Playing The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom at a leisurely pace. It's good, but I'm nowhere near as hyped on it as most people seem to be. I dunno, something about it just seems a little off. Its not a bad game by any stretch and I would say that Breath of the Wild is in my Top 10 of all time and this is just as good as that, but I still don't feel like it's that interesting of a game. Go here, get a Korok seed or shrine power up, repeat. Same thing over and over. No real story to keep me interested, just the bog standard 'Save Hyrule from Gannon' thing.

Oh well. Maybe I've just moved on from this series. No biggie.

Tell me you didn't do the dragon tears without telling me you didn't do the dragon tears

I did all of them first. Towers and then tears to try and breathe some life into this thing. The awful voice acting isn't helping this much.

Don't get me wrong, I know it's a great game and I'm glad people love it. It's just not doing anything for me personally.

Unfortunately I had to take a brief hiatus from TOTK because the fan on my switch stopped working and it had to be repaired. But shoutout to Nintendo for fixing it and sending it back in only a week, completely for free out of warranty! They're giving Apple's customer service a run for their money.

It's funny I've had the opposite experience. Got so bored with botw but I can't stop playing totk.

My kid loves the game, but this game isn't going to have the same level of fun/experience for everyone. I have a switch sitting in my office collecting dust... I don't remember when it was last turned on. I asked my kid if I should play it... and he said right away, "You won't like it, it's not your type of game."... LOL He knows me and how I am in gaming. He's just on another level as a gamer. He'll finish games fast, but his main thing on gaming is no damaging boss fights on the hardest setting... which is what his YouTube channel is based on. I'm not that dedicated in gaming... which is why he thinks "Tears of the Kingdom" isn't the game for me.

I'm playing Rachet and Clank a rift apart. I don't know how big the game is but I just got to the point where I'm playing the girl lombax. Graphics are amazing, story seems decent enough, I've always enjoyed Rachet and Clank games. Game play is getting some used too. ITs been a long time since I last played a Rachet and Clank game.

I'm not liking the resistive trigger buttons (or what ever you call them) On the PS5. I mostly turned them off, I thought at first my controller was broken

Does the 2 stage weapons still work with the adaptive triggers disabled?

I've only been using the pistol and the wrench. I also have the Enforcer but that runs out of ammo so quickly and I've not run into any issues with that, though I've not upgraded that like I have with the pistol.

I bought this and it's in my queue. It will be my first R+C game. 😬

just finished Horizon Forbidden West and the Burning Shores dlc. enjoyed it overall. good graphics and lots to do. bit too much long cut scenes, not my thing.

only weird thing i will say is the last missions of both the original game and the dlc were surprisingly easy, like much easier than most of the normal missions.

Still playing Tears of the Kingdom ... and this weekend found myself frustrated with the lack of completeness in the save system.

Example: I killed a Flux Construct on a floating island that required using Ultrahand to position a platform so you can jump from land to the platform to the island ... after killing it I did a manual save and closed for the night. I didn't Fuse the thing left behind to a weapon yet or go back across to the mainland before saving. Apparently that was a mistake ... because next day I powered on and there was an update, I let it update and after loading manual save, the dropped item was gone and the platform was reset to original position. Ugh. Throughout my first couple of hours I have tried something, failed, reloaded a manual save and found that the game NEVER saves everything - either I'm in a different place (previous area mostly), things I built are no longer there, and so on. I get that it is common, no idea why it didn't bug me as much in BotW...

Also playing Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. I'm still on v1.1.1, so I have the "easy duplication glitch" available as needed. Been playing it for weeks now. Through 60 shrines, 2 of the assist characters and made some headway into the Sky and Surface levels (still more to explore for sure).

Heh... that's supposed to be one of the 5 to 6 special features of the DualSense controller :p

Still, I've learned that some people aren't into gyro scoping controls, nor vibration, gyro, and with the Switch's case.. Amiibo support, they can just pay $15 to $30 instead! 8)

AFAIK, manual saving in Sky level only works if you're on a larger land mass? The individual islands don't save properly (learned this the hard way trying to go from a movable block)

Yeah, seems that way - and of course you don't earn fast travel for a while. So if you get stuck on Sky you need to reload earlier and repeat sections. I ended up just restarting the game - and yes I realize the hilarious irony choosing to completely restart because of being annoyed at having to repeat a small section!

I've always been intrigued/annoyed by some of Zelda's core designs - lack of difficulty settings essentially closing off the game for a good chunk of the audience (why I never finished BotW), systems that reward more highly skilled players (which inherently punishes lower skilled players and contributes to the impact of difficulty settings), and so on.

Time to hop back into Splatoon 3 as today is June 1st which means Sizzle Season has started, and with it, my wonderful beautiful Splatana Wiper Deco

TIME TO SPAM TENTA MISSILES!

