I’ll be I upgrading from the original 9.7 iPad Pro to the 12.9 128 WiFi model. If I can’t adjust to the added size and weight, I’ll return and get the 11, but I really want the mini LED HDR screen. I’ll also get the MKB and Pencil. I have been using my iPad as my computer for several years now.
Why just 128gb? What kind of work do you do that would make this storage sufficient?

Yeah but the GPU is pushing less pixels. I’m sure any differences are practically negligible.
Yeah I concur. The last time the screen made a performance difference was on the iPhone 8 Plus when it was still doing that stupid downsampling from 1242x2208 to 1080p, held over from the 6 Plus. So glad that was fixed with the Max series.

Here’s a different question - are people trading in their previous iPad / iPad Pros as credit to use for the 2021 version or selling them privately or keeping them as a pass-down?

My 9.7” iPad Pro is the 128GB with Cellular. Apple said i can get $230 😟 for it...
I have also an iPad Air 1 that is “worth” $89 in trade in 😫..no way.

I’m thinking about just keeping the 9.7” as a second device for the wife.

They offered $300 for my 10.5" iPad Pro that had the white spot issue. I could have made some more ($50-$70) on Swappa considering it was a 256GB model but I didn't know how much the white spots would decrease the value. The Specialist at the store didn't even notice them. I didn't mind taking the lower value. Plus I got to keep the charger.

Pass down. I've got plenty of cousins and niblings in the Philippines who would be very happy to get free iPads (particularly since mine have high storage+cellular).

I’m still using my iPad Air 2 but I can’t see the screen in the sun would the mini LED be better for outdoors in the sun or will the 11” screen be just as bright also which one has better battery? Also which is better not showing scratches silver or space gray

I think I’m going with the 11 inch. I already have the keyboard and a case and I’m really not trying to spend too much extra money. I already plan to buy a high end MacBook Pro this summer after WWDC, so I really need to watch my Apple budget. The iPad is a secondary device anyways as I spend most of my time on my Mac.

Going with the 12.9 wifi only and passing down my 10.5 to my mother in law. Not getting a keyboard either- simply upgrading for the larger screen and jump in storage space. My 10.5 has a pretty bad, large white spot that would likely mean little to no trade in value- but it’s not noticeable in dark mode so it shouldn’t matter to the next user :)

Yeah, I also had that ugly white blotch on my 10.5, glad I got rid of that ipad.

I’ll be glad to see the back of it too. On mine it’s about 2 inches in diameter and a weird shape that was very distracting on white background.

IPad Pro 12.9 2TB Wi/Fi Silver monthly AppleCare+, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard White, Apple Folio Navy Blue, USB-c Charge Cable 2m, Apple Power Adapter 30w.

If cellular needed, rarely, will tether to unlimited data using iPhone 12 Pro. Coming from 3rd Generation iPad Pro 12.9 with 1TB which is filled with movies to 700 GB. Looking forward to the new screen and M1 chip. Have the M1 MackBook Pro 13 inch. Huge improvement over 2014 MackBook Pro 16 inch previously used. If the MacBook Pro 16 inch comes with M2 chip, will get that as I do mis the larger screen. Completely sold on the Apple silicone.

12.9 Silver 1TB Cellular. Was going to change to WiFi only (for once) and try the tethering route, but after reading on these forums about how having cellular saved people's butts during power outages, I chickened-out and ponied up for the 5G model. ($200 extra - OUCH!)

Hopefully there are no hidden strings attached to the T-mobile offer, and I can cancel the data plan after receiving my $200 gift card. Then I'll go back to their really great $10 for 5gb/5 month plan.

I’ve gone back to cellular as there is great 5G near me, and even the 4G speeds are better than our pitiful local broadband. Have ordered the 12.9 with white mkb (I was going to get an 11, honestly…).

Ordered the space gray 12.9” WiFi 256GB with black Magic Keyboard. Keyboard arrives next week, iPad arrives between 5/21 - 5/28
