Lol. Guess not

Guess you are right.

Hi! Unfortunately I did not get the same model for the X, it’s my first time getting a case from Nomad. :)

Have to say I love it so far! It isn’t as bulky as I’ve expected, was expecting it have bulky sides akin to the Solidsuit for the X but I’m pleasantly surprised! Was told that this year’s iteration is much thinner than the ones on the X.

It is actually not as bulky as the Solidsuit, yet at the same time having ample lip for the camera lens and a subtle one on the front. Buttons are tactile and has a nice sensation to pressing them. I would say go for it if you’re looking for a leather case alternative that has bottom protection unlike Apple’s.

I’m based in Singapore and was fortunate enough to find a store that had one last piece, waited no further and rushed down immediately! They are selling like hot cakes to be honest, I think they are backordered on Nomad’s official site at the moment.

Can you give us some pictures of the case? Also does it have the grill cutouts on the bottom that match last years iPhone X or this years?

Here ya go! The speaker grill cutouts are symmetrical, looks like most of the case manufacturers didn’t see this design change coming haha.

Doesn’t it make the phone really thick?!

Surprisingly they don’t! They are thinner than the Rhinoshield Solidsuit on my X actually haha.

Just got the Nomad Carbon case. Seems to be a pretty solid case considering how thin it is. That and also the company guarantees drop protection of up to 6ft. Allegedly. It's a two part case. Bumper + actual case. The TPU bumper itself is a little flimsy once its on the case. I was expecting a tighter fit, but once you put the case on its pretty solid. The case is a little slippery in the hand, but has some texture to it. Its like a matte/glossy texture. Hard to explain. The darker line on the back of the case to the right is 100% matte. Wish the whole case had this kind of texture. Another important thing to note, the buttons aren't very tactile which is a bit of a letdown. More so the power button for some reason. The volume buttons not so much.

Thanks for the update. They never mentioned that it was a two part case. Interesting. Sucks about the buttons though.

I used to have a RhinoShield bumper on my 8 plus and it did make the phone very think. Using the Xs Max naked so far. Very pleasing in hand.

Naked with a pouch? I kinda want to go this route but it seems like it would get annoying to take the phone in and out all of the time.

I love Nomad (my favourite case brand as some might have noticed already), but this case is a bit of a let down on pictures to be honest... Of course, judging from pictures is bad, but it looks flimsy and not as high quality as the leather ones. Does the back part feel high quality of just like plastic?

Very nice! Good to see they still have the soft material on the inside while making it 33% thinner.

My 4th Case...(I still have a way's to go to catch "THE JUICEMAN!":D)

Miracase Liquid Silicone S MAX.

Pros:
Good Color for a Silicone, The RED is not overly muted like most I've seen.
Nice soft feel inside to protect the finish on phone.
Good Tactile Feel, Clicky Button Presses.
Just enough opening for the mute switch.
Nice snug fit overall.
Fairly Slim.
Good Tight/Snug/Strong Protruding Lip Protecting the screen when laid face down.
I didn't have any problems Swiping up due to Lip (Apple removes Lip on bottom)
Nice snug fit around the Rear Camera, no gaps.
Lighting cable fits perfect W/O case obstruction.
Speaker holes line up, I like the look of equal # holes for both speakers.
Inexpensive, $18.00.

Cons:
After just a few In & Out of pocket tests, Lint sticks to the case, To Be Expected, Not a deal breaker to me.
Not as Grippy as I had hoped, For this reason, I'm still looking! (I'm coming after you Juice!)

I might take a soldering iron and melt some groves on the sides for added Grip!

Lol! Surprise you have already caught me. I have 4 cases right now. There are people here with way more than that lol. Also I will be returning most of these. No need to have them if I’m not using them.

That one looks good though. Basically an Apple silicone with a bottom lip added. Thanks for the review!

I thought ya had a lot more:confused:...I guess I notice yer replies/posts more because of yer Avatar & I used to have family in Georgia.

Yes, It's very Appleistic!

Just wish my hands weren't so dry because I really like the way this one looks.

The Sheath is Grippy but at times it almost slips out of my Paws.

Anyone else with the Pitika case? Love this minimal case but it's a bit of a finger print magnet.

how is the bottom lip on that one? Is it flimsy, or offer some rigidity?

It’s not that bad actually. I did the same with my 6 and it was fine and then had the bumper for the 8 plus but now back to a sleeve case again.

The Miracase's Bottom lip is not as Firm as the other 3 sides due to the cutout & speaker holes...I don't feel it's flimsy enough to reject for just that reason, it's still pretty solid. I'm already liking this case better than my Sheath. It's just not Tacky-Grippy. Most will feel that it's more than Grippy enough.

My Rating:
The Miracase 9.7.
The Sheath 9.5.
The Tech21-Evo Check 9.4
The Speck Grip 9.4

Why get a knock-off Element case when the badass Element iPhone XS Max or XS Illusion case is amazing and costs around 35 bucks? Just curious. I'm rocking the Illusion case if you want pics let me know I love it and very impressed

Can you post pictures and also how are the buttons on that?

I just received mine today and your feedback is 100% spot-on. I would agree with everything that you've said, right down to the feedback on the buttons. Really wish it had the matte finish on the entire case. Also, based on the pictures of the site, I wasn't expecting it to be a two-part case.

To the other person who asked about the quality - I do feel that is is good quality, like other Nomad cases. It does not feel like cheap plastic to me at all.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with it.

Its pretty sturdy in my opinion. A lot studier than other brands I've tried throughout the years.

Yea I wasn't expecting it to be a two-part case either. But I'm pretty happy with it so far. Its exactly what I was looking for. Very minimalistic, looks classy and also has protection of up to 6FT(still a little iffy about this considering how thin it is, but I trust Nomad). So with the Nomad Carbon Case, Caudabe Sheath and the Midnight Blue Apple Leather case I'm all set! The holy trinity.

All Symmetry cases are not created equal. Got in that yellow color one today and it's so small and tight that the iPhone max will not go into it without using a crowbar. Going straight back to Amazon in the morning and exchanging if for the green one.