Still on Zelda: TotK. Enjoying it a bit more I guess. Really annoying to explore and find a temple and then realize after searching all over it you weren't supposed to be there because you didn't follow the games path then having to redo everything all over again. Oh well.

I don't think the game will be TOO punishing in that regard. Starting off, I was so hamstrung by having only 1 stamina wheel that I IMMEDIATELY set out to increase my stamina by 1/5th of a wheel. Even before

FWIW, there's no difficulty level here b/c you can always just up your hearts and stamina, make lots of food to assist you (restore hearts, up them, temporarily increase stats). You can also up the armor. It's actually refreshing in a way to hear ppl that BotW and/or TotK was too hard b/c everyone's complaining how easy the boss was in BotW and how anti-climatic it is. I prefer just the right difficulty, but 1) that's hard to do, and 2) that's subjective to each player that if given the choice between stupidly hard vs. too easy, I'd much rather have the latter.

There is a master mode for BotW, and I'm sure they'll do it for TotK as well (DLC has been greenlit. We just don't know what'll be in it, when it comes out, and how much it'll cost). I would've liked to try out master mode, but do suspect there would've been a 50% chance at best that I'd stick with it (it really is "hard core enough").

But what are the mechanics to do these things? They are common things and are actually more easily done by those of higher skill (except cooking, which just requires patience).

And honestly that makes no sense - every game has health/armor/etc. items and ALSO have difficulty levels. Simply having a multiplier for damage dealt or received would

I would argue that for every person who complains about the game being too easy there are 1000 people who quit playing out of frustration.

Because while the main game might be fun, coming to an enemy that one person beats in a single try, another takes 3-4 attempts, and a third fails 100 times in spite of doing everything to get hearts/armor/stamina/recipes ... is a very different gaming experience.

I'm absolutely addicted to Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Breath of the Wild is was hands down my favorite game of all time but Tears of the Kingdom has taken that spot...

I'm still chugging away with Ratchet and Clank - A rift apart. I'm not dedicated to the game, i.e., I'm playing other games as well. So progress is slow. Its a fun game, but its a bit confusing to me. I'm currently on Blizar Prime looking for the phase quartz. While it doesn't seem difficult, its kind of confusing.

I'm a little stuck on indecision on what weapons to buy next as well. I have the Enforcer and the basic gun that you start off with. I have about 10k worth of money. I'm wondering if I ought to spend that now or hold off for better weapsons. I have upgraded both the enforcer and blaster quite a bit, so I used up my crystals that I use to upgrade weapons.

Star Wars. Jedi Survivor

Got this off my parents / daughter for my birthday back in may and up to around 35 hours or so. Have taken time exploring and doing side quests with all planets around 90 percent or more explored

Really enjoyed my time with the game. Good fun. Good exploration.
Due to my exploring and unlocking side missions etc. I have levelled up a fair bit having fully upgraded two lightsaber styles (blaster and cross guard) as well as levelling up nearly all other skill trees.

Was loving until.

Until I progressed the story to where I am now 😞 😡

the twist in the story and you “die”. Picking up as another character you progress the story and have a couple of little “easy” battles. Good fun and a little different. However for a character who based on this and last game is a much more experienced Jedi seems very underpowered compared to Cal. And then the moment comes. It’s him. It’s Darth. Yay / boo.

As with first game all very impressive. That is until I have to replay the fight over and over and over and over again. The first few stages of it are easy. Never taking my health down at all. But the final stage I feel under powered and feel all that exploration and levelling was pointless. When I left Cal he had 11 stim packs. For this fight I have 4. And they feel much much slower to use. My health and force powers are also a lot less

Really annoying fight and taken shine off the game for me at moment

I should add, playing on performance mode on ps5 I have encountered zero bugs or issues with the exception of one door which always seems slow to open but which I rarely come across and never been an issue. No crashes. No glitches. No missing missions etc. played fine

just beat said section by lowering difficulty one (was in Jedi master) and beat it first time. The whole thing made even more annoying when you have to “win” the fight only to die anyway. Ffs. He killed me dozens of times before hand. What bloody difference did it make ? What a silly and pointless fight

Well it happened. I found a temple and explored it killing all the enemies and trying to solve the puzzle but then realized I shouldn't have been there until I started the actual quest for that temple so I had to leave and go back and redo everything.

Mainly my fault for being there early but still a little annoying.

I am still on my eternal Final Fantasy XIV grind, but I also downloaded the Lies of P demo and Final Fantasy XVI demo. Both demos have sold me on the full games. Lies of P is a very interesting take on the classic story, with a nice dose of From Software design blended in. Final Fantasy XVI is almost an entirely different beast from traditional RPGs, but that is a good thing.
