I won’t buy a new iPhone as I’ve just got the new SE which I love and will keep until it stops working properly. However, never say never, if Apple comes up with a phone that will feed the cat and deliver a nice hot cup of tea to my bedside just as I wake up I will buy it no matter the cost.

Probably buying it unless battery life sucks. Had a Note for a couple years and while I like it, I don't feel it's as polished as an iPhone. Small things, often not directly tied to the hardware, too. Like voicemail--I'm on ATT here in the US--and the visual voicemail is almost unusable. It often doesn't show messages, and when it does it takes forever to load them. The iOS version just works. Oveall, iMessage is really the biggest reason for switching back, it's just so much more convenient for things like sharing videos with my group of friends than any Android alternative (yes some are basically good but not everyone has the apps making it a pain). Things I'll miss from the Note...dedicated back button/gesture, no notification led, lack of touch id (presuming no underscreen offered), Chromecast not as well integrated in iOS, Android menu system/settings are better than iOS.

Poor uniformity of OLED screens in first batch would make me wait but after all these years I expect this problem will not be big.

I have the XR phone and it still works pretty well. I was thinking about downgrading to the Iphone SE 2020, but I might just keep the XR. I already made a big apple purchase this year when I upgraded the Apple TV. I'm really excited about IOS 14 though.

Recent leaks are showing same size notch, no 120hz screen, no charger or buds in the box, smaller battery, same size camera sensors, no AOD, 64GB base, lack of xCloud/Stadia and $50/£50 increase in price.

Are any of these reasons you won't be getting the 12 or 12 pro this year?

For me in the UK we already had a £50 increase last year with the 11 Pro starting at £1049, if it goes to £1,099 for 64GB then I'm out because I need at least 100GB and I already paid £1,149 last year for 256GB and won't be paying £1,199 for just a new frame design if these leaks turn out to be true.
What’s wrong with my 11 month old phone from last year did it stop working ? Why do people think phones are disposable after 1 year ?

Nothing. I have to have the latest for work so I have to buy. I'd rather not if they get rid of the frosted glass look, I really like it.

For me going from the X tot 11 Pro was a huge leap forward in the camera department, but that’s about it. I can’t imagine the 12 making another leap like that, so it needs to have something else special.
I was really looking forward to the new design, 120hz display and smaller notch. But just a new design (which basically is back to the old design) is no reason to upgrade from a 11 Pro in my opinion.

But all the rumours are all over the place. It’s been a while since we actually don’t know for sure what we will be getting. So I will wait for the actual keynote to decide if I will get it or not.

For me I wouldn't want to upgrade without Pro Motion, but I would mostly be upgrading because of the camera, so I could still be sold by Apple this year. However after thinking about it, I don't think I would be sold without Touch ID either, because with masks on that's not even a consideration tbh. I'm currently on the 8, and luckily have not had any issues with unlocking my phone.

Also if there are no other new features outside of 5G, AND the camera upgrade is not massive; I may even just buy a refurbed iPhone 11 Pro and pay 50% less. From there I'll wait for a real upgrade.

I would never choose to not purchase an Apple product if I had the chance

More over to how my phone functions and reasons why upgrading wouldn't seem better

I have an iPhone 11 pro max I would love to upgrade but I wouldn't be in the best situation for funds wise to upgrade for a minor increase in performance

I can't speak for everyone, but I've never 'disposed' of a phone myself I always either return them (if I'm leasing it) or sell it to someone. In both scenarios someone else gets to use the phone for as long as they want so the only thing being wasted really is my money.

Saving for vacation abroad, new tv, enough cash for a cushion in case of unemployment, putting money on mortgage , home improvements, joining a sports club when this pandemic is over, better food, new bicycle, books, help my neice for college expenses, and training for certification. Those would stop me from upgrading my ip7.

Simple, wife. LOL. No new phones for 2 years ( sine I have got iPhone 11 on September, iPhone 7 through contract renewal, 2 iPhone SE). So yeah, no iPhone 12 for me.

Honestly, the more I read, the less I think I will upgrade from the new SE. I’m loving this little phone, and not really interested in having a small phone with a large notch. I’d rather just have the even bezels, and I’m really enjoying Touch ID.

Their stupid TWO MONTH delay is about to stop me from buying a 12. Im not waiting until November when Samsung can get their phones out on time. That Note 20 is looking really good right now.

I am XR user and it work perfectly. The main reason why I am not interested is of course no new features and still high price.

1. If it doesn't have true 5G
2. If they don't call the iPhone 12, 12, i.e. 11s 11rx etc. Must be iPhone 12 Plus Pro etc.
3. If it doesn't have Full AR Cameras on the Front and Back.

Two things I would luv to say no on, but I would cave, would be:
A. TouchID (I want both; FaceID and TouchID), but they will probably just do one or the other or just FaceID
B. I really want the 120KHz, because I am getting a PS5 this year and I wanna try the Remote Gaming, in house, and who knows maybe in a year or two it might matter. Oh well!

You wouldn’t buy it if it had a different numbering to the 12?! You winding us up?

Eye straining, headache inducing PWM. Not holding much, if any, hope that Apple have addressed this.

Let me ask you this, has any other tech manufacture that uses OLED panels address PWM? How exactly do you propose Apple addresses PWM?

How about a much higher frequency for a start. Much, much higher.

Implement DC dimming option.

Any more ideas than this and I will require a job at Apple and a wage. If Apple wish to force OLED only options for Pro models then they could at least attempt to address the issue.
