The Good & the bad

Good news: delivery expected on Tues 7th (apple website says 9th)

Bad news: contrary to what salesman told me on the phone, I CAN'T intercept my MBP at the depot until they attempt 1 delivery!!! Now, all my flatmates seem nice enough, but its a sharehouse and ultimately, I don't know any of them from a bar of soap - although we get on well, £1600 is a lot to trust virtual strangers with...

Could get it delivered to my work, but Fri 10th is my last day...so if something happens and it gets pushed out by a few days, it'll get delivered to my empty desk.

The third & safest option is in some ways the worst: Apple can put a hold on delivery until a specific date week after next -- more waits!!

argh! I'm impatient, so I guess i'll just trust my flatmates and hope for the best. How are they packaged when they arrive...is it a plain package, or does it have EXPENSIVE LAPTOP written all over the box?

Did you get the Shipping confirmation email from Apple? I think the apecode tracker doesn't work until after its actually shipped, and can sometimes take a day or 2 to update itself.

Yeah - got the shipping email from apple (finally!) - maybe i'm just being impatient!

Mate I am in the same position, :(

Mentally picturing my little baby sitting there at Shanghai airport, passport in hand waiting to get on the plane to come and see daddy for the first time. I want to cry as well.

May need to form a support group soon.

maybe just give it some time, i think it can take a while. Some of the ppl in the apecode forum complain that it sometimes takes a while for their shipments to show up on there.

But someone on that forum also pointed out that if your order is ONLY the laptop (ie no mouse / applecare / other bits to "merge in transit") it can be sent with TNT directly. So maybe check their website?

I got mine at half two today, and just playing away on it just now :) these are awesome, glad I waited. And it is sooo fast. The simple things are great, opening anything is faster, start up is noticeably better than my g4 systems.

My status on good old Apple Tracking has now changed to a simple Departed From Source and ETA forward a couple of days to 6/11. A little less information would be helpful:)

Mine shipped yesterday and is still at:

03 Nov 2006 11:00 Shanghai Shipped From Originating Depot

I wish the bloody hurried up and chucked it on a plane. Its like agony waiting here without it. I should have just held out and waited for it in the shops :(. Will hopefully go on a plane tonight when its daytime in Shanghai, and will be in europe but saturday night.

Does anyone know if TNT ship during a sunday, not deliver but continue to ship, eg will drive accross europe during a sunday. I suspect not :(. Ive got a ETA of the 8th, but hoping to have it before that. Whichever day its out for delivery, im pulling a sickie :D.

Also, does anyone know if the time on the TNT website is in local time (in this case Shanghai) or GMT?

Can anyone tell me how long it takes (With TNT) to change from Shipped From Originating Depot to the next stage? Its been at that stage for a while now, and im not sure what it means. Someone I know is also that stage, and hes been that stage for 3 days, and its very frustrating.

I'm not one to whinge, but its all quite frustrating isn't it? My status on Apple Tracking(which I'd have no idea existed were it not for visiting this site) has changed from Flight Departed to a simple Departed From Source. Meanwhile, Apple Store site gives no info at all - just a 10th November ETA - which differs from K+N who say ETA 6th November. I called Apple Store and got a 10th November response and no further details.

I'll admit to an element of impatience on my part, but the lack of knowledge, updates of any description from Apple and general slowness of delivery is becoming slightly annoying.

Limit yourself to only checking the tracking page once a day. Do something fun with the time saved.

Well, my C2D MBP was supposed to be delivered Thursday (TNT). I was unavailable that day so I called TNT and arranged delivery for Friday (yesterday) they said no problem at all and even double checked the delivery address. No one came and after hours on the phone, TNT says it is in some airport in China!!!!!

I am fuming!!! My wife took the day off to be there all day yesterday.

The Apple site says:

Shipped 29 Oct 2006

Estimated Delivery Date 02 Nov 2006 (Subject to change)

Current Delivery Status In Transit to Customer - Shipment Delayed 02 Nov 2006

No info on TNT's tracking site, only says "Please Call"

I have been on the phone today to both Apple and TNT and they are both unable to tell me anything about the whereabouts of my order, but apple took my money OK on October 24th!

What do I do now???????

Not that it helps you guys waiting delivery but they are definitely here. I called into the Apple Store regent street on Wednesday 1st to see if there were any demo models out and a moment of credit card weakness later I was out with one in my sweaty palms.

I would guess that the 'be in store by this weekend' I was getting from various suppliers sounds about right.

..... and jolly nice it is too :D :D

We're all so impatient these days. Wasn't long ago that every mail order company was "allow 28 days for delivery", during which time you just sat there and waited. And that was just for stuff coming out of a warehouse in the UK.

And now we sit here refreshing our order status screens, impatient because the supercomputer they're building for us in China hasn't arrived at our doorstep in under two weeks.

Progress, eh?

No progress since Thursday :(

same here, saxondale...I think we're definitely in the same boat (or plane / truck as the case may be...).

My appletrack just says (as of thurs) "booking slot obtained" with an ETA of last Friday. I called up apple/UPS on friday to talk about things, they didnt have it yet but seemed pretty sure that UPS would get it on Monday and try to deliver on Tuesday. Fingers crossed thats still the deal - I hope our shiny new 'puters aren't still sitting on a dutch warehouse somewhere :)

saxon: I think a few others are in the same boat, the forum on apecode has a couple of people complaining about the same situation. They all report delivery of the 9th, but obviously hoping for sooner! The last dude reports that his carrier has been updated to K&N...and now that I look, so's mine! woohoo! (I dont know if its a good thing or not, but progress is progress :) )

I know have a carrier tracking number (starting RTML) and estimated delivery date is the 3rd (so Friday...).

I dunno if this means we can expect it before the 9th, or if it just takes time for Apple to update the info on their tracking page.

Don't think K&N operates during the weekend. No update whatsoever on my tracking since Thursday. My hope in getting my MBP this week vanish to the thin air now!! :(

What was your last update? Are you stuck on the "booking slot obtained" as at Nov 02? A couple of ppl on apecode seem to be in the same situation, nobody really knows whats going on. But if you are, check the status on the apple page...there's been an update, but I still don't really know what it means...
