Yes... This is same one I received, only it doesn't work. What makes me the most upset, I can't get a response from the company. Not from email, not on kick starter... No where. I'm happy yours works, I wish mine did. I love the look and feel, but the customer support is horrible. All I need is the adapter replaced. :(

Hi, Daremo! I purchased the same cable via FT; I am set to receive them in two weeks or more (depending on my country's bureau of customs). I've been studying the same product for awhile now, and noticed they started selling it already in various online Chinese marketplace (usually for wholesale, but sometimes retail).

I also noticed that a lot of people are not getting updated/replied to on their Kickstarter page, I find it weird because they respond to the comments on their Indiegogo page though. I found their contact details on their web page; you can try to reach them via skype (live:baseus-world), you can also check their website at base-us.com to verify the skype name.

Personally, I'm excited to receive my baseus usb-c cable. Hoping mine would work.

Just received the Baseus.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1234664819/baseus-worlds-fastest-magnetic-usb-type-c-cable

At first inspection it's the real deal. Materials look solid, good packaging, minimal footprint, magnetic force seems just right. It just works.

Naturally i've just opened it...it could crack open in a few hours, but honestly it does not look like that. At the moment it looks like i have my MagSafe back (except for the minimal footprint and no red-green light. honestly insignificant issues vs. the benefits)

Hello, Vannibombonato. Will the cable work on the 15" macbook pro? Noticed the cable is only at 86w. Thanks

If i remember correctly the Baseus is rated 1W less than the 15'' Power Adaptor. I would assume that it won't be a problem as its slightly more than a 1% difference (1/87W). There are people using the Griffin with the 13'' , which i think is also 1W less than the 13'' power adaptor, and have no problems (and the % is higher as the power rating absolute number is lower).

For 15$ i would not even think about that and just try it, i don't think there's any chance you will damage the Mac in any way.

Still, please understand that the above are purely common sense ASSUMPTIONS and i have no specific technical competence in power ratings and the likes. Again, i would personally go ahead but it won't hurt to ask someone with some better technical competence.

Hmm, thanks for the reply. I'm excited to receive my package, hoping it would work great. I heard many great reviews about it. Will respond back here for my review.

Thanks for the info! I will try via skype!

That Baseus cable seems pretty awesome - that is probably the single thing I miss from the old MBP... of course I never got the Znaps that I backed for my phone awhile back (which I totally forgot about) - I guess it might be worth waiting to see what the outcome is with this one as far as their reliability

The big problem with all of these is that it takes up one of your USB-C ports. And the non-touchbar 13" MBP only has two to start with!

At least with the old MBP the MagSafe had it's own port... separate from other ports.

Yes, I have. Well, this one, actually, but it's the same product (though for whatever reason mine was $27): https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B074P5F3QW/ref=ya_aw_oh_bia_dp?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I like it so far but it's a little short (I didn't notice the length when I ordered it but I'll make do). It's a great idea, for sure, and the braided cord alone is a vast improvement on the stiff Apple original cord.

Question: do you guys know if the Apple power cord supplied with the 2107 MBP is a fully functional TBolt cable? Like for data and everything...?

I bought the Baseus mag cable from Amazon. Used it all last night and was amazed....then when I woke up and hauled my MacBook Pro to the living room for my morning browsing the cable was no longer functioning...I tried it in my other MacBook Pro 2017 to no avail..its totally dead in less than 24 hours.

I requested a return. Very sad because while it worked it was like a miracle.

same thing happened to my cable. makes me wary about ordering from indigogo or kickstarter

I ordered another Baseus from Aliexpress. This one worked, perfectly. I tried the OLD cable, and the cable was good, so it was the adapter that failed. It worked for 2 days. I came out to a dead Mac. The adapter lasted 2 days and died. I've given this company over $60 now and the refuse to respond through ANY media. I can only warn people to STAY FAR AWAY FROM BASEUS.

I bought Baseus on eBay from UK seller and completely doesn't work out of box. I tried with MacBook 13 and 15.

I just backed this project from Vinpok https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/bolt-world-s-1st-usb-c-magnetic-cable-for-macbook#/.

They been sending cables to YouTube reviewers to review already and so far looks promising. They also claim it can charge the 15" Macbook Pros as well at regular speeds. They're expected to start shipping them this October

Here's one from Unbox Therapy

Really looking forward to seeing some more youtube reviews and especially user comments here on this one. This is the product I have had my eye on to be the magsafe replacement.

Hi there,
reporting back after 2-3 weeks of Baseus. Worked wonderfully, then yesterday stopped working.
I would guess that some chip inside has burn or something. I won't even bother asking them for a return or anything, when you pay 20$ from a small chinese company shipping something out of Taiwan i guess you accept some risks, at least i did.

Obviously the quality isn't there, and i must admit i'm a tiny bit less mad at Apple original accessories prices...

I have backed this. Two cables. I hope it goes to plan and doesn't go AWOL

I had some gigantic clumsy fool try and pull my Pro off the table by tripping over the power cord, pulled the cord right out.

I'm not recommending anybody try this, but after you've used the USB-C ports for a while they become a little more loose, and I think that a hard tug will pull the power cord right out and leave your laptop on the table.

I bought this thing...I can use all my old magsafe power bricks I have collected over the years + cinema display power.

http://www.elecjet.com

So this just came in and its real. Can use all my old magsafe bricks + cinema display magsafe to power any USB C device which is cool.

Only issue with it is that it can only charge...it wont hold a "topping off" charge unless the battery drops below 100%. Still not bad for 20 bucks and being able to use all my old magsafe stuff.
