Got the X two days ago. Wanted to hate it for some reason. .
Why would you want to hate it?

My only guess would be that you didn't mind returning it because of its ridiculous price?

That or you got sucked into the many 'hate' threads of whiny keyboard soldiers, overblowing negatives that they can't deal with (some legit, but most just rivers of tears).

The next sentence in the post you quoted said they loved it. What are you talking about?

If the rumours are true and prices are reducing this year, it seems the X did not do as well as Apple expected it to. $1000 for the X Plus sounds a lot more palatable.

What are you talking about as if they will come down that much.
Kuo is generally never wrong. The X is 800-900. The X Plus is $900-1100. The budget X will be around 700 bucks. My own anecdotal observations is that the old design still dominates wherever I go and it's not good for Apple that their latest design and tech is the hands of very few customers. The 2018 iPhones will need to have a higher adoption.

Yep, I’m not seeing big drops though, Apple only ever drop about $100 off old models when a new one releases. And new ones always go up a bit, especially here they use the old dollar is weak excuse.
[doublepost=1528796903][/doublepost]Well if what ever his name is right, for those of us that upgrade every year we need to be selling our X’S and using a cheap Used SE for the next 3 months, used X prices will tank.

You do realize that there is over 3 1/2 years worth of 6,6s,7, and 8 iPhones out in the public compared to just over 7 months worth of iPhone X. It only makes sense you would see more of the old design.

Picked up a 2nd hand 256GB X on eBay for £800. Loved it, at first, but found the FaceID to unlock thing irritating. Sold it and bought a 2nd and 7+ for half as much. Much happier now.
End of story.

Not to mention the old design is still being sold and is popular due to affordability. I think we’ve got another 3-4 years before we see a shift in most common design.

I'm one of those weirdos who needs the optical zoom on the camera because its much better for taking videos of kids playing sports but hates the size of the 8+. Because of this I am keeping my X but I really hate Face ID. It works maybe 60% of the time vs 95% for touch ID. No amount of entering my pin after a failed scan seems to have improved it either. All phones come with trade offs, and I am making that for the camera, but I still feel face ID needs a rethink in future phones.

Giving me the option to have it open to the home screen without a swipe would also be nice. Replicating the place thumb on touch ID sensor to open.

That's true but you would expect that after 6 months I would see more than 10-12 iPhone Xs out there in the wild.

Hopefully a lot of your pain will be resolved with iOS 12.

One thing to also take into account, the X has OIS for all aspects while the 8/8+ does not.
Found that out when I was testing. Personally I felt it was a short change by Apple for the 8/8+.

Face ID works like 99.99% of the time for me. Just redo it and see if that helps. I also never wear sunglasses and hats. Touch ID be it on an iPhone or whatever fingerprint scanner on Android always worked for me but so ? Face ID just makes it easier imho

Maybe 80% of the time for me. It never worked when I was in bed.
