Which case will you be getting for your new XS/XS Max? [MERGED]

I do have the original on my 7 plus. You can tell that the case is lighter than the old version and that the back is a thinner due to only being plastic. The sides seem like they are a little less rigid since there isn’t as much rubber molded to the plastic I guess.

Overall while it does seem thinner, it isn’t by much and I wish they would have left the extra rubber in there.

I tried both a while back (6S Plus?) ... IMO they were comparable... minimalist at best and offer virtually zero protection, save for scratches and scuffs... absolutely worthless in the event of a drop, IMO.

The camera is slightly longer now ( I think). From the photos I saw maybe 1-2mm so most cases need a new camera cutout...

I asked Spigen about compatibility of the Spigen neo Hybrid ( iPhone X version) and they said it won’t fit... :( needless to say I ordered it already and can’t cancel it anymore... I guess I just try to make it fit with a carpet knife....

I guess many out there will have cases on Friday that won’t fit...

You got that as returning customer or they are launching a campaign. The missus emailed them but no response yet. I guess I will give it a shot with one of these thin cases

This is the most thorough response I've gotten so far, so thank you (and thanks to everyone else who has responded)! One of my cases is a bumper (Rhinoshield), so I'm sure that'll work. We'll have to see about the others. I had considered buying another case before its arrival, but since that's just 2 days away, will certainly wait to see how different it is.
 
I'm really liking the Speck Presidio Pro but have never used them before. I've always used Tech21, Bodyguardz, and Caudabe. Is Speck's protection on par with those? I see it is rated at 10ft. I'm not too rough on my phone but do have the occasional drop.

They always look too bulky too me. Pretty and effective but bulky.

Bulkier than the ones I listed? (Tech21, Bodyguardz, Caudabe) I've not seen the Presidio Pro in person (not even sure if it is out) but from the looks/description it seems to be what I am looking for.

I'm getting my MAX leather case delivered today so it's easily possible that some people are already posting them on ebay.

I had a grip for my 7+ for a little bit and returned it. Too big and also the 10Ft drop protection is corners only and overstated at that. I also had a caudabe synthesis (their "big" model") and it's much slimmer than the speck.

Hmmmm...I've used all three of the Caudabe cases but want something with a little grip to it.
 
I got the Incipio NGP in the mail yesterday...it's way more flimsy then my current iphone 7 version. It's slippery as well where my iphone 7 version has a little texture to it. Disappointed...

I need to find a new case like the NGP for my XS...

It’s a new case so we don’t really know for sure. But if I had to guess I would say it’s the same exact size as the presidio and presidio grip from last year which I would rate a bit thicker than the tech 21 cases.

Pretty sure I'll just be going to Best Buy on Friday and buying whatever they have anyway. Until we have some reviews at least.

I like to think its more of a replica lol I ordered one after seeing some good reviews on the fake ones.
 
I just got an email from Ryokosy about a New Thin Case they launched for both Xs ans Xs Max.

it looks nice, I dropped them a line to ask about the material and the thickness, it seems that they are launching a limited edition with easy sim card access.

will share more details once I hear from them.
 
thus far I picked up two caseology cases this morning and 1 silk base grip for my XS Max. Total for the 3 cases from amazon was $15, all being delivered Friday

They are black market real. If you have ever been to China, you can buy a lot of Apple accessories for pennies on the dollar. Now a lot of them are fake, I agree, but if you know where to shop, you can buy authentic Apple accessories for 10 to 20 cents on the dollar.

Been to China multiple times, I know. Pretty sure no body bothers with "real" black market products any longer when they can just create a fake for cheaper. It's the most likely explanation.

Anyway, enjoy your case.

Originally was going to get the brown, but it is not available on either Speck or Amazon yet. Amazon said 1-3 month wait. Black case on Amazon says 2-3 month wait, but it showed up as in stock on the Speck site today (yesterday it only had an email me when available field). Better deal on Speck site as I got 15% off for being a new customer and no sales tax. I did upgrade to $5 2-day shipping also, but still got away cheaper than if I bought from Amazon. Hopefully it will be here the beginning of next week.

I had the Apple black folio case for my X and I liked it. I did have an issue with the plastic/rubber edging that surrounds the case. After about 9 months it came apart at the hinge and separated on the side. Wasn't too tragic and I could probably get it replaced by Apple under warranty, but since I'm turning in my X under the upgrade program I'm not going to bother.
