I've never ordered from Dbrand, do they have a poor reputation? What happened with the "old grips"?
Here is what Dbrand says about the current and old product.

- Full body case with customizable back plate - 65% thinner, better impact protection - Grips in the hand, not in the pocket - Crescent arc lip for unparalleled screen accessibility - Redesigned minimalist aesthetic - Brand new polymer (read: won't fall apart like ****** v1 Grip)

the **** is Sh1!tty... their words.

Got my Element Rally Clear XS Max case today and will be returning it.The fit on the sides is very loose....I have a Bodyguardz clear case and it has a pretty tight fit on the sides.I just figured a $40 case would have a better fit for the sides.

They had their first go in to the case or bumper market with V1. They admitted they learned a lot from their mistakes. Their first one had a common failure of breaking in the same place. They are typically a high quality company with a sarcastic advertising game plan

its should be price less than 2 bucks though its thin and flimsy case just like what you get in aliexpress alibaba etc.

I think it’s worth the 17$ I got it for during the Black Friday sale. Fit, correct cutouts, grippy texture, raised camera bump all in a minimal protection thin case.

Don’t really see how those cases are comparable to the sheath really. What about cutouts, material, drop rating, camera bump etc?

Also, caudabe is a brand... just like any brand, you pay a premium for that specific brand.

what material what drop rating?its flimsy and very thin case.you can order cases in china and put your own brand.

Not sure I understand this logic, but ok. Feel free to check the Caudabe site as it’s “guaranteed” for 6.6 feet.

Personally, that might be high for me, but I have been confident from chest height with it.

not my video but totally agree.not even worth 2 bucks.

Obviously just my opinion, but the sheath is worth the extra. I've bought $2 cases and whether or not the same material is used the quality is much different. The sheath fits perfectly while the $2 cases have gaps/loose fit/too tight etc. Buy what you want but I don't think you can say a case is truly bad or not worth it unless you've personally used it.

Try to remember, these youtube reviewers are marketing themselves just like the case companies. The more views they get the more cases they get sent by the companies etc etc etc. Not that they are dishonest but it pays to be "interesting". The videos are a good guide but in the end it's up to the buyer to decide if something is worth it. I don't think Caudabe would be so popular if people didn't think they were good?

The $2 ones, more often than not, are factory seconds before “Caudabe” is stamped or marked into it.

Well, personally I come back to the sheath, after using some other branded cases like UAG pylo, Totallee leather, spigen etc.. I come back to the sheath. Great drop protection, minimal case and very grippy.

I hope you have personally used the caudabe sheath and then giving this comment.

The otter box pop socket partnership looks interesting!

Very interested in these when they come out!!! I love the functionality of the pop socket but hate the bump over the case and can’t use wireless charging

I don’t think there’s even any “similar cases” of the sheath floating around anywhere either

Very. It's a really smart idea. I've never put on a pop socket because the phone won't lay flat. This has my interest though I don't know if I'd give up my Defender for it. I am waiting to see some reviews

I ordered 8 cases, total delivered $13.18 = $1.65 per case...Thanks fer the Link!

For the Naysayers-->If they are junk, I'll survive being out $13.18!

Good luck! ;)

I had fun with cheap AliExpress for my iphone 6 plus and iphone 8 (but I'm done with them for this round). The quality were very hit and miss (mostly misses for me)..but it let me try out different styles of cases for cheap and for fun! Probably the most fun was (at least back then), the shipping speed "lottery". Sometimes I'll received a case a month later that I had forgotten I ordered. ;):D

I’m very happy with the two cases I currently own…

The price was so cheap I figured what the heck it’s less than 1/100th of the price I paid for the phone!!!

Looks like I'm gonna have FUN as well...I received shipping notices last night (4 of the 8) anywhere from 12-39 days expected delivery...When they show up they will indeed be forgotten surprises!

i just got the supcase unicorn case and in my opinion better than UAG CASE.it has scratch resistant back and i think it has cleaner look aswell lastly price is amazing.
I’ve been looking at this case. There’s a drop test of it on YouTube that’s pretty impressive.

Are you still enjoying this case? How are the buttons? Are they hard to press?

Thanks!

They aren't doing it for the free cases. If you had any idea how much many of the YT 'stars' charge the manufacturers for the videos, your head would spin. You even have brands offering exclusive contracts to some of the bigger stars so they can't do videos for other brands.

They have effectively become 'paid spokespeople'.

Not true. The actual cost of these cases is incredibly low in terms of manufacturing costs. The price gets jacked up by the cost of packaging, shipping, insurance, etc. Basically the overhead of running a business.

Typically when you purchase a case at a carrier store they are working on retail margins in excess of 60 points. So the $30 case costs them $12. Some brands are even higher.

So the $12 covers the cost of the case ( and overhead) to the brand, along with another chunk to the distributor/middleman that manages the fulfilment on a local level.

There are hundreds of 'factories' cranking out cheap cases that can be purchased for a couple of bucks.

Also tried a Supcase Unicorn Beetle Clear, and the buttons were also very mushy. I wonder if case manufacturers take this stuff into account.

Hi Danny,

The case you linked to, the buttons aren't good? I wanted to try this one, but that’s my only concern.

Thanks.
