Exactly.. if you go back a few pages in this thread I told psean he was crazy and posted my ship/order date to prove it.

psean gave me 2 months of imac goodness...

I'm seriously pissed right now at Amazon which is too bad because up until now I've been a huge fan...
And I worried that I was just making people mad... Way to go, you guys! :)

Apparently they decided to give priority to everyone who PAID for shipping with those who chose overnight and 2 day shipping the first shipments. It didn't matter when you ordered. If you decided to pay and pay more than anyone else for shipping they bumped you up in the line. And preference is given to amazon credit card purchasers as well.

Wow what a load of BS! Man I'm glad I was impatient and paid for overnight shipping. Geez...if this is how they treat their customers, this is the first and last machine I get from them, in spite of the savings on tax and the rebates.

Whatever happened to "first come, first serve"?! No way is it right that someone who ordered yesterday should get it next week and someone who ordered Oct. 12 gets it in December.

my 500g hard drive, 1.5g ram, 20 inch world domination imac has finally shipped, woohoo! it is about time as i ordered it hours after it was announced. so i guess the old 17 inch g4 imac's days are drawing to a close although i still think it is nicer looking than it's soon to arrive g5 cousin. i will just have to console myself with the massive performance increase and screen size i guess: D :D

Garry - I really hope you are right about us getting the iMac next Tuesday as when I phoned Apple a few days ago they said even though it had 'shipped' it wouldn't actually be with me until around the 14th November

I just hope you are right...

Thanks,
Mark :D

Well I'm not the authority on the subject, it's just that from past experience, nearly everybody receives their item 5 working days after the ship date, which I reckon to be Tuesday.

Unfortunately my iMac still seems to be in China and if my theory is correct, it should move tonight! If not, I guess it'll be around the 11th - that's what date the website predicted for me before it shipped.

well, Nov 4th is almost over and it still has not shipped from Amazon despite it saying the 4th as the ship date. It says delivery date of the 8th though via 2 day shipping so I'll give them till tomorrow.

Can anyone else get onto Apecode?

I can't, seemed to stop working yesterday evening. Too many people checking on their iMacs?

I'm in the UK and have a Stock 20" I ordered with Apple Education on the 16th October.

According to the Apple Tracking Page it arrived in Amsterdam yesterday from Shanghai and, if my iBook is anything to go by, it will now be sent via TNT to my house! :D

Not long now.

My order on the TNT website has now been 'stuck' at the following status for 5 days !

01 Nov 2005 21:27 Shanghai Shipped From Originating Depot
01 Nov 2005 09:54 Shanghai Consignment Received At Transit Point

This is getting really frustrating ! I wonder why it is taking so long to ship to the UK ! :(

Still no movement either here. Since the Apple Store and TNT are closed on Sunday there's not a lot we can do but if there's no movement by Monday morning then both Apple and TNT will be getting a phone call each.

I ordered my iMac on the 17th October. It's looking more and more likely that it's going to have been a month before I receive it ... over a week to ship it! Unacceptable really. Poor delivery really takes the shine off buying something new. :( Even a little note on the tracking screen saying, "Scheduled for Transit to Arnhem on 7th Nov" would keep me happy.

Wooohooo it's shipped

Well the new 20" imac has finally received the coveted ups tracking # and should be here on the 9th or 10th. :) We ordered from Amazon on Oct. 28th, free shipping. Seemed like a long wait, but not too bad.

I'm in exactly the same place. TNT website says the same for me. I guess our iMacs will be getting on the same plane. I'm glad it's TNT all the way from Shanghai though as I've ordered loads of stuff from Apple in the past and Kuehne & Nagel takes a bit longer I think.

Hopefully, since it's TNT all the way this time there won't be any handover delays.

Pffff, my iMac is has now been with TNT in Brussels since Friday and they tell me they won't deliver until Tomorrow, maybe even Wednesday.

This is really awful - Apple make a big deal out of the free delivery on their stuff but the service is apalling. Maybe if they said "Free delivery (but you'll have to wait f*****g aaaages for it)" and then offerred an alternative then that's OK but for orders to Belgium no other shipping options were offerred.

I'm very dissatisfied.

I've just phoned TNT to ask what is happening... They have said that they believe my iMac should now be in the UK though they are not sure why the tracking system doesn't show this. When I asked when I would receive the delivery she said she wasn't sure as she didn't have any up-to date tracking information herself since the end of last week

She is going to email the depot and find out what is going on with this delivery - she will phone me back.

If you do phone Apple or TNT today can you please let me know what they have to say..

Thanks,
Mark

P.S. the number for TNT is 0800 100 600

I just called TNT and they were surprisingly helpful and extremely polite. My TNT tracking page currently says...

04 Nov 2005 00:10 Shanghai Shipped From Originating Depot
03 Nov 2005 16:48 Shanghai Consignment Received At Transit Point

However, over the phone they were able to tell me that the iMac will arrive on the 9th. All they asked me for was the consignment number.

Cool, I should have my iMac in two days :)

I've been stuck on:

Shipment Picked Up SHANGHAI, SH, CN 03 Nov 2005 12:30

for the last 4 days, really annoying! How long do these things usually take? I know I've been quoted as 7-10 days but I was hoping for something quicker.

Can't check TNT yet, as they don't recognise the number, so I'm assuming they only update that when they get their hands on the package.

New Order ship times?

I was just about to order a new iMac G5 20 inch from either MacMall or MacZone. Has anyone ordered from these folks and been informed what the backorder time, if any, is?

Thanks!
Mike

Hi Mark,

I've just called TNT. My Mac (and I assume yours?) is in Amsterdam at the moment (scanned at 16:27) and mine should fly to Liverpool this evening. Barring any delays at customs it should be delivered tomorrow! I don't hold much hope though. I think it's more likely it'll turn up Wednesday or later.

The TNT system seems to be delayed by a few hours though. Given that my iMac was only scanned in the Netherlands 25 minutes ago I should be able to see it on the TNT tracking page in a few hours I guess.

The woman I spoke to at TNT (Jane) was friendly and knowledgable ... She certainly didn't seem to be guessing anything or placating me.

Can you please let us know when your TNT status page updates with the new info as I'm hoping mine is on the same shipment... if so our pages should update at the same time.

I spoke with TNT again this afternoon. They say my iMac is in Amsterdam and it should come to the UK tonight. If everything goes as planned then I should receive it tomorrow (though I doubt this)..

Garry - it seems like at least we are being told the same thing.. My TNT tracker hasn't updated either..

Maverick - if anything happens on my TNT tracking page I shall post it here..though currently it says my iMac is in China

Cheers,
Mark.
