When exactly is the MacBook Pro shipping?

Why would you assume that? Ever since there have been retail Apple Stores, Apple Stores have always gotten #1 priority over everyone else.

And as I always say, do not forget the anti-virus :D . But after the processor upgrade it is going to be a lot more. Probably around 200 to 450 difference in price now. Apple is the best deal out there considering what you are getting. They do not have some of the lower end models like the others have but they do have really nice upgraded models.

I am pretty certain, that I saw an Acer Laptop with a Core Duo (T2600) in Singapore a couple of weeks ago (Sim Lim - Centre). Had a quick look in the Windows XP System-Overview and it definitely showed two cores.

Exactly... when the 12" PB came out a few years ago, I preordered the day announced and was anxiously awaiting it to arrive.. the same week I was waiting for it to ship, I happened to walk into an Apple Retail Store and they had it on display. I asked if any in-stock and they told me YES and so I bought it on the spot. I was both angry and happy at the same time.
 
Well I called my Apple Store today.... still saying definitely by the end of next week. :) Here's hoping... I go to get it on the 26th. :)

I'd stopped pre-ordering things a long time ago because it always seemed like the retail stores got it way before any of the online stores were able to fulfill preorders. I guess I half-hoped Apple was somewhat above that sort of thing.

In seemingly everything but computers and software, a pre-order is putting up money to purchase the first available item. With Apple it is taking an initial demand poll.

Yeah these are debit cards, not credit cards, If i had a debit card charged with no tracking number I'd give apple a call to see what's up.

Am I in some space time vacuum or is today the 17th? If they ship on the 18th which is Saturday (unless I'm totally retarded here) does that mean overnight delivery arrives on Monday, or Tuesday?

Really on FedEx it says "Packaging Data Transmitted" So i guess it technically hasn't "shipped" but it is set to be picked up. :) I am so happy!!!

When did you order and what was your original ship date?

I ordered Jan 10, 2006 11:01 AM. Original ship date was Feb 15th than changed on 15th to 23rd. Than today it shipped!!!
 
Cool....so that hopefully means that a lot of people with later shipping dates might see actual shipping a weekish before their "estimated" date.

That would make me happy....
