Good tip, have you tried it? Does it work?

EDIT-> it seems that phone shares the location services setting with watch. Disabling on phone will disable also on AW ;/

Is it possible to choose in app to use always internal AW GPS?
Currently the only solution to have notifications displayed during activity with AW's internal GPS is to include LTE data. Every time you connect to BT it will switch to Iphone GPS.

Somewhere in this thread I wrote a proposal for Apple to implement an API to let watch app developers choose the GPS source and also a config setting for users to decide.

In current version what is the best option for current pace? Pedo, GPS, from Health?

The watchOS Pedometer system, which should be the default. When there is only a choice of GPS or Health then the current pace from the watchOS Health system is usually better.

For cycling I see that there is GPS and Health available. Is it better for cycling to use AH for current speed or leave as it is default (GPS)?

There isn't much in it so take your pick. I prefer Apple Health but either way it is mainly using the GPS.

There is currently no concept of following a route. You can show it on the map by going to the Settings and tapping Route and then selecting the route of interest. It will then be shown on top of the map and you will get alerts when you deviate from or return to the route. In the future I will add turn by turn navigation and various route following metrics.

Did you plan to upload workouts to different platforms? An upload to Runalyze.com would be cool.
You can export GPX or TCX files and upload them to most systems, including Runalyze. I tend to leave direct exporting to apps like HealthFit and RunGap because I do not want to write lots of code to handle all the different systems when there are already apps that do that. I only added it for Strava because it was requested more than all the other systems put together.

If I do add it for any other systems in the future then Runalyze is probably the most likely because they offer an email import mechanism. I could include this in the app by adding the ability to send an email with the workout attached to a configurable email address with a configurable title. It would be great if other systems offered such a simple and generic way to upload workouts.

Hi !
I have a suggestion for a new feature when navigating from a gpx file. Ability to display navigation by elevation profile with information about remaining ascent and current elevation.

This is in my plans for when I improve the route functionality. It won't be in the next version but is top of the list for the following version.

Another crash with battery 10% with the AW... I tried the 3 hours charge and the 30’ several times but no issue.
Problems come one workout on two... very annoyed
Any other idea ?

Hi @cfc, and thank you for making such an awesome app! I know it's been requested before, but I'd just like to add how great it would be to have the ability to switch easily between sports. I'm training for my first triathlon this summer, and this app has quickly become my go-to for everything.

Also, I'm not sure if this has been requested before, but would it be possible to use the phone as a display alongside the watch? I'm thinking specifically for biking, having all the awesome WOD data displayed on the phone while working out would make it possible to use the phone as a bike computer for those of us on a tight budget. Since it would essentially just display the same things that are already on the watch, maybe this wouldn't be too difficult to implement?

Lastly, are there any plans to incorporate some sort of running power algorithm similar to what the Power2Run app does? Even if it's not as accurate as a Stryd footpod, it would be another awesome addition!

Have you updated to the latest version of watchOS? As I say this is a very rare bug in watchOS that Apple are aware of so it is worth making sure you have the latest version. You may also want to get in touch with them to see if they have any advice.

Multi-activity workouts like triathlons, swim-runs etc have been on my to-do list for several years because I assumed that they would be popular. However they are actually very rarely requested and so have dropped down the list. Sorry about that.

Showing the workout information on the iPhone for cyclists with a handlebar mount is a slightly more common request. In the long term I plan to extend the app to being able to work standalone on the iPhone and that would be a logical step in that direction. So I plan to do it at some time, but not in the near future.

No-one has ever asked for power estimates before. I may look into it after the Stryd metrics have been added but I would need an explicit algorithm to implement because I do not have the ability to create one.

Thanks for the feedback!

Is there a way to get a timer on the pause screen? Example would be running 800 meters at mile pace and then wanting a two minute rest where you are walking or stretching. So you would not want it to be a recovery interval, but you do want to know when the two minutes of rest is up...

Is that possible? And if not, has it been requested ever?

The only app that I know that does that is the Nike Run Club app, but only if you select that you want a speed run.
