Why do you have to track your dogs?
You guys are one of the bad dog owners. Today some small mutt attacked my dog. The mutt wasn't even on the leash. So sick of bad owners everywhere who don't care about the others.

True, there are very irresponsible dog owners out there, but:

- Someone opens your gate and lets your dog out
- Dog digs hole under fence and escapes yard
- Dog has good reflexes, bolts past people talking at open doorway in bid for freedom
- Someone steals your dog from the back yard (in this scenario, hopefully the AirTag isn't obvious)
- etc
- etc
- etc

Okay, that seems to make sense, but I do see a lot of dog owners that walk their dogs without a leash and it's not pleasant at all when someone comes to attack your dog. That has happened several times and it's not pleasant at all.
It's as bad as a 9 year old walking a Rottweiler and yes, even a Rottweiler has tried to attack my dog and the 9 year old girl couldn't control it etc…
I always walk my on dog on a leash and he's very well trained and doesn't even bark at other people and other dogs and I know for the fact that even if I leave him alone at home, he won't be barking. I've asked my neighbours, because I don't want my dog to bother them.
My neighbour's dog for example starts barking at 6am and finishes barking at 10pm and I don't think it's normal. Many people even don't seem to care about their dog enough to train them and to teach them socialise and it makes me sad. It's not normal when you walk peacefully a dog comes at you and starts barking. If my dog did that I'd be embarrassed so much.
To put an airtag on a dog and let it roam around freely would be an other irresponsible thing to do and I hope no one does that.

Never lose your car keys? Ever? Some of y’all have never had kids and it shows!

In the early days it was preschoolers picking up keys to go play with them and leave them in a toy box.

In the grade school years it was a “clever” April Fools prank to hide Mom’s keys in the 2nd week of a new job.

Today, it is trying to juggle 4 cars in a 2 car driveway with a 19 & 21 year old who always block your car in when they come home after midnight and aren’t coherent enough to say where they left their keys when Mom needs to leave for work at 6am.

So yeah. I bought AirTags. For Keys. All the damn keys…

Just got my first AirTag. This one will be attached to our pooch. She’s not the type to wander off ordinarily, but she can get spooked by very loud noises.

So this will probably be best used for if someone finds her, a backup to the ID tag on her collar. But with the benefit of showing us where she is if she’s found, or close to someone with a device to ping through a signal. Or if we’re able to head off after her and get close enough for a location.

Don’t get me wrong, we’ve managed 10 years without one. But it’s a small extra peace of mind…. And y’know, tech, gotta have it :D

I’ve got one taped to my AirPods Pro case.

Not particularly attractive, but it works.

I don’t charge them wirelessly, so losing the ability to do that wasn't an issue.

just put a hidden one in my motorcycle. its a lot harder to open up, gives me enough time to track it here in California because lots of people own iphones. I already tested it out with a friend and he didn't even get a notification for a whole week that a airtag was near his home. This is perfect for me

It's just a bit of added peace of mind for a low cost. I never let my dog off leash, but you never know. I've got ID tags with my wife and I's phone numbers and he's microchipped, but for $40 (Canadian) it's just a little extra that can't hurt.

My Keys, Wallet. I was going to put on my cat whom is in door only but he wasn't happy wearing a collar again so I had to take it off. Before any one starts up claim bad pet owner, I am vision impaired and I like to know where he is before I go to bed, must be a OCD thing

Just ordered a case for the AppleTV remote that holds an AirTag. Bough two, actually, as our sofas tend to swallow our AppleTV remotes.

I completelly understand this, I have an old chiuaua who besides being small is extremelly quiet. one of those days I noticed that she wasn't in any of her usual spots, and begun searching her, some time later I heard something on the bathroom, somehow she got inside the bathroom, then the wind closed the door or something and she was locked inside but never bothered with it and was like "well this is my life now". Sometimes I really want to purchase airtags for her and my cat for situations like those where they end in unusual places (or to find the cat when he hides around the house since his notion on "play" consists of staying hidden until the dogs come closer then he sucker punch whoever had the bad luck of going near his hidding spot, and sometimes I am the victim of it and have a surprise claw attack on my legs, it would be nice to know where he is so I can avoid his claws.)

To track dogs/cats, one would profit for ultra-low-power gps receiver with reduced resolution and ultra-long-range radio, so that we can find them when they are lost/hurt in the forest.

Lots of these exist - you need a subscription in one way shape or form to get the data (cellular or otherwise). It's a very niche market. The carriers are far too greedy to ever make it realistic to enable cellular on all of our IoT items.

So I bought a 4 pack back at launch but only had 1 Belkin case. So last week I finally got around to buying some cheaper cases from Amazon and activated my other AirTags 🤣

So now I'm tracking:
  1. My Keys
  2. Wife's Keys
  3. Work Bag
  4. Work ID

4 sets of vehicle keys for now as a trial. I bought knockoff key holders off Amazon for $20 for 4 - they are solid and better than $50 for one Belkin case.

The silver back on the tag scratches very easily though and is very noticeable. Maybe it should have been all ceramic coating.

Got an AirTag for my bike. Guess where it is “hidden”.
