I'm really offended Apple approved this app. I am the biggest capitalist but we have to draw a line somewhere.

Who's "we"? Who decides where the line is, you? What, is $99.99 too much for this app? $9.99?

The developer obviously has their own agenda with this too; as others have said it's more than likely a publicity stunt. So, now, factor that into the price, and the resulting sales for the "real" apps. So, seriously, what's the "correct" price for this app, that fits below your personally perceived "line"?

Apple said from the beginning that developers could charge as much or as little as they want; they'll take 30%, developer gets 70%. The store can obviously handle that level of pricing for whatever reason. If the developer is clever/stupid/greedy/whatever enough to charge $999.99, then shouldn't the dynamics of the consumer market be allowed to sort this out?

I think what is even more pathetic is someone trying to actually say they bought it. We all know you didn't buy this so just say you copied it like everyone else is doing. Ive got the icon and the pic too. The only way you can prove this is to show us the info from the i in the bottom corner or show an image clip of the purchase history or the app actually being in iTunes. If you can show us all 3 then someone might believe you.

Whatever. The guy is either a douche, moron, or both

How to knock-off this pointless app!

heh. For those of whom want to see how this pointless app looks like in your iPhone, just save the screenshot found on the article page, and then view as if it was a photo. :p . By the by, it looks ugly.

I don't know where to start. I am appalled, disgusted, horrified, shocked, distressed, outraged, scandalized. I feel really bad about this application.

Whatever. The guy is either a douche, moron, or both

You guys are getting really worked up over an app you're not forced to buy...

I think you all need to take a deep breath and get your priorities straight.

Everyone who is getting outraged at this, just think about the outcry if apple didn't allow it. It's not breaking any rules, or violating any TOS, so to not allow it would be seen as apple being draconian. Can't have it both ways.
We all knew there would be good and bad apps from the off, like any new marketplace.

Folks - it's an application for the iPhone. That alone justifies the price premium. Well worth it in my book.

And just for proof, here is the secret message one gets when purchasing it:
A fool and his money are soon parted.

You dont understand. I dont have a picture, I dont have an app, I didnt even copy the receipt. My old man is going to be really p@@@@ed

Simple. Buy it again. If you can afford one, you can certainly afford another. Besides - your money is going to support a developer who is smart enough to understand the concept of high quality and price points. Think about how much potential money other developers a losing by not pricing their apps accordingly. I'd easily pay at least $30 for the flashlight app.

Sadly I am not rich, I had one click download and accidently bought it by mistake! Damn you Apple!

Gee thanks for the advice, but I had grown especially attached to that particular diamond. It really spoke to me.

Ok people who keep posting pics saying "Hey guyz I bawt teh rich app!" "woopz guyz I axidently hit by app, uh ohhh"

Its getting old, everyone knows you can just save a pic of the diamond.

And the people who are mad that Apple approved this app are just jealous that they didn't think of it first haha.

I know, man. But sometimes, you just have to let it go. Besides, you can always tell people that your new diamond actually cost $1998. And you can rightfully put those jealous peons with the lowly $999 app in their places.

if you really did buy it. (most likely you didn't) you can just download it again for free. You can download any app you purchased as many times as you want.

Hey Stevie-boy...come on out here and personally kiss my backside and I might give care about your store again. This takes the cake. Apple is officially more retarded than Microsoft.

Okay...let me get this straight. Apple is more retarded than Microsoft because a third-party developer is selling a program you aren't willing to pay for? Not sure I see your logic.
