Which case will you be getting for your new XS/XS Max? [MERGED]

I've got a white Apple silicone case for the XS max I got with a store credit. White doesn't really do it for me and it's too late for me to return it. If someone here wants it, send me a PM and it can be yours for the cost of postage.

It held up to its name, for sure. And with a skin worked well for most. That said they had an issue in production and several people had them break. It’s def grippy and protective as far as a bumper goes. Dbrand claims they learned a lot from their first try so I’m anxious to see what they can do. They also claim to have reinvented the screen protector with the prizim but haven’t released many details. They are supposed to release at the same time.

The speck grip isn’t that wide for Xr. May do it to hold me over as I think the Mujjo leather will be about as protective (or not protective) as the apple leather.

I didn’t know you had to pay in Europe when recieving something from US. My two Nomad cases came in from the US and I didn’t pay anything. I live in the Netherlands.

UK custom charges VAT. Then Royal Mail charges handling fee as they will hold the item until i pay VAT. Its ridiculous lol.

Nomad customer services refuse to alter the shipping value (which i can understand). So by the time i get the case i would have paid $70 (why cant we have free trade between US and UK).

Still no sign of Symmetry Darth Vader on Amazon or Otterbox UK.

Seriously considering ordering SS Leather with red buttons as their CS was kind enough to email me 25% discount code.

Symmetry Black which im currently using got some tpu peeling off going on just above the ear piece.

sad to hear about your Symmetry peeling. have you contacted Otterbox? from what i understand, they and Speck have superlative customer service and they should be able to send you a new one if you send them pictures.

let us know how that goes. (i'm really interested in getting a Symmetry if and when i can find a good discount on the XS model.

I posted pics and description in this thread that moves faster than Juice can swap cases...LOL!!!

Basically, I scuffed the sides with a bench grinder wire wheel brush. Now it is extremely Grippy. I have another Sheath that has not been modified and it feels slick compared to the Modded one.

i wonder if gently sanding the back of the Otterbox Symmetry would help with its grip.

can anyone comment on the slippery-ness of the back of the "textured" ones (black, green, yellow, purple) vs the smooth back of the Star Wars series?

I still have not removed my Sheath.

It survived the beer festival, rather, I managed not to drop it. Which is a miracle considering the amount of beer I drank.

However, the following day it was tested. It fell out of my gym shorts pocket (which have been a bane of cell phone safety for me) from a Ford Explorer Sport onto the concrete, which I imagine was a 3-4 foot fall. The case had no evidence of scrapes or damage. Just some dirt that wiped off. The phone survived with only the tiniest crack in the screen protector on the lower left corner despite a loud thud.

I was very impressed and I’m certain the veil xt would not have fared as well.

But I’ve enjoyed the grip of the sheath so much that I’ve not even thought about putting the veil back on, even though I figured it would be my daily driver.

I have used and recommended Tethys edge to edge since I got the XS Max. I’ve referred a few people now and all are very satisfied so far.

thanks for sharing this. makes me feel better about my Sheath and 2.5D icarez protector. i'm hoping they are good enough for that rare (1-2 times a year?) but certain to happen drops...i really have grown quite fond of the Sheath. it feels/fits well in my hand and gives the phone a nice clean look.

do you have a picture of the Tethys protector with the Sheath? what is the thickness of the Tethys? my only real concern is that because the iCarez is 0.33mm thick, that reduces the lip on the front the case to about 0.2mm (i have deduced that its a hair less than the 0.25mm thickness of the Maxboost protector i have handy.

i may have to ultimately buy a Navy one to mix things up (anyone have that color out there?).

Wondering if there is something I'm missing and they fall apart or something, because it seems really nice. Protective and pretty thin. Comes with a carmount too.

I’d like to see the other colors as well.

I should add that I probably don’t even need to change the screen protector. Other than the fact that I’m extreme tech OCD. The crack covers zero actual screen area. It’s a small semi circle that exists ONLY in the black border area of the protector.

People outside of this thread and a couple others would never notice.

All I can say is that I don't like it. It has good grip if you don't mind turning your phone into a block of plywood.
Has the cutouts for last years iPhone X on the bottom which I hate. The carbon on the back is beautiful and that's about it. Another waste of $$$$

Should have listened to blaine and ordered the standard version.

Anyone want it, $35. PayPal and I'll ship it to you.

This case has caught my eye for a while now! Does it add a lot of width? It just looks so cool! That Carmine color they have looks beautiful, as does this slate!

The Pathfinder is one of my favorite cases. Does not add a lot of width (it's no Sheath) just an all around fantastic case.
