It's the opposite.

I pulled out my iPhone 6 plus the other day and someone was going off about the s5 and how much better it is because "it has 3 geeeee beees"

I knew he was referring to ram but I don't think he had a clue himself. Probably just read some random tech website that hates on apple and came up with the thought.

This can be said about a lot of android users from my experience. They have sophisticated devices but don't know what their devices are capable of doing. My friend was going off about how my phone sucked and so I asked if he set up NFC tags, he said "what's that?" Lol

It happens in both directions (actually all directions) and I can't stand it in any case. One of the worst things tech sites do is post benchmark rankings. It gets people thinking that the giant device they bought for Instagram and email is so much better than another because it spat out some number on a diagnostics test.

You end up with people buying their devices based on all these completely needless metrics, bragging about "I have a quad-core Snapdragon" or "my phone got the best SunSpider benchmark" when they have no idea what any of that means aside from theirs had the "best numbers". You even see it on Android forums where Motorola guys will crap on Samsung or HTC because of the "bloat" or they'll fight over screen resolution and pixel density when on a screen less than six inches across it makes NO difference.

When anyone, ANYONE, is using a piece of tech for a status symbol or for bragging rights as opposed to actually what best fulfills their needs, it's a problem.

Higher res on my Note 4 makes a huge difference. I'm not saying what I have is better, but it is better for MY needs and seeing more map information, street names, etc is very useful for me.

You sound like one of those Android fanboy that hates Apple for no reason.

I laugh at fanboys like this one that haven't even bothered to actually read the post. He uses both platforms. How can one hate Apple if he uses Apple?

Oh, this is the "Alternatives to iOS and iOS devices" forum. It exists for a reason: to discuss Android/Windows.

1) Samsung gets the hate for a reason: The bloat takes up space and bogs down the system. TouchWiz also bogs down the system. If Samsung de-bloated their systems and got rid of TouchWiz, Samsung wouldn't be receiving the hate.

2) Higher resolution DOES make a difference. Clearer and crisper text, higher detailed photos, etc.

Some people are pathetic...that's pretty much all their is to it.

No need for additional analysis.

If your response to a new iPhone that moves 10 million units in a weekend is "ZOMG, worse OS ever, walled garden, Apple is evil, WAAAAA", you're kinda pathetic.

I'm sitting here with my android S5, motoring along, pretty content, thinking about maybe getting a 6+ at some point in the near future. It's really not a big deal.

I wish Alexander Graham Bell could see the arguments people are having about telephones that can all do infinitely more than he ever imagined.

Gotta be in it to win it
Coming from the person that states his opinion as fact with no resources to back it up......

You must be new to the internet. # but seriously sure with every new release of every operating system there are issues that need to be addressed with every operating system on every piece of hardware in the world. But how does anyone know how MY phone behaves? Ever see jd powers surveys for the iPhone, you would never know how bad it really is.

Since 8.1.1 over two weeks ago, not one, as in zero crashes. While you can scoop up "the study" to me its Internet noise.

you must be new to internet forums......people state their opinions they have formulated and the information that led them to those opinions. Otherwise.....you are just making things up.......
I can see why you never post sources......

People do make things up, glad you said that, and publish things that make no sense. All that "study" is, is a straw man. And as you said I'm staring my opinion, which is just as good as the straw man.

You want to post a link to your study? I'm assuming you have done one since you are posting as if your opinions are facts.

Ah, you're just laughing at us writing a parody of a fanboy. I was worried thinking that you were serious.

When you have no sources......no information to back up your opinions........
that is the answer you give........ We all know you have no credibility.....

Not publishing a study as you demanded, but I would like to see real facts as opposed to factoids and straw man.

No problem, it's obvious credibility isn't needed in these forums, and I say that with all due respect.

See, back in the day Apple was much better than Android especially when it came to app selection. So year after year the play store began to grow and the OS has gotten better. Meanwhile OG iOS users are seeing huge progression while their platform is slow to match or catch up.
No wonder the hate!
