SE is an awesome product. I can't knock it at all.

And when you pick it up, you instantly remember everything you loved about iPhones in the beginning. It just feels great in the hand.

So true. When I started using it I was instantly reminded of how good and easy iPhones used to be to use. It's instantly comfortable and familiar, and makes anything larger feel so uncomfortable and awkward.

YUP. I went rogue. As of an hour ago, I ordered a 128GB Space Grey iPhone SE. It arrives tomorrow and I'm actually quite excited about it.
Hope you really love it. I replaced a dodgy iPhone 6s+ with an SE several months ago and I often still smile to myself when I pick it up, throw it in a bag or tuck it in my trouser pocket. £1,000+ for a telephone - never, ever, ever!

PS I bought and use an Apple leather case but occasionally (once a month?) I take it off and give the phone a clean. Then go without the case for a whle, change the wallpaper; feels like a new phone. Just thought, every 12 months you could stick it back in the box, seal it up and 'unbox' it next morning. Have fun:)

Any of you new SE owners got good screen? aka without the yellow screen problem...
As much as i loved the SE, i had to return mine due to this problem, and now i cant find\get the 32GB version anywhere. :(

I never had an issue, and I bought it as soon as I was able to order one.

I look quite fondly back on my silver iPhone 5S, recalling how I drooled over how gorgeous it looked and felt the day I bought it. It was hard for me to let the 5S go when I upgraded to the 6S Plus. Don't get me wrong, I now LOVE my 6s Plus, but it took a lot for me to let go of my one-handed, perfect form-factor, 5S.

There's just nothing like having a phone that you can completely operate with one-hand, whether it's walking the street or even while riding a bike. It was the last phone (besides the SE) that you could completely & easily get your thumb up to the Qs & the number change key.

Now that Apple seems to keep the internals of the SE beefed up, it's quite a compelling phone to consider going back to. The 5S/SE are rock-solid pieces of kit!

At this point my 6s Plus is still going strong, and I'm breaking my 2-year upgrade cycle as I expect to hold out for next year's X (which, at least, is a smaller form factor compared to the Plus models).

I think its good to have a case for peace of mind, and certain scenarios, but I’ve used my SE 99% of the time without a case

Its the inverse for my 7+ and 6s+ and 6+ I had before that

The size and ergonomics dont eliminate any possibility of dropping it, obviously, but its way easier to hold imo

Congrats on the purchase, in any case (no pun intended)

No doubt it's easier to hold than the 6, 6S, and 7 Plus I've owned. Yesterday I ordered a skin for it - this should protect from surface scratches while keeping it "naked" in the hand. I will try that out for a bit once I get it!

The official Apple saddle brown leather case is the best!

I've got the (Product)RED leather case - love the full coverage and it feels awesome in the hand

I do this exact same thing lol

Got my SE yesterday. Definitely easier to hold. Typing may take some getting used to, as I have had the 6 Plus for 3 years. Enjoying the smaller form factor and light weight/profile.

TBH, I am a little tired of drawing attention to myself by having the latest gadgets. The SE is low profile, and I am hoping Apple bring out an iPhone X version with a 4.7" screen next year. Face ID will be a little more established, the phone won't be as novel and obviously will include better enhancements.

I own a 128GB iPhone 7 Plus in MB. I did the trade in estimate on Apple's website, my phone is worth $425; which can go toward the 128GB iPhone SE, and I'd only end up paying a little more than $25 + tax for the SE. I've never owned an iPhone smaller than a Plus as I jumped on the Apple wagon with the 6 Plus in 2014, but always found the 5 and 5S very attractive. Hmmmm.....Decisions.

I love the SE, but going from a 7 plus to the SE seems like big downgrade. I’d hang on that 7+ until next year.

Not entirely the same, but i got a 6+ wanting to downsize to SE for same reasons. Sick of big phone.

Only thing i'll miss is camera if i decide to go SE instead of 8+.

It took me a day or so to re-acclimate to the keyboard, but now I'm finding that I type more accurately than I did on my 7 Plus. I haven't gone out in public with my SE yet; when my friends see this, they probably aren't going to believe their eyes. Lol. They all know me as always having the latest Apple tech.

I sold my 128GB 7 Plus for $650 on Swappa. Granted, it was in mint condition as though it had just come out of the box. But you will always get more selling on your own and the market will be busy right now with those folks who "upgrade" around this time by going for the model that's a year old. It's like trading your car in at the dealership out of pure ease vs. selling it yourself to make the extra cash. Easier with phones; I'd consider putting it on Swappa and seeing if it'll go. I imagine you'd be able to get at least $550 for it..$125 more than Apple is willing to give you. And FWIW, I don't regret jumping from the 7 Plus to the SE. I actually am wondering why I waited so long to make that move.

I love the SE, but going from a 7 plus to the SE seems like big downgrade. I’d hang on that 7+ until next year.

I guess it all depends on what's driving the move. For me, it was a size thing in combination with wanting to go back to the basics while I wait out Apple's next offering. The SE does everything I need/want it to do. Plus I'm back to one-handed use and can slip it into ANY pocket without issue.

I'm wondering why the Plus downsizers go straight to the SE and skipping the inbetween model.

To me the in-between model is also uncomfortably large to carry. If you're going to get uncomfortable, might as well get the Plus as you then have bigger screen and better battery life. I actually think the SE is also a tad uncomfortable. The smaller size was better for pocketability.

Really what Apple needs is an SE-sized phone with full screen (or smaller bezels) and thinner.

I did it. Sold the 7 plus and bought an SE. I'm tired of having $800-$1200 in my pocket. The android world has embraced the mid range under $400 phones and the SE is a perfect answer to that. I can stay in the iOS ecosystem and not feel like I'm paying a car payment for poop emoji animations.

For me it was about size/comfort. I don't get one-handed use with the 6/6S/7/8 and nothing feels more comfortable in my hand than that square-ish 4" form factor. And, to be honest, the bell/whistles of the other phones aren't worth the premium price tag for me. The SE does what I want, it's zippy, and it packs a 12MP camera.

What's the best SE color? The rose gold is looking fun to me. Gold second. Opinions?

I've always been drawn to the Space Gray models. I think a black bezel looks much cleaner against the screen.

I really didn't like the form factor after the 5s. The 6,7,and plus's were never comfortable compared to the 5s and earlier.

Welcome to the club, Jeff! I assume your SE will arrive tomorrow? I've had mine less than 24 hours but I've never felt more convinced I made the right choice.

That was one of the deal killers w/ the SE for me (I tried one). The other deal-killers were the thickness/fatness, the small screen (too small for web browsing, which is required), the graininess of the screen after having used the Plus, and the on/off button on top, which I find less ergonomic than on the side.

Battery life was great.

Thinner SE with full screen (smaller bezels) would be the ticket.

The bells and whistles yearly upgrade bonanza has to stop at some point. This is the year to send the message that enough is enough.
