I just checked in at my local apple store. I spent a while talking to one of the guys there who said they are suposed to get their macbooks "in a few days" and "definatley this week." Not sure what that means for the people who pre-ordered, but at least we know some macbooks are being shipped. I also found out that their store sells two versions of each processor speed of macbook , the "base" and the "ultimate" (I.E two versions of the 1.83 and two versions of the 2.0) The "base" with the 2.0ghz is same as the apple website, but their "ultimate" is the 2.0 with 100gb 7200rpm HD and 1gb of ram for 2500 (2200 with student discount). Maybe those people with pre-orders should check in with their local mac store to see if those stores offer a similar deal, and they would be able to get their MBP sooner and cheaper...
