I hope to live to see the day when the future iPhone will have:

  1. Absolutely full screen display like the OnePlus 7 Pro (with zero notch)
  2. Zero flicker 500+ PPI display
  3. Good connectivity in low signal areas
  4. Excellent call quality
  5. 6GB or more of RAM
That's all.
Funny that these things are the basics (except maybe a flicker free hi res screen) but they'll likely never show up on an iPhone. Instead we get AR, animoji and more and more lenses.

The LED light for notification is literally the most juvenile, pointless and annoying feature imaginable and sums up Android perfectly

How so? I have a business and I have a kid. A notification feature of some sort would let me enjoy my time with my kid because I would know with a glance from across the room if I need to check my phone or not. I wouldn't have to check my phone constantly. How is that juvenile?

I’d say the majority would disagree with you, let’s be honest, the iPhone isn’t perfect and there are a lot of things that android has that iPhone users would like to see, and an LED notification light would be an advantage versus illuminating the whole display. Not also would it help save battery, but it’s just much more convenient. I don’t think ‘juvenile’ is the most appropriate term how you’re applying this, especially being LED notification light isn’t something Apple will likely do, but it doesn’t mean that you should dismiss it because you don’t believe it’s a necessity.

Like most of what I've seen, I don't care about the back. I'm looking forward to what they are going to do with the 3 camera setup. 85% sure I'll be upgrading.

It depends on what model you have:

A1863 (Qualcomm)
A1905 (Intel)

I’m not sure. Settings - General - About doesn’t say A**** anything.

But it does say “MQ7F2LL/A”. Not sure if that helps.

Also the notch looks really good, much better than a punch hole design as it’s more symmetrical. And much better than the notch on android phones which just scream cheap for some reason

Also the battery is incredible on the xr

Not very juvenile and pointless when you have hearing problems.
Then it's good to see the blinking light.
I would argue that a reply like yours is juvenile.

After 4, 5, 5s, 6, 6s, 7 and X... i will pass again this year one if the rumours came true.

Mainly, no great innovation on last ones, the price is became prohibited, the iOS don’t upgrade properly, the camera is not enought comparing with cheaper concurrents (i like the size, it seems the Max will have better camera again)...

1. I’d rather take the notch than the stupid mechanical pop up camera. Besides, notch on iPhones has a purpose for FaceID, not just cosmetic like the rest of Android phones.
2. What’s the point of 500ppi on such a tiny screen? Are you putting your phone right in front of your eyeball? Higher PPI means more power consumption. Anything over 300ppi is already overkill for a phone without any real tangible returns. Even high PPI Android phones offer lower resolution modes to save battery. PPI is the new megapixel.
3. Should be better when Apple return to using Qualcomm modems.
4. Never have a problem with iPhone (or any modern phone for that matter) call quality. Most of the time, the issue is on the carrier side.
5. When you feel you need more RAM on your phone than a computer, something is wrong. 4GB is already a sweet spot, even for Android. Anything more at this point is just marketing for you to spend more money. I’d rather Apple keep improving the excellent RAM management of iOS rather than increasing price for more RAM.

You only see Animoji, but you fail to see the improvements Apple made on the Ax chip every year.

From a design point of view the pop up cameras on phones are things of beauty and very innovative. I can’t imagine they are very practical though and must surely introduce a mechanical failure over time.

Can we get rid of the notch already? Until they do that I have no interest. I would actually consider an iPhone (something I haven't really meant in years) if they fully removed the notch. Also please add Pro Motion. They should have added that last year. I can understand that the 11 isn't ready to have no notch yet, but I really hope the 2020 iPhone finally moves past it.

My issue with the current crop of phones is
1. Notch (for some reason it bugs me to no end)
2. Poor cellular connectivity with weak signals
3. PWM flickering of their OLED displays (eyestrain)
4. Lower resolution of the XR LCD display (eyestrain)

Until that mess is taken care of, I'll be using my old Plus iPhone until it stops working- then get another used one.
I fear I may have a loooong wait.
I had issues with 2 and 3 on my Max. I don’t expect much difference since they will still be using Intel modems. But if they can fix that pwm flicker, I’ll upgrade for the camera.

If I still can’t use their OLED model, I’ll take the update to the Xr.

I don’t care about notches one way or another. And the overall aesthetics are passable.

These people don’t have internet at home? I can’t imagine why someone would stand in line when they can simply wake up in the middle of the night on a pre-order night and be done with it.

Several years ago I was in flight at the magic hour. Delay was several weeks when I landed. Able to reserve one at store several days later for launch day. Had to stand in line at Southlake store that morning waiting for them to catch up on appointments

Yep. I've also slept right through my alarm to wake up at some ungodly hour to order the phone. That meant missing launch day if you don't stand in line.
