The great reset is a conspiracy, but it's not a theory. It's playing out right before our eyes.
It is a project and it is hardly new. Hitler was brought to power to accomplish the exact same outcome. The difference now is that everybody understands that tanks and bombs will not accomplish anything in today’s world.

Klaus Schwab doesn't need tanks or bombs. He has everyone fooled enough already!!! He basically accomplished his mission without firing a shot. Hitler could only dream of that! We were a lot smarter back then and a lot less tolerant.

I’m a photographer. If Apple wants to scan my photos, all they’re going to find are nature, landscape and wildlife photos, all of which are tagged and watermarked. So if I see one of my photos mysteriously appear on the webs, I also have a good lawyer.

That's been pretty much it for photos since Daisy died (my companion deer) Lately it's been my bunny, and landscapes. Mostly to use for wallpapers. Camera on a phone is always going to be inferior to a real camera. Ain't gonna change just because they stick a few dozen lenses in there. That's no different than putting a huge lift kit on a Ford Ranger and calling it a 4x4 truck. That truck will always be inferior to a real 4x4 vehicle.

I won't leave the Apple Ecosystem, not if they keep giving me things like this:

There's this quote by Abraham Lincoln: "Not everything you read on the internet is true.

The above quote can also be applied to surveillance.

I absolutely agree. There is nothing like a real camera. I have four myself, and they all blow away phone cameras. A phone makes a good point and shoot. This is why phone cameras are never a reason for me to spend $$$$ on a phone.

Didn't help that even the best camera that existed when Daisy lived was the horrible 5MP in an HTC Thunderbolt. None of her photos scale to modern resolutions.. :(

But hey, it works fine for taking reference shots of golf car wiring before taking them apart!

Thoughts for photographers such as journalists or whistleblowers who may not have the same position in life as you do and whose work may be of interest to oppressive governments?

People digress here, I am pretty numb on things that are conspiracies, BS, vaporware, and the like. But when I saw CSAM I jumped out of my couch and started protesting, yes, I have twins that are 15 y.o. But I do not want CSAM, I even got vaccinated and I wear masks, but I don’t want anyone snooping on my personal data. Thanks to everyone complaining, eventually this POS will go away.

I understand that people are worried that this is the thin edge of the wedge, the first step on a slippery slope, etc etc
BUT I think the CSAM is something that is worth that risk. If they expand it to start searching for other stuff, then that will be found out and then everyone can start screaming and shouting about it.
But I don't understand why people are concerned about a process that searched for a hash of CSAM images. Unless you've got a load of said images on your device.

but why go there?
they can use 1 million other subjects to promote something that is going to sell anyway.

because apple can do what ever they want and are above everything.

I guess - why not?

The ad is clearly designed to appeal to emotion by showing how you can use your Macbook to edit a video of you and your family having a fun time by the beach, as a sort of keepsake.

I see nothing controversial or vulgar in the images at all, and I struggle to see why you would have an issue with it either.

It could be that one of the biggest usages of consumer video editing is videos of family holidays/vaccations thus having something that parents can relate to is a good marketing strategy. If people are seeing things wrong with the images I think it says more about that persons thought processes.

What good will it actually do? Even in the best case? All it will do is keep those images off iCloud and iPhones/iPads. It does literally NOTHING to stop child abuse or abusers.

No it isnt worth at all. Real authorities already have all equipment to follow criminals, we dont need any corporate to do that. It doesnt stop fror csam material, it wil go further… Do you really think that apple will say ”no” to second largest market area, china, when they demand to use this technology to something else? they already have they own contract with apple..

What about people in middle east? When you are gay or trans person, or just want to write or publish something else than their religion say? Howabout misuse? You dont like your neightbour, your teacher, the person who make decisions? Just buy few prepaid and send some csam… After the investigations is done, the damage has already happened.

Are you so naive to believe that csam is the endpoint of surveillance? It isnt just what we will have in western countries, it affects also others. everyone should say no.

I deleted my Apple ID and use the phone like a dumb phone (i.e. basic SMS and phone calls). It’s not Snowden-level privacy, but it’s better than nothing.

Already disconnected my other Apple gear and now offering them to my family. They do not care about this issue
Barely.

What on earth are you so concerned about someone seeing anyhow?

If all my stuff got leaked it wouldnt be ideal by any means. But would I forgo what is common, and quite essential these days? Video calls, sending/receiving photos, ANY app which needs to be downloaded from the App Store.......for a 1 in a thousand chance that someone might snoop onto my library of saved memes?

Thats a nope from me
