Had to use my iPad to take pictures so there not the best.

Thanks for the pictures. I purchased this case in the past and metal buttons on the inside were real sharp and I worried about them scratching the phones actual buttons. Did they redesign this or put some kind padding on the inside of the buttons now?

The inside buttons are not sharp at all, but are not padded. Looks like they will not scratch.

Sheath questions:

- how high is the "screen lip"? will it still rest on the table (ie, the case edge) with a 0.3mm screen protector on it? (MaxBoost Pro)
- is there also a camera lip so that the phone doesn't rest on the lens when placed on its backside on a flat table?

thanks!

i am very interested in this case, but wonder if their 6ft drop protection is even to be remotely believed. i'm not an ultra-minimalist case sort of guy, but i don't like to add significant bulk to my phone. in the past i've been happy with things like the Belkin Sheer Grip (iPhone 5) and other TPU style cases for my iPhone 6,7's with no drop rating but some reasonable protection (Luvvitt Clear Grip). i am not very clumsy, but having a special needs kid has meant on average about 1-2 drops a year from chest/waist high.

do you think the Sheath offers similar/more/less protection than the apple cases (leather or silicon), bottom cutout notwithstanding.

i'm sporting a Silk Grip case which is fine and IMHO, more than enough protection, but a little on the bulky side.

thanks for the great discussions here.

I would say the Sheath offers similar protection compared to the apple cases, just WAY thinner and less bulky. The grip and texture on the Sheath is amazing, it will not slip out of my hand. I found the Apple silicon cases to be way too grippy, and would pull my pants pockets inside out. Although the Sheath advertises 6 ft drop protection, I'm not about to test that out. I'm only 5'10" in height so I'm not worried about dropping my phone from 6 feet up.

I have the iCarez 3D glass protector and the Shealth lip is slightly higher than that, so I can rest my phone face down without worry.

There is a camera lip so the phone doesn't rest on the lens when placed on its backside.

I really have no complaints about the Sheath - really glad I purchased it after hearing such good things about it in these forums! The only wish for this case is for Caudabe to offer it in more colors, like white! The shipping time was a killer (5-7 days standard shipping), wish they sold on Amazon Prime.

I finally pull the trigger on an Element Black Ops case. Usually never spend that much on a case but I’ve wanted one for years. It’s heavy and a little bulky but well made. Plus I had a $29.99 off coupon.

COLOR Black PHONE SIZEiPhone XS Max
EMT-322-198E-01 $199.95
Ordered: 1
Shipped: 1
$199.95

Subtotal $199.95

I’m sure you’ll be happy I had the carbon fiber steel Element for my IPhone X that was 100 bucks I loved that case it traveled the world and took the beating! I got the Element Illusion for my XS Max it’s pretty dope minus the back plate scratches easily as I just discovered. I’m a huge Element case fan. I hope you enjoy it

Is it just me or is the stainless steel and glass very grippy? And all the swipes on the side and bottom feel amazing. Damn cases suck!

It’s just you. The glass and stainless steel of the new phones are just as slippy and with a lack of grip as the previous models since the 6 and 6 Plus.

Are these an extreme pain to put on like the crash guard or does the back inset help?

Do you use a 3d screen protector? Trying to see if they work together.

Quite the opposite, easiest application ever. Give the bubbles a chance to disappear, I got impatient, pulled off the protector and put on the 2nd one. That one had bubbles too but went away after a few hours.

hey guys. Looking for suggestion for thin but protective with good grip. Got a iCarez screen protector on the phone now. Was thinking Spigen tough armor (like kickstand option!) or Supcase unicorn beetle, or one of the silicone ones. Thoughts? Temporarily using Caseology Legion but it seems pretty heavy?! Thoughts?

Can't wait to put this baby on! Nomad Rugged for the XS Max.

The spigen tough armor isn't very thin, it's pretty much just like your current Legion.

I ordered a Nomad rugged but won't get it until NOVEMBER(!) according to their site.

Nice! Did you also have it for the a previous iPhone? I am really curious how this new thinner version compares to the old one.

Either way, please let us know how you like it (especially the buttons)! :)

Hi! Unfortunately I did not get the same model for the X, it’s my first time getting a case from Nomad. :)

Have to say I love it so far! It isn’t as bulky as I’ve expected, was expecting it have bulky sides akin to the Solidsuit for the X but I’m pleasantly surprised! Was told that this year’s iteration is much thinner than the ones on the X.

It is actually not as bulky as the Solidsuit, yet at the same time having ample lip for the camera lens and a subtle one on the front. Buttons are tactile and has a nice sensation to pressing them. I would say go for it if you’re looking for a leather case alternative that has bottom protection unlike Apple’s.

Where did you find it

I’m based in Singapore and was fortunate enough to find a store that had one last piece, waited no further and rushed down immediately! They are selling like hot cakes to be honest, I think they are backordered on Nomad’s official site at the moment.

I think AE14 is familiar with the brand Nomad and their website. So I guess he wants to know at what store LordKuroda bought the case.

If I had to guess I would say Best Buy.

Guess he doesn't want to let out the secret.
