For those who haven't noticed, the US online Apple store is down. I hope part of the updates will be honestly telling us of the delay to March, that UK people have been informed about last Friday.

In the spirit of goodwill, id rather see a 'Now Shipping' for you US people, then when there done with you maybe they can send me mine! ;)

Just coming across the news wires is a press release from Apple saying they are shiping Macbook Pro this week. Whoo hoo!!!

Is it just me, or did they just bump the speeds?

Not just that. The estimated ship date is 1-3 business days when you customize. Not the summary ... the customization page.

Question about my order...

Hey Guys,

I ordered a 1.83, 120 GB HD, 1 GB RAM MBP a few weeks back. Does this mean they're going to upgrade me to the faster processor for free?

A LONG time ago, I had that happen to me. I ordered a G4 500mhz, and they just released the 667 later that day. They upgraded me for free.

Jason

Yeah....

Additional build-to-order options for the 15-inch MacBook Pro now include the ability to upgrade to a 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo processor, as well as 120GB (5400 rpm) or 100GB (7200 rpm) hard drive, up to 2GB DDR2 SDRAM, Apple USB Modem, and the AppleCare Protection Plan.

You can take it to 2.16 GHZ now?

So does this mean if you ordered a 1.67 you get a 1.83 and 1.83 goes to 2.0?
WTF

weirdest move

they just made the MBP faster while not being able to ship the old ones. Do they WANT us to cancel our orders?

I'm on the phone with them asking if they are going to upgrade us (I ordered the 1.83 ghz)...will update as soon as I hear back...
