Loving the beta - though do agree manual upload is a pain. Hopefully they bring this sooner rather than later. Some sort of auto export option in the interim would be very beneficial so when I go to my Mac all the files are there ready to upload to Power Centre.
How would you want the files to be auto-exported? I don't plan on adding anything like that in this version (which is close to release) but it would be interesting to know for the future. Although hopefully Stryd will have an API by then.

Hi - new user here and loving the app! It made my decision to stay with AW over swtiching to Garmin or some other platform. I was wondering if there was a way to display the GAP (Grade-Adjusted-Pace) live while running? I may not know the setting if it's available but would like to be able to see it live rather than afterwards when exporting to Strava. Thanks!
GAP is surprisingly rarely requested. I may add it at some time, although I tend to avoid subjective metrics. There are several different GAP algorithms and different users would probably have different views on which is the most accurate.

Found a small bug, maybe it is already known.

As told, I was running a course a few days ago. Had it properly unselected after the run and today, I ran (partially) on the same route.
Had the map displayed and was wondering that a partial subset of the route (maybe 2km or so) was displayed on the map. Checked settings and route was not selected. Checked it and unchecked it but the route stayed on the map. Changed screens, route stayed.

Coming back home, I deleted the route and checked "Map only". Still, the segment (including direction arrows) was on the map. Force quit WOD and checked again, and now, partial route was gone. Not a big issue, of course.

Just when auto uploading to Strava also auto uploading to iCloud Drive / Google drive etc.

Hi I hope someone can help me. Sorry for maybe easy questions but WoD can be very tricky to find stuff.

1. When i'm hiking there is an option "Distance remaining" but even when I upload a GPX route it doesn't work. I want to see how many km are left while hiking a route

2. Is there an option that I get audio feedback about my current pace while running? How? Is there maybe even a way that WoD alerts me when I run too slow or too fast?

3. While hiking the GPX route always change between blue and purple. What is the reason for that?

4. Sometimes the Pace is different to Strava. WoD shows me a pace of 5:36 km/h and after uploading to Strava 5:31 km/h

Not from personal experience, since I have not been using WOD much for a long time, as I am patiently awaiting stryd support. But some of your answers can be found on the homepage.

There should be.
- limit alerts for heart rates, pace, speed and cadence;
- configurable displayed and spoken metrics for each alert;

More details

Sorry - I missed this post. Thanks to @Significant1 for answering most of the questions.

In terms of the distance/time remaining metrics, at the moment those are only calculated for fixed length workouts and for interval schedules (where possible). I plan to also make them work for GPX routes when I improve the route functionality to "follow" a route. This is high on my to-do list.

At the moment routes are merely displayed on the screen and you get an alert if you deviate from them. In the future I plan to make the app follow where you are on a route, and then I will be able to implement those metrics and also add new ones like a profile graph of the elevation etc.

Is there a way to see if the screen is locked?

Today I wanted to go to „now playing“ (3 taps) and nothing happened. Thought I crashed WOD as it was not responsive anymore. And then I remembered that I put „lock screen“ on four taps.

Not at the moment. Many people have a locked screen for the whole workout, so I don't want to use up screen space by saying that somewhere.

I may add some sort of lock icon somewhere on the screen but to be honest I think you are only the second person to ever ask about it, so it isn't high on my list. Sorry about that.

When I lock my screen with 4 taps I see a message at the bottom saying “Locked - tap 4 times”. Or is this in the beta?

That is only temporary and goes away after dropping your wrist. I could keep it visible for longer but I am not making any unnecessary changes at the moment because the release is imminent.

Does anyone know how to make the wake on wrist raise with always on display stay longer than 4-5 seconds? The stay on for 15 or 70 seconds setting only seems to work with screen taps, and not with raises. This happens with all apps, but I really notice when riding a bike using WOD where I need to keep one hand on the bars. Often only 4 seconds to see want I want isn't long enough.

If it's possible for an app to stay open for longer on wake on wrist raise, that would be a great addition to the beta!

I don't know of any way to control this, but would be happy to hear if anyone else knows how to do it.

This was probably asked before, but can't find it.

If I want an almost accurate display of my pace, what do I choose?
Had tried both rolling pace 10 seconds based on GPS or Health (not sure what the difference is) but both were very jumpy (almost 1 min/km difference though running steady).

Is "current pace" based on pedometer with smoothing (how much) the better way to go?

The default of current pace from the pedometer with no smoothing is the best way to go. It is the raw pace provided by the pedometer subsystem of watchOS and most people find it the best indication of instantaneous pace.

I've been looking for it but i can't seem to find it. Is Workoutdoors able to drop a marker or pin for an interesting custom POI during a random ,non gpx route, walk ? My work requires me to travel and scout new places often. I was hoping workoutdoors would be able to do such thing. Thanks for the great watch app either way!

The app does not provide a create waypoint feature yet but it will at some point in the future. In the meantime you can export a GPX file with waypoints for the start of each new interval, so if you start a new interval when you want to store a waypoint then that will work.

To start a new interval press the watch screen and tap Settings then Commands and then New Interval. If you do this a lot then you can set up a shortcut to make it easier. For example go to the Commands menu again and then tap Shortcuts. Then choose a shortcut gesture (e.g. double tap or press both side buttons) and then set that gesture to be New Interval.

Then in the iPhone app go to the Settings tab and tap Export Options and then switch on "GPX Interval Waypoints". When you export a GPX file it will then include a waypoint at each position where you started a new interval.

This is obviously very complex so in the future I will add a proper Create Waypoint feature, which will be easier and also allow you to name a waypoint.
