Sprint is CDMA.
Sprint?? Correct me if Im wrong but isnt Sprint CDMA?? It can only work with GSM....
Waiting for iphone 2 after the worldwide beta test.![]()
personally, the thing has too much crammed in a tiny container.
I predict people will be investing lots of money, but also lots of time. many tears will be shed and lots of anger generated when:
1) they lose it
2) they break it
3) it just stops working.
Those that buy it will see how this device will do nothing but complicate their life instead of simplify it.
That's my personal opinion. I'm sure many people will get lots of use/entertainment/situations where they are thought to be paris hilton, and I am glad for their positive experience.
I'm praying!
Yet, still no details on if it has a removable battery or not. I am guessing it doesn't, otherwise why would they keep something this silly secret.
Few details have been leaked about the phone itself, beyond the original specs described in January.
I hope that someone hacks it to work with Sprint.
I'm praying!
Here's a question I have that I have not seen asked yet in the many iPhone threads here. Will insurance be offered for the iPhone through AT&T or Line Lock who cingular currently uses? I have Cingular/ AT&T and I have a Blackberry 8700c I had also considered buying a treo a year and I half ago when I purchased my blackberry. Sadly I found out the Cingular does not offer insurance on it's smartphones. Let's hope their is an insurance offering for an iPhone. My contract just ended last month so I could easily get an iPhone if I had the money for one.![]()

Importantly, do we think the 3.5mm jack will support plugging the iPhone into your TV (like the iPod video)? Thats a massive selling point in itself!
What about the standby time? There is no mention of that
I can't believe that it doesn't have a video camera. Honestly -- the most basic phones these days have those.Every single phone on the market has vibrate. I WILL have vibrate. I can't imagine it not having vibrate. And no vibrate doesn't use any battery unless it's constantly vibrating.

Um, it's a GSM phone. It lacks the radio required to transmit/receive from a CDMA network (Sprint). "Hacking" the phone so it can work on Sprint would mean replacing the entire circuit board.
Can't wait to use my Sprint iPhone 5.0 with iWork and iLife Mobile, and .MacMobile![]()
In theory any SIM card put into a GSM phone will work as a phone. What does not work across carriers is things like email, Web, MMS, and in the case of iPhone one would assume Visual Voicemail.
So if your a Tmobile player, and you someone get your hands on an iPhone, sure you can use it as a phone and an iPod, but the phone will be crippled until someone figures out a true "unlock" which I say will be unlikely.
my 2 cents...

Steve Jobs has already said the phone will not be subsidised. $1,000 is untrue.Hi,
Well, I was listening to the "Apple Phone Show" podcast, and they say that you can buy the phone out-right for just under $1000. So, that clearly means that the SIM slot MUST be user accessible so that the user can put a SIM in later down the track.

Yep. It will be impossible to make it work on a CDMA network. No software hack can modulate/code and the difference in frequencies. I was reading the spec sheet for the chipset used in the iPhone (cannot remember which) and it only supports GSM.Um, it's a GSM phone. You are obviously not married.....
Release is all too similar to the SE p990. When announced it had top of the range specs, but once it actually shipped it was doing the same thing as every other phone.
