Yep. Didn’t get the ability to navigate offline

Seems to be possible with a connected iPhone. But not sure, the document on Apple‘s site is very brief.

They close significant gaps with watchOS 10 to Garmin and bring value to the AW platform. Good for us all, no matter which app we use.
Could very well be that watchOS 11 then brings full offline navigation to the AW.

Things I said they never will do: integrate training platforms like TrainingPeaks or connect bike power meters. All niche stuff but necessary to be a complete sports watch.

See here:

So there is offline turn-by-turn navigation on topo maps. Requires conected iPhone though.

I don’t think it’s the same as the ability to load a GPX file and navigate offline.

Probably not.
Though they showed briefly some stuff that looked like Komoot or so with a track description. Was just a few seconds to see, so no idea.

Edit:

@zach471 Whatever they mean with „Trails“.

„Trail information
Search for and discover important details of nearby trails, including name, length, time, elevation gain, difficulty, photos, and more.“

Hi, is there any chance to have possibility of manualy calibrate treadmill running distance in near future? Garmin has this feature and it's working well.

„…Workout Views, such as Heart Rate Zones, Elevation, Race Route, Custom Workouts, and a new Cycling Speed view, have been optimized for the display size of iPhone, which can be mounted to a bike for convenient, easy viewing during a ride.”

Interesting… maybe gpx support

Sorry - that is not high on my to-do list at the moment.

Guess not. Race Route is already in watchOS 9. Takes your previously taken workouts and let's you race against it. Detects deviation but has no navigation feature or import of GPX.

Ahhh… That’s right… I was too excited and forgot it’s named like that 😆

Probably not any time soon. Sorry. I don't think anyone has ever asked for that before and the type of shot sounds quite difficult to determine. Maybe one day.

Glad you like the app!
Oh, maybe there is hope yet for the tennis workout with respect to swing count with WatchOS 10, the keynote today mentionned : "There's a workout API for developers. Can help measure motion data during golf swings or tennis serves."

I’d really like to be able to import Final Surge structured workouts.

DC Rainmaker writes about watchOS 10:

With the new workouts API it should be easy for FinalSurge and others to push workouts.
Thinking about this: could do a simple workout creator app with this new API.

Since a lot of my running is on a treadmill, I would love live activity on the iPhone. But may not be the most popular of requests.

Would it be possible to add an 'estimated time to start' based on the `direct distance to start (as the crow flies)` and maybe the average speed/pace?

Will apps like WOD be able to pull in those workouts that are pushed?

Hi, has anyone tried WatchOS10 with our favorite app, maybe on AW Ultra? Any problems?
Hi, yes I have. Nothing exciting to report as its very early days for iOS 10. iOS Dev 1 makes WOD slow, 5 seconds between button press or a screen press. Everything I use in WOD works but the lag in interacting with the app is pretty clunky. Still, it is a very early beta :)

Hoping that Workout API help WOD, a great app, get better and better...

cheers

Thanks! Yesterday evening I install WatchOS10 to my old AW6, not to my ULTRA. I don't like it...
Today I will try a WOD activity and I post here my experience.

I tested with WOD (on watchOS10 dev1) and wasn't able to access the long press menu within a workout - might be something to fix there - obviously very early and the bug could be on Apple's end.
