds up well!

Y’all beta 5 of watchOS 11.1 developer beta is out since last week. Battery life has been worse than this last beta, had to charge my Watch a lot on the long days.

Also @Grayburn with the Heart analyzer third party heart rate complication, they had a new update on last Friday and somehow the iPhone app didn’t open and crashes upon launch. The Apple Watch app and all complications and widgets on both devices work fine and update correctly. Is it happening on your iPhone as well?

Beta 5 has been horrible for battery. I'm someone who wears my watch almost 24/7 (sleep and all) and it gets low or dies at the most random times of day now lol

Same use case as you, I only charge my Apple Watch when preparing for sleep tracking and showering 🧼 for the most part. I had to whip out my Apple Watch charger at a long day of work last Friday. Random shutdowns… do you own an Apple Watch Ultra or series 6/7/8?

Just updated to beta 5 last night (from 11.0.1) and my S10 lost 25% sleep tracking which is way too high compared to normal. Oddly though, during the day right after updating, it was only sipping battery, losing 20% over 7.5 hours with light to moderate use (35 minute walk, tapping during a 2 hours drive with CarPlay instructions, some messages)

So the heart analyzer app on your iPhone does not crash? Did you update to the latest version in the App Store yet? I assume it has a bug in the iPhone app as it crashes upon launch. 🚀 widgets still update with my current heart rate on it especially complications. I am on the latest beta.

This beta lots of people are saying that battery life is cut down especially if you are an Apple Watch Ultra user. My series 6 had to be charged three times instead of once to a full charge.

Perfectly fine, on the latest version.

I'm not on any beta, phone or watch.

I hope it gets released soon. I need this damn shortcuts bug and find my bug to get sorted out on my AWU2. Spent a lot of money on this watch and these bugs are killing the experience.
