I just purchased the Navy with the rubber strap. Also got the Navy Hornback strap with orange stitching to alternate. Will post a pick when I get home.

So, you bought it from that guy? You would think he would have sent a more recent picture. Who knows what condition it is now because that picture was posted almost a year ago.

Watch threads on non watch forums always get weird.

thanks for that. buying through a broker. he texted me a couple pics with both the rubber and hornback for reference. i assumed wrong. :) i posted half my rolexes for sale here: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/various-rolexes.1956894/, but i guess those exifs don't count. IWC BP double chrono arriving tomorrow. will post wrist shots accordingly. could get AP this week, but leaving out of town on Thurs. for a family emergency. Will post those pics next week. lots of posers no matter what forum so i get it. you could have at least waited for legit pics. LOL. lots of time on your hands i guess.
[doublepost=1456295716][/doublepost]also bought a couple of cars this week. can snap pics with whatever verification you need. sorry for the hostility, but i'm feeling "good" and i didn't start this...
[doublepost=1456296228][/doublepost]add this to the merge...

i get the doubt. the dude with the Pateks was laughable for sure. i'm posting up a pedestrian BP and a douchey ROO (in many opinions). so, sorry for the hostility, doubt me until tomorrow when i can at least prove my first new acquisition. wish i could take possession of my navy this week also, but my father in law is scheduled for heart surgery on thursday, so priorities...

Wow. Looks like I touched a nerve.

You are right though, I have a lot of time on my hands. I had to have my assistant make time in my schedule so that I could right click that picture and choose "search google for image". That's why it took me so long to get back to this thread.

Anyway, my point wasn't to call you a liar, it was to demonstrate how easy it is to catch any amount of strangeness on the internet. And it is a bit strange, don't you think? That the one picture you chose to provide exists in only one place on the internet. Posted by someone on another forum almost a year ago. Your posts clearly implied that was the watch you bought. Then again, I guess maybe an ROO with a navy hornback is fairly specific.

Good luck with the family stuff.

was suppose to get this in the morning, but apparently FedEx had problems with one of their planes. they told me delivery by 8:00 pm, but thankfully it made it to me around 1:00. really happy, was a tad worried about the size. verification provided for the internet watch police.

Enjoy it and - above all - enjoy wearing it.

Color version of earlier photo of my "Shogun". Can't decide which one I like best, BW or color? BTW, the color is not accurate. The watch is titanium and thus a bit darker than stainless. I took the photo under a lamp with a stainglass shade.

I did not buy online, i bought it at the official omega boutique but they had to order it. Finally picked it up. Personally i would not buy something like this online

I've bought from both brand boutiques as well as online. I'm always checking DavidSW's site. That's where I bought my Bathyscaphe.

But it is nice to get at least one Omega at the boutique. It gets you on mailing lists for some free swag (e.g. past few years I got a tote bag, toiletry bag).

I have many (~30?) mechanical watches, ranging all the way from a 200 year old un-named French fusee to a 7 year old Omega Seamaster Professional. These are my favourite three pocket and wrist watches of the lot-

Alfred Huguenin and Sons chronograph quarter-repeater in a 14k hunter case. Probably my most complex watch, has timing functions and will chime the hour and quarter hour when a slide is depressed on the side.

DSC00402.jpg

Brandt and Sons caliber 10, the original Omega, in a sterling hunter case. The only pocket watch I keep serviced and timed for actual use. Common, beat up, and technically nothing special, I just like it.

DSC00401.jpg

Waltham Crescent Street, lever set, railroad grade in gold filled case. Beautiful decorative finish on the movement as was often the case in American watches from that era. Still in great shape and has excellent accuracy even though it probably hasn’t been serviced or timed in decades.

DSC00406.jpg

Omega Speedmaster automatic triple date. One of my two current daily work watches. Not the most practical watch but it’s held up well over the years and I like how it looks. It’s been bashed into door knobs and rails so many times that the sapphire crystal is starting to chip and scuff.

DSC00400.jpg

Omega Constellation automatic chronometer. My first Omega, great minimalist dial.

DSC00398.jpg

1MWF (later Poljot) Rodina automatic. 60+ years old, the Soviet Union’s first full rotor automatic watch and my first automatic watch. Bought it for $30 on eBay from a seller in Ukraine shortly after high school and wore it to school/work daily for a number of years. Never serviced, still works and keeps semi accurate time.

Great selection and thanks for taking the time and trouble to post and share them with us.

Must say that I'm particularly taken with the the old pocket watches, the old original Omega, and the gorgeous Waltham - beautiful pieces.

And I share your love of those minimalist Omega designs form the 50s and 60s, thus, I like your Constellation, and the Soviet Poljot has its own wonderful aura Cold War/Iron Curtain authenticity.
