I've got a Homeland to watch...

I'm about halfway through season 2 right now. Need to catch up so I can get on board with season 3 as it gets started.

Neither of you will be disappointed. I was curious about where they would take us in season 3 after how they ended things is season 2. I have to say that I never saw this coming. They appear to really be challenging one of the foundational parts of the series; one they have spent the first two seasons developing.

There has to be a reason why Saul threw Carrie under the bus. He is not one who would turn on Carrie like that. He has a plan. (spoiler)

I always try to watch the new series coming out to see if anything sparks my interest. Here's what I think so far...

Back In The Game - Im a fan of James Caan, and while this is mildly funny, it's just not very good overall.
Betrayal - Saw the pilot episode last week with my girlfriend, and we both said Bleh.
The Blacklist - Fast paced and seems like it'll be an interesting show to follow, although I'm not a big fan of case-of-the-week type of shows.
Brooklyn 9-9 - Definitely funny. It's got a Community sort of vibe.
The Crazy Ones - Robin Williams seems great so far. Im looking forward to see how this plays out.
Dads - Terrible.
The Goldbergs - Meh, it's slightly amusing, but it's mostly not.
Hostages - I think this will be one of the top new shows. It's suspenseful, exciting and interesting. Im not sure how they'll stretch this into an entire series, but so far so good.
Lucky 7 - Too early to tell which way this one will go.
Marvel Agents of Shield - I was looking forward to this series, but it's falling short of my expectations. I'll give it a couple more weeks, hopefully it'll get better.
Michael J Fox Show - Who doesn't like Marty McFly? It's funny, but not hilarious. It's got a 30 Rock type of vibe.
Mom - Just plain weird. They're trying to make it raunchy, but it comes across as trashy.
Sean Saves the World - I saw the pilot of this recently, and it was absolutely terrible.
Sleepy Hollow - It's got potential, and the pilot episode was great. But it lost steam in the last couple episodes, and I feel like it may get redundant (chasing a different monster every week while the main story arc unfolds very slowly), especially with shows like Supernatural and Grimm that are very similar.
Super Fun Night - Ugh. Rebel Wilson sounds so unnatural trying to do an American accent. And it's just not that funny.
Trophy Wife - It's pretty funny, but it's not making it onto my DVR.
We Are Men - Lame.

Im looking forward to seeing Dracula, which premieres later this month.

That's sad. I'd suggest Homeland, but you'd have to start at the beginning...

So you don't like those tormented bipolar expressions she makes when she is being messed with? ;)

I do watch homeland. But later then most, when the DVDs come out. I like/hate it. Like it and hooked and want to see what happens. But the acting and writing are so bad at times, it's laughable.

No offense, but if your criticism is directed at Claire Danes, I think she does an outstanding job portraying a somewhat troubled soul.

No offense taken of course. To each his own and people love her so obviously I'm in the minority here. But to be honest, that scene when she is having a break down and there is no dialogue, just music, and the agents are arresting her as she is trying to convince them that she is right....I laughed. I couldn't help myself, it was so over the top, I couldn't stop laughing.

But isn't the nature of a scene like this more about the vision of the director and how he/she wants things to look as opposed to the performance of the actor? I mean actors are there to carry out the desires of the writers and directors.

That's true. I think the director dropped the ball on that scene too. The scene dragged on and on. Should have cut a lot sooner.

You're absolutely right! I was mainly joking about her facial expressions pissing me off. She actually does a phenomenal job playing her character.

Checked out two new shows Back in the Game, a comedy about a divorsed mom who ends up living with her dad (James Caan) and coaching a boys baseball team. It did not grab me.

And The Goldbergs, a 1980ish growing up teenager comedy which I watched primarily because George Segal is in it. It was ehh, ok. Did not meet my high standards for comedy such as Cheers, Frasier, Everyone loves Raymond, but I'm going to give it another chance.

I thought the first episode was really good. I didn't finish the first season of American Horror Story, but season two was well done and this season is looking like it will be great as well.

I thought the first episode was good too!

I also watched the first episode of Sherlock on Netflix today. I'm hooked!:D
