Ya know, I have had some interesting things going on. I made a bunch of changes to my router settings and just could not get things playing well together. I then even put Tomato firmware on my router, and while that helped me with the incorrect password issue, it messed up my throughput quite a bit. I then put the stock firmware back on and set it up as I had before (only have the 5ghz radio on as my router’s 2.4ghz performance is pathetic), WMM enabled, beamforming enabled (implicit and explicit), but using a short preamble.
After I did that yesterday, my devices were connecting perfectly with zero issues and I was very excited. However, this morning I left my WiFi range and came back, still with no issues but 20 minutes later, my phone disconnected from WiFi while on Safari, the popped up and said incorrect password, exactly what happened last time!
I’ve been suspicious that this has something to do with iCloud Keychain, so I did some troubleshooting. I went into my iCloud settings and toggled iCloud Keychain “Off” and went through the prompts to “Keep Passwords and Credit Cards on my iPhone” etc. this is when I found another, possibly related bug. After about 5-10 seconds, the iCloud Keychain toggle turned back on. Tried going through the steps to turn it off again and once again, it turned itself back on after said time. Anyway, I then went back and tried to connect to my network, put in the password, and it worked!
Been connected for an hour now with no issues. This imo confirms that my specific issue has to do with iCloud Keychain. Found the “cannot turn off iCloud Keychain” bug in the process.
