I’m running 11.1 RC (22R582) on my black ultra 2 and I’ve just noticed that the “last charged” isn’t accurate. It’s showing it was last charged to 100% on Sunday, but it was deffo put on charge to 100% last evening.

I’ve restarted several times and I’ve put it on charge again but still the same.

Anyone else?

Are you running iOS 18.2 beta or still on 18.1?

Wow  does not show it correctly ? Are you checking it on the iPhone app? Because on my Apple Watch ⌚️ and iPhone it displays it correctly.

iPhone is running iOS 18.1 developer beta 4 and Apple Watch is on watchOS 11.1 RC.
I was already running watchOS 11.1 beta 5 (22R5575a) - https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/watchos-11-beta-thread.2428813/post-33505361

But as mentioned earlier, the 11.1 RC was showing as '11.0.1' in Software Update on both my iPhone and on the Watch itself. Hence the panic whether it was actually going to install 11.0.1 over the top of 11.1 beta 5 and break things.

My Apple Watch used to be like that in 11.1 beta 5, but after updating to the RC the last charged and the graph is now showing up correctly.

That is a bug, check the build number closely. If it is not matching please report it on the Feedback Assistant app.

Is anyone having trouble with the ECG app on developer 11.1(22R585)? im using an Apple Watch Series 7 stainless and its just not letting me get a reading. I called apple support and they claim it's a beta issue but I think it might be a defective crown button.

I have the same watchOS 11.1 RC on my Apple Watch Series 6 gold stainless 40mm, and I'm still able to take an ECG. Have you tried restarting your Apple Watch? If the problem persists, check to make sure the digital crown is clean. Your wrists, hands, and the back crystal and digital crown must be free of debris and not be wet, and the watch should be free of damage. If the digital crown is stuck or hard to turn, it may be defective. If so, book a Genius Bar appointment to have it checked out.

Thanks for the tip, i think it might have been a dirty crown, it’s working a little bit better after cleaning it with water and a tooth brush. If it still acts up i will set up a Genius Bar appointment.

If that doesn't work, you should contact AppleCare by phone or iMessage chat and let them know if they can't help you resolve the issue. This is also a good way to avoid going to the Apple Store if you don't live close to one. You can also contact me; I'm here to help you with your Apple Watch, iPhone, and other Apple products. Make sure to use a soft-bristled brush when cleaning the crown; a cosmetic or fine-haired art brush won't scratch the stainless steel casing of your Apple Watch. Be especially careful with the gold or graphite stainless steel models, as you could damage the coating if you scrub too hard.

It appears to me that Apple removed the hold side button then hold crown to force quit an app in 11.2 beta. If you swipe and remove the app from the multitasking/dock screen, when you reopen the app it starts fresh. I guess they decided to make it like iOS now.

Never tried that gesture before, but since watchOS 10 introduced Smart Stack it impacted how we use the Digital Crown and side buttons. Control center has to be accessed by the side button, and since that is occupied, you have to access the dock via double click on the Digital Crown.

Yes but until this new beta if an app was on the screen you could force close it by that method.

Ohhh I see I am on 11.1 RC so that does not apply to me. I tested it out and the gesture works to force close an app on my Apple Watch Series 6.

A little off topic, after installing 18.2 B2, I had a notification/solicitation to continue AppleCare+ on my AW1 as it’s hitting the two year mark. $4.99 a month. I’m guessing the monthly continuation is something fairly new.

Until something dramatically newer or better comes out, I plan on keeping the AW1. Not a huge extended warranty guy, but they have their place if priced right. Apple also makes it easy to use too.

It prompts you right after the initial 2 year plan expires. I received the prompt last week for my AWU1.

I had a similar experience when I updated to a certain beta (watchOS 11 RC). I received an email from Apple reminding me that I had almost passed the two-month window to purchase AppleCare+ for my Apple Watch in mid-September. I had purchased my watch in mid-May of this year, so Apple's reminder came very late.

Yeah, I just noticed my AWU that is 2 years old dropped from 91% to 86% on 11.2 beta. Pretty big swing, even wilder for yours.
How could this happen?! Did it go back to its original state when it dropped battery health in updates before?

My Apple Watch Series 6 had to be charged a lot yesterday; it went down from full to 45% from morning to mid afternoon.

It stayed at 100% for the first year, and has now dropped 14% over the past year. It has been on 91% probably for the past 2 months.

That’s a huge difference here. If it was an Apple Watch Series 7 or earlier model from launch day or during its release cycle I would understand why it is that low; various of my friends with Apple Watch Series 4 to 6 had their battery health around that range or lower.

fwiw my now put to rest in the draw S7(2021 December purchase) capacity JUNE 2024 84% ---> late September 2024 68% (no longer lasts more than 8 hours). this has the hallmarks of a energizer lithium AA battery once the capacity hits a sweet spot the drop off is rapid . another 3 year disposable Apple product and yes i could source a battery replacement at a cost but local apple store sales geeks aggressively push for an upgrade purchase which i understand but it does dampen your outlook that with any apple smart gadget 3 years time you could be looking for a replacement. I have a Ultra 2 purchased last december im hoping the 100% capacity remains until mid 2025 because once it begins to drop the inevitable upgrade path is imminent . that said i am realistic the watch does a lot it's not just a watch so im not going to compare it to a timepiece but somewhere down the line i hope to see a solid end user or localised replacement battery solution as opposed to the forced upgrade..

Looking at the update size, I guess there are many new things related to the AI but probably they are not unlocked yet. I think they are waiting for the final release of iOS 18.2.
I can say, I am very impressed with the new AI driven Siri. It actually answers everything (like Alexa) instead of giving you a link to the web. She can also control everything. "Siri, end my workout" is so convenient.
