How are you certain? Any source? I ask, because it’s only been rumored briefly that 3D Touch won’t be for the 2019 iPhones, but the same was that about the 2018 iPhones and 3D Touch was still in existence for the XS.
Would be surprised if the 3dt was removed. Apple doesn’t seem to remove flagship features.

Whose to say that the 11 will have longer battery life than the XS series?
Except for the outlier, the XR, Apple usually designs the battery size so the phone can run a set number of hours based on their desired criteria. For example, if their goalpost is 12 hours (based on some proprietary test) then they'll design the battery size to hit it.... but not more.
It is not without precedent for them to shrink the battery on future generations compared to the previous one if it can hit their goalpost. The iPhone 8 did exactly that.

This is one thing that a lot of people miss or don’t think about. The intel mobile modems suck. They’re just not good. There’s a reason why they shut down there mobile chip business. The truth of the matter is that I know a lot of people see as Apple can do no wrong. “No matter what they put out I’ll purchase it”. Trust me I used to be that way. I have upgraded to EVERY iPhone EVERY YEAR. Yes I had the 5c and the 5s. I also have the XS Max and the Xʀ. They both use intel chips, but to be honest my Xʀ gets better reception than my “4X4 MIMO” XS Max. Why? How? It all starts with the mobile chip. The 4X4 MIMO does us no good if the mobile chip inside the device is garbage. That’s what intel modems are. Even the biggest Apple “sheep” has to see the writing on the wall. Apple had no choice but to settle with Qualcomm or risk losing even more market share. I’m on iPhone person. I can’t bring myself to go over to Android. I have tried. I tried the Note 8, the Galaxy S8 plus. I even tried a OnePlus 6. I have not tried any Pixel devices as of yet, but I do see how improved Samsung has made there UI with OneUI.

As far as the iPhone 11 or whatever it may be called... I’m not sure yet. I’ve said that a few times though. I planned on passing the 7 and keeping my 6s until the 8 came. That didn’t happen lol. I got the 7. I got the 8 and 8 Plus when they launched and I also got the iPhone X when it launched. However I feel a little different this year. My XS Max is practically brand new as I’ve used it maybe a total of 2 months since I’ve had it. I used it for the 6 weeks prior to the Xʀ and I may have used it a total of 2 weeks since then ... MAYBE. I like the screen size of the Xʀ. The 6.1” display seems to be a perfect size to me. The Max is not like overly huge or anything, but I like the size of the Xʀ more. While I believe the XS Max to be the best iPhone that’s a apple has ever launched.. I do also find it disappointing. Due to the reception issues that came along with it (I realize they’ve been “fixed”).

I feel like if Apple adds some good features to the iPhone 11 then enough people will buy it. I feel like Apple Pencil support would be great for the iPhone. The 3 cameras will be great I’m sure. I don’t care for the setup, but they will be great cameras. Apple will always have there “loyalists” such as myself, but how many of those could be thinking like myself? I’m not sure to be honest, but as of right now I feel like I won’t buy another iPhone until they have Qualcomm modems.

I’m an Apple loyalists as well. I used Android until the 4S, and have been with Apple since then. 2 years ago I joined the Samsung Insights program, and got to try the Galaxy S7 for free for 6 months as my main device and it was hell. I can’t see myself going back to Android. I currently have the XS Max and have been experiencing dropped calls more now that I talk to my coworkers during our 8 hour shifts. I hate the intel modems and can’t wait to have a Qualcomm modem, so I think I’m going to wait out this year until the Qualcomm modems return.

I’ve reached an exhaustion point of tech needing to be pretty or ground breaking. I nearly don’t care anymore. If it works great I’m happy.

Believe it or not, ‘consumer exhaustion’ really is a thing, where you have a tech Product upgraded annually, and the price points suffocate the technology, because the consumer doesn’t feel the need or see the need to want to upgrade to something when they spent so much money on the current device they’re using. And like any Apple product, it’s expensive, and that’s partly why consumers can’t justify the means to upgrade an iPhone every year, given the inflation of cost.

It can have 5 cameras on it, the issue is how the software processes the image. Look at the pixel. 1 camera and takes the best photos out of any phone. Google has mastered the software on image processing especially at night. Same with Samsung.

Until Apple...
1. Allows more than four icons per row, especially in the bottom row.
2. Has number row on their keyboards.
3. Has haptic feedback on their keyboards.
4. Gets better cell phone and general call quality connections.
5. Updates their calendar app.
6. Learns to attach images from Android. 10x easier.
7. Has better search bar function. No search bar possible on any screen. Are you joking?
8. Has better battery life
9. Fixes their utterly ridiculous notifications panel.
10. Instead of always having to go all the way to the top of the phone make it possible to just go from anywhere on the the screen to both access the Control Center and see notifications.
11. Adds LED light for notifications when the screen is off and an icon at the top.
12. Removes the notch.
...I'm not buying an iPhone

In addition it would also be nice to get to see the battery percentage at the top at all time.
But it's not a deal maker. However on a phone with such a bad battery performance it would come in handy.

6s did the same thing also, though it could be argued that it was due to the haptic engine taking up more space.

Yes ! I NEED that wide angle lens.
I can finally ditch the bulky zeiss wide lens mount I’ve been using.

Interesting post. Makes me wonder what drives you to an iPhone forum board in the first place.

Happy with my Xs its at 98% capacity battery wise, it does the thing I use it for most and thats make phone calls, no drops or oddities with signal here in the UK on EE with the intel chip, but with 5G rolling out I'll have a look in 2020/2021 till then I'll keep using this phone.

I have found i don't really use the camera as much as I used to, but low light improvements would help as the Xs is appalling in dim conditions with video and FaceTime. Still none of these phones are in my view worth the price, jumping from a 7 to a Xs did not feel like over £1000 of improvements, but it did make me worry about its longevity being made of glass. I think Id probably be happy with a Pixel 3a style phone maybe, I like the idea of plastic over glass and aluminium, less fragile and I really don't care about 'the premium feel' hell its just a phone after all and I primarily use it for actually calling people.

I was here to do a search and read about the absolutely despicable call quality (sounds like the old 80's Motorola brick phones) call connection (people getting dropped where other phones, Android, with same carrier are fine) and bluetooth connection problems (you practically have to be on top of the phone for it to work for some) of the XS and the XS Max.

Came across this thread in the mean time.

My XS Max has none of those issues. Next....

All I want is 2x battery life in the regular 11 over my X (99% health) and I’ll buy it in a jiffy.

My iPhone 8 reception and call quality is spectacular. Always has been. Does it have Intel or Qualcomm?

The LED light for notification is literally the most juvenile, pointless and annoying feature imaginable and sums up Android perfectly

Also the notch looks really good, much better than a punch hole design as it’s more symmetrical. And much better than the notch on android phones which just scream cheap for some reason

Also the battery is incredible on the xr
