Nop.. too many issues with iOS. I’ll keep my 14 pro until it lasts and then look around for something more reliable.. which it is probably hard, but I can’t stand Apple software anymore
I voted no.
Currently using an 12 PM and it will probably be my last iPhone for a long time.
And the reason for that is what you say, the software isn’t good anymore.
I have been using iPhone since the iPhone 6 so I’m not new to the iPhone and iOS.
I have to restart my iPhone 2-3 times a week (using iOS 16.4.1) and also my Apple Watch 2-3 times a week.

On the other hand my iPad and my wife’s MacBook Pro is on an another level.
I restart my iPad, and my wife restart her Mac, when it’s getting new software. So there you have a premium price for a premium product.

Of course I know that Android isn’t better, but imo with iPhone you pay premium price and get a midrange product.
So why not buy a midrange product and get a midrange product?
Im not talking about the hardware, it’s the software.

Since the latest price hike in Europe/Sweden I don’t want to buy a iPhone 14 Pro Max 256 GB for 1800$.
It’s just not worth it anymore🙂

I’ve been getting an iPhone every two years for many years, so yes, probably. I mainly want to have the new design with the Dynamic Island. Putting me off though are the rumors that the phone will be even thicker and heavier than the 14 Pro and will come with the biggest camera bump ever. I would like to see the phones aim toward thinness again in the future.

I may already have said that my iPhone 12 Pro has what I need in terms of general functionality, apart from slight concern over battery.

I did wonder whether I would upgrade to the 14, doubly so wrt the 15, for the yet better camera capability.

Over the years, I've been using the camera on the iPhone 4/6/7/12Pro. Having liked the upgrade in camera each time and enjoyed taking shots and learning something of photography, I've been considering taking the digital camera route instead of that move up to the iPhone 15.

Bit that bullet last week with a s/h Fuijifilm X-T2 and pancake lens combo. Not cheap but an affordable experiment. Lots to learn. Also, altho' it is a ready carry, I'm quicker on the draw for the 'gotcha' shots with the iPhone than the Camera.

There is a 45 day return policy, so I'll let you know in six weeks time ;)

It depends on what features get announced, but right now I haven't seen any real reason to upgrade from my iPhone 11 Pro Max.

I won’t upgrade. I have the 14 Pro. The next phone I would consider is the 16 Pro. I’ll most likely upgrade at the 17 Pro, however. My small business could afford to pay for a new iPhone annually, but I got upgrade fatigue (lol, I know) after upgrading annually from the 3g to the 7 and have been on a three year cycle ever since.

If they offered a new mini model (I know - they will not) with all the high end specs (again - never happening) it would be an instant buy for me.

Yes.

Currently using a 13 pro.

Very interested in a titanium frame lowering the weight of the device.

Also, 3nm chip leading to greater efficiency.

I know it’s early to ask this question, but I am interested to see what everyone is planning on so far. Some people upgrade every year, some people might be holding on to a much older iPhone but are holding out to finally upgrade this generation, or maybe there’s a specific feature some people have been waiting on.

Rumored features (some may be Pro-only):
  • USB-C
  • Action button replacing mute switch
  • Periscope camera lens (5-6x zoom)
  • A17 - First 3nm Apple chip
  • 8GB RAM
  • WiFi 6E
  • Qualcomm X70
  • Titanium frame with more rounded edges
  • Slightly smaller body with same screen size
  • Smallest bezels of any phone
  • Red color
  • Higher price
On the other end, iPhone upgrades have never been so incremental, and it’s financially and environmentally smarter to hold on to your perfectly functioning iPhone now.

So, as of right now, are you planning on upgrading to the iPhone 15 series? Why or why not?
Yes because I'm on an iP11PM. Was gonna get a 14 but things didn't work out and we didn't get them. Looks like the 15 will be the better upgrade choice at this point anyway.

I will upgrade if the following are included in the iPhone 15 equivalent of my iPhone 14 Pro Max (whatever it will be called):
1. USB C (almost a certainty but I am wary of the limitations Apple will put on the connection based on MiFI certification e.g. restricted charging speeds unless it is MiFI certified).
2. Reduced weight (possibility that a titanium chassis will reduce weight, but then they may increase weight with extra battery capacity).
3. Increased battery life (will have to be done on efficiency grounds and not by putting in a larger battery which increases weight).
4. Reduced overall size for given screen size (reduced bezel size).
5. More robust build. Will not self destruct if dropped without a case.
6. Improved optical zoom (this is not really important, but the times when the only camera I have is my phone, this would be a nice to have, but is the least important of my wishes).

I suspect this list is wishful thinking. I do not need a faster phone or a better screen or a better modem etc. What I need is a better handheld device for me. I understand that other people have their own priorities but the current trend for small and largely irrelevant improvements year on year is very disappointing. The best feature of the iPhone 14 Plus Max I have now is the satellite communications which is revolutionary if not a must for most people.

Eh, my 12 Pro is doing fine. I recently got Apple to replace the battery (before the price hike), so it'll keep me going for a long while. I'll upgrade when there's more improvements than just USB-C.

Definitely gonna be upgrading from a 13 to a 15 non pro 6.1 in the most out there colour. Decent amount of upgrades from a 13 and could do with more storage

My iPhone XR is still going but this is the year my wife and I may upgrade. Laggy everything is starting to become an issue in our day to day, which usually means it’s time to upgrade for our own sanity.
XR was a fantastic phone on release and for years after but yeah probably about time to upgrade now

Not sure yet. It will definitely depend on what changes are made, and also if I decide to go with a pro max (I was on the fence last year and sometimes wish I’d have made the leap).

If they round corners, or slim it down, that might push me over the edge - I’m not a huge fan of the boxy square. The USB-C would be a bonus, but I probably wouldn’t switch just for that.

I actually plan to upgrade my 13 Pro to the 15 Pro Max due to screen size, USB-C, AoD, and better battery life. The processor, cameras, aren’t likely to represent anything that noticeable and, for my purposes, are at the bottom of the list of reasons to upgrade. The other features are going to represent very tangible benefits for me.

Weird though because I find macOS to be the real tragedy when it comes to software. I have all kind of issues ang glitches on both platforms but macOS is for me far worse than iOS.

I won’t upgrade for the principle.

Maybe - I'd be interested if they slimmed down the camera bump a bit. My 14 Pro is still like new, so if I do decide to upgrade, it will be a purely "because I wanted it" decision.

I have had my iPhone 11 128 gb since November 2019. I’ve taken my phone everywhere traveling since and shot lots of pictures. I feel like the improvement in camera as well as picture quality is significant enough now, plus I want to try 5G network.

I really want to try the apple upgrade program and try it for 2-3 years. I want to get myself a new iPhone 15 pro this year and upgrade to iPhone 16 pro the next. After that I’ll probably just stick with whatever iPhone I have when I stop using apple upgrade program for the next 4 years.
