No, outside the US is taking a bit of time to update. We will all get our "free upgrade", no matter what is being said. I doubt Apple even have any 1.67GHz models to ship, so can't even do it by mistake.

But the shipping date already has been updated to Feb the 28th, why not the config of my Macbook?? I am really worried...

upgrading to 2.16

I wish i could upgrade to 2.16 without losing my place in line. Unfortunately, you can only cancel your current order, and place a new order for the 2.16. That just totally sucks!!

That's wrong. When you get the email from Apple, it seems to indicate that they will help you make changes to your existing order, and it says you may have to wait a little longer if you make changes, but I attribute that to availability of the 2.16 GHz CPU and not "moving to the end of the line".

If you decide you'd like to make a change to your upgraded MacBook Pro order, we're happy to help. You may reach us at at 1-800-676-2775, Mon-Fri 7 am-10 pm and 9 am-6 pm Sat-Sun (Central). Some change requests may extend your shipment date slightly. If we do not hear from you by February 18th, we will ship the MacBook Pro 2.0Ghz Intel Core Duo.

The email says it will be updated before the 15th. Calm yourself, grasshopper, all will be made clear.

Wow...being pushed back to Mar 3rd stinks. Perhaps this is a good time to upgrade your existing mac(s) to hold everyone over.

holy cra p!

I received my email informing me of the changes, but my account page has been modified yet again! 1st it was the 15th Feb (like alot of people) then it changed today to the 28th Feb (which I was expecting after reading this thread) but now its been flung back until 14th March.

Anyone else this happen too?

would only confirm the theory I have since a couple of days that what maverick808 was told initially (March 10) is closest to the truth of all we heard so far. Now Apple may be playing the game of pushing things back in little steps.

According to the press release, if you give them a call, they will be more than happy in assisting your order upgrade to 2.16GHz. If you give them a call, what have you got to lose? If you cancel and re-order, you have a place in the queue to lose.

My order status still says it will ship Feb 28.

I ordered mine Jan 30.

Just thought I'd let you guys know ;) I doubt mine will ship Feb 28 tho

so much for the press release statement "the first macbooks will be shipped this week". Who will they be shipped to?

I also wonder whether by the time the first ones actually go out the 2.16 GHz Dual Core will still be state of the art.

Have you thought about complaining about this to Apple Customer Service?

Call Apple. I would bet they would give you something to console you. Trust me.

On another note to someone thinking about upgrading their system, when I ordered my machine the day of the keynote (1:16pm PST to be exact) I ordered the basic one. The next day I upgraded to the 100gig HD. The rep canceled the order and a new computer was listed as ordered. Now the page says canceled and has another section above that says replaced with. This is new and I am assuming they have done this to keep your position in line if you choose to upgrade.

If anyone enjoys waiting for their MBPro then maybe you should pray for more delays and Apple will announce another upgrade to the computer and delayed shipping again!

Best I got out of a sales rep is that the Feb 18th mark is when they will actually start shipping, regardless of if you make changes or not to your order. And yes, the 18th is a possible shipping date, as you can do international 2-3 day shipping from China and the like on a Saturday and have it arrive on the 21st.

yeah, i'll do that in the morning, now I'm tired and emotional after a day of ups and downs...:) :)  :) :) :)

...i'll just watch this dvd of Family Guy and laugh myself to sleep.

ps. it looks like my further delay (i.e. from 28th to 14th March) may be geographically linked - maybe the yanks are getting them first. (i'm basing this on the where the others who have received the 14th date are from)

Good god, I finally received the legal documentation from Apple I need to fill out to get my 17" replaced with a Mac Book... only it was for some schmuck in Tennessee's iPod legal forms! So I called and complained, and in doing so got a $200 Apple store gift card, and the guy promised me I'd have my MacBook by Monday at the latest!

Lesson learned here? COMPLAIN TO APPLE, lol.

Damn, after initially having the Feb 28th shipdate mine is now also showing March 14th as a shipping date...

Ouch! When did you order yours?

As early as the other two that have recieved this date now.
(Look a few post up) I ordered on January 11th...
This really can't be true. But in the Apple Discussion Boards someone
called Apple and they said this was an automated delay due to the replacement of the 1,83 Ghz by a 2,0 ghz, and that E-Mails with a more accurate shipping date will be send out tomorrow. Well I guess I will see.
If there is no E-Mail tomorrow I am gonna call and complain, because people who orderer a lot later than I did have shipping dates of March the 3rd...

This might help:
