Well, I guess today has been full of good news. Apple is on the ball and telling us stuff. Then I am now Engaged. She said yes.

So it has been great. Happy V-day everyone.

Did you tell her you were more excited about your powerbook first? :D

holy cra p!

I received my email informing me of the changes, but my account page has been modified yet again! 1st it was the 15th Feb (like alot of people) then it changed today to the 28th Feb (which I was expecting after reading this thread) but now its been flung back until 14th March.

Anyone else this happen too?

I had 15. February, then 28. February and now 15. March as shipping date. What is even more annoying, is that the delivery time went also up from 7, then 10 and now 12 days. What on earth could change the delivery time from 7 to 12 days?

Btw: I consider 7 days delivery time already as a choke you only can get up with here in Europe.

My UK MacBook 1.83 (was 1.67) with 7200 hd is now due to ship on or before the 24th of Feb, with delivery by the 3rd of March.

Oh and gratz AJBMatrix!

Finally got my shipping date. At the current moment I have a shipping date
of Feb. 28th. I talked to a rep. earlier today and I was suppose to be
upgraded to express shipping due to being on hold for 40min. and being
transfered to 3 different dept.'s before finding out what was going on with
my order. Well, glad I called because I wanted to check if it was added on
my order status page. NOT THERE!!!!! I called and the rep. said there was
no indication that I was to be upgraded. So I asked to speak to a
supervisor. 5 minutes later he's back on the phone; appologizing for the
wait and the inconvenience and it has been upgraded to 2 day shipping.
(Whenever it does ship):D

So your absolutely right. If you don't bicker nothing will be done. But if
if stand up for yourself and let them know how much inconvenience this has
caused you; issues tend to get resolved.

Anything can happen at this point. If we are put back again, I think I will
go with the 100GB HD.:D maybe I'll ask to throw in Logic Pro 7.0 ha ha ha
Like that will happen:p

My 2.0 Ghz MacBook with 7200 rpm 100 GB HD has been moved back from February 28th to a March 3rd shipping date.

A bit annoying but I'm happy with the processor upgrade nonetheless. That was a nice valentine's day gift from my favorite fruit company :)

what upgrade

Well all is fine but how can it be an upgrade when there are no 8.3 and 6.7 so what else could they do ????? think people they are the same price so how is that an upgrade on something you can't get ??????

Dude, there are 1.67 and there are 1.83 in the Intel supply. But Apple upgraded us to the next step up. They did not have to do this. They have the chips and they could use them. But Apple did us a favor. It was for free. Did you pay for the better processor? I did not. I had a 1.83 orderd. Apple is giving me a 2.0 GHz. It is not like thye did not have processors. The processor exists. But Apple is better than Acer, Sony, and Dell. They are giving us the better end of the deal. I do not understand how you can say what else were they going to do. It was a Tuesday Event. They did this for us. So are you saying if the PowerBook was completely replaced today and all those that ordered them from now on out would get a comprable MacBook Pro this would not be an upgrade?

Transition complete

I ordered my Macbook day after the keynote - the shipping date moved out two weeks - the customer support person spoke to said 'I have no idea what is going on' - and his supervisor said 'you _should_ get it sooner' (i.e. no promises) - this feels like the last time I bought a intel/pc notebook. Looks like the transition is almost complete.

I can't wait for the new machine, especially with the upgrade, but small point/speed upgrades seemed to always be a feature of my intel/pc experience, and something I thought I had got away from in the Apple world. I hope this is a learning experience for the company.

my updated status, as well as many others', is Feb 28 now.... I ordered mine (1.83ghz w/7200rpm drive) on 1/10 as well, so I don't know what the deal is.

My ship date is for the 23rd of Feb. I ordered at 10:51 AM PST on January 10th. I think i may have been one of the first to order  . Its now a 1.83 and was originally a 1.67

Does anyone know if the stores will have them soon, I know that they will sell out very fast but I now they like to have some on display anyway... I'll be in NYC this weekend and thought it would be great to see the MBP in action @ the SoHo store...

btw: Where is the other store in NYC and is it worth it to go see it?

Not necessarily true. I spoke to a rep that claimed the 2 day people get Saturday delivery days as well. So that would make a big difference in arrival time, well worth the 15 dollars to me even if the overall speed was still the same.

:)

Hope everyone enjoyed the ride! MBP's are still shipping Feb. 15th.
apologies on the attacking the fruit are welcome!
Everyone enjoy!;)

i've ordered the 1,83ghz modell on 11.1 4:55am. Now i get the 2,0ghz modell. Yesterday the shipping date moved from 15th to 28th, too.

in their press release they wrote:
they will begin shipping the 2ghz modell this week....

I wont believe apple anymore.

Getting a little annoyed too

And not because I also have to wait a little longer (I expected that), but because of the following section from the Belgian PR:

De 2,0 GHz MacBook Pro is in de Verenigde Staten leverbaar vanaf deze week en het instapmodel vanaf volgende week. In Europa wordt de MacBook Pro verwacht vanaf einde februari.

Translated:
The 2,0 Ghz MBP is shipping this week and the entry model next week in the US. We expect the MBP in Europe at the end of february.

I'm really sad and annoyed at Apple now for treating continents differently. I never expected them to do such a thing, but now I feel I've lost some confidence in them. Sad start for a switcher. :(

Same here. 15th Feb, then 28th Feb (fleetingly) and this morning 15th March, Have called Apple UK this morning and they are calling me back this afternoon to tell me why!

I did have a CTO order with a 7200 drive, but hey!

I heard that the 2.16s were shipping in a couple of days, is that true?
