It works with the 12 Pro Max, but just barely. You have to be very deliberate about how/where you lay it down. Mainly because the huge camera bump makes placement tricky. Not sure if that's been mentioned before. If you use a case, it's obviously even tougher.

I realised today that the camera bump was likely impacting me with my charger, this why earlier I reported it (Carved charger) not working and then revised my post today to say it was. I think the culprit is the camera bump.

The charger I was using is a rectangle shape. To date I have placed the charger in the same orientation as the phone. In attempting to have the phone sit flat I was placing it so the camera bump was hanging off the edge of the charger, but I think this was causing the Qi coil to be too low on the phone so it was misaligned. If I positioned it such that the charger and phone were both sitting in portrait orientation and the coils correctly overlapping, there was an air gap thanks to the bump on the 12 Pro Max case that hasn’t existed in past cases between the charger and phone. This likely reduces the chargers effectiveness. For that particular charger rotating it so the charger was in landscape but the phone in portrait orientation allowed more reliable contact as I could align the chargers better without having the camera bump creating an air gap.

I can imaging there will be a few chargers impacted by the new 12 Pro Max cases having a bump that adds extra spacing between the phone and the charger above and beyond what you get as a result of using a case. Probably not the only issue as the other models cases don’t have the same bump, but I assume it’s not helping charging efficiency for the Pro Max with certain chargers.

If anyone comes across a charging stand dock that supports Apple Watch and Airpods that works for the iPhone 12 mini, please let me know which one. Both of my docks now don't work wit the iPhone 12 mini.

Do not be tempted by this new offering from Mophie/Zagg: https://www.zagg.com/en_us/4-in-1-wireless-charging-mat

I ordered it upon release. It looks well made, but it could barely charge my iPhone 11 Pro with Apple leather case. The positioning was just so sensitive. And if if it started charging, it would randomly stop just a few minutes later, apparently out of alignment with the coils. Without a case, it did much better.

But considering how sensitive the 12/Pro/Max are in regards to wireless charging with a case, that Mophie will be a non-starter, especially considering the camera bump problem. I sent mine back for a refund.

Nulaxy WCT01 is working with my iPhone 12 Mini
Samsung EP-N5100TBEGUS is not working with my Mini. It doesn't appear to be a dimensional issue because it works when I first set the phone down, but then stop after a few seconds. Laying the phone flat across the charger doesn't help either.

I never had any issues with either of these on my iPhone Xs.

My 12 PM doesn't like my Samsung Qi wireless charging stand, tried with Apple silicon case, UAG case and even no case. Starts to charge for a few seconds before light flashes red and charging stops. Kinda bummed about it. If I hold the stand horizontal and place the phone on it sideways it seems to work. Thinking the phone is too tall for it to properly hit the charging spot (must be the placement of the magnets). Worked with no issues with my 11 PM, Note 10+ and other big phones.
Happens with my mini too

My iPhone 12 Pro Max is on a brand new Mophie 15W Wireless Charging Stand and refuses to charge consistently. Tried with and without my Magsafe case on, no difference. I'm on 14.2, restarted, no luck. Big bummer considering the wireless charging power this is supposed to have. Sometimes the stand will stop blinking at me and start charging, but only for a few seconds.

I have one of the Cheotech stands at work and I just confirmed it does not work with my 12 Pro Max. I if I turn it sideways and raise it up on the stand it works, but that obviously isn't going to work.

Ugh, so frustrating.

That charger would only max out at 7.5w for any iPhones anyway. Even my old pixel 4xl would only get 5w on that. The pixel would get 10w on special chargers like pixel stand or a few chargers that use EPP standard.
have you tried putting your phone on in landscape orientation?

Just ordered this from Amazon to try out. Should receive it tomorrow. It SAYS it’s compatible the 12 Max. We’ll see.

I have the Anker PowerWave 7.5W Charging Stand and it doesn't work at all on my iPhone 12 Pro Max running iOS 14.2.1. Hopefully it turns out that it can be fixed via an iOS software update. Anker themselves just told me "not supported, sorry."
I have this Anker PowerWave and it works just fine. I have no problem with it.

Received it a little while ago. Put my 12 Max on it, my Apple Watch S4, AirPods Pro (in a plastic case), and AirPods 2nd Generation (used built in Lightning plug) on all at the same time. All but the 2nd generation AirPods charging wirelessly. Left everything on for about 10 minutes, and my Max battery level went up 3%. So far, so good. One thing to note though, my Max has a Totallee clear soft case on and I did not remove it before placing it on the charger. This unit also has an additional USB A port on the back to plug in an additional device on the back if it does not support wireless charging. As long as it keeps working, I’ll be happy.

Hi! Thank you for the original post. I’m not seeing any way to edit the chargers list. I want to confirm that the Nomad Base Station Stand is working perfectly with the iPhone 12 Pro and it should be removed from the list. Thanks!

What about with the 12 pro max? I see that they say it does not (probably due to the positioning of magnets.. but wanted to make sure!

I have the Zens Liberty Wireless charger and I noticed that it's not working properly with the iPhone 12. I think this might be due to the fact that it's a "AirPower"-like device that has multiple coils, and magnets (MagSafe) obviously interferes with Qi chargers.
Can anyone with a multi-coil "free placement" charger test? For example the new Nomad Charger or the Zens Liberty?

Confirmed Qi chargers not working with the iPhone 12/Pro
Can we make a separate section/edit thread for 12 pro max users? I believe that due to the size increase this will change the results rapidly. As in, the verdict on a wireless charger working may vary between 12 pro/max models.

I think you hit the nail on the head here. I really suspect most of the issues aren't so much (magnet/foreign object detection) but rather the different phone sizes leading to sub-optimal alignment or the phones not sitting flush.

I don't think that's correct. I've tested with iPhone 12 Mini, Pro and Pro Max and they all have the same issues, even when perfectly aligned to a coil, while every other of my friends' Qi devices charge with no problems. The biggest clue to this being a magnet problem is that this issue affects disproportionately chargers that have multiple coils (the magnets touch surrounding coils and the foreign object detection is triggered).

You may be 100% right with multi-coil chargers. I only have experience with single or dual-coil chargers. Luckily mine all work fine... My pixel stand works better than it did with my Pixel 4XL. I do know some chargers are more persnickety with foreign object detection.

My iOttie Easy Touch 4 wireless qi charger ( dashboard) doesn’t work with the Max + Apple’s leather case! Case off, it charges just fine!! Ugh!

Out of the blue, I received a Seneo WaveMat 202. I did not order it but I did leave a 1⭐ review WaveStand 014. I did not receive notification from Amazon or Seneo, it just showed up... I won't use it as I don't have AirPods or an Apple Watch 🤷‍♂️ I guess it will make a great Christmas gift for someone.

Yay: Yootech Wireless Charger pad 👍

The post below is what steers me towards the magnet theory (the Apple cases have additional magnets).

Hey! Does anyone use a slicecharge pro for their iPhone 12 used with an apple magnetic case?
On my device, it tends to not charge my phone when I place it close to the side where there is the apple watch charger, but the other side works completely fine. I am having this behavior when I have the case on, and it works perfectly fine with the case off.
