Beginning with iPadOS 14, when I read my email using the native mail app on my iPad Pro (12.9-inch, 2nd generation) in portrait orientation, the unread mail count in the upper left hand corner of the screen does not change after I’ve read an unread email. (In contrast, in each email the blue dot next to the header disappears.) The count only changes when I exit back to the list of emails in the inbox. Updating to iPadOS 14.2 did not fix this. Neither did a force restart.

Has anyone else seen this bug after updating to OS 14?
Yep! I’m on 14.1, but it happened on earlier OS 14 versions too.

(However, Mail.app on iPhone, the unread count in the upper left corner changes correctly as soon as a new email marks itself as read.)

A while back there were rumours that Apple is making a self-driving car. As they can’t get working what I’d expect to be simple things for coders, such as a clock widget to keep the correct time or an email counter to reduce correctly, count me out of using their self-driving cars if they become a reality..!

Starting with 14.2, my iPhone X occasionally wakes up with the clock widget frozen (showing the time I last put it to sleep, I think). The World Clock app still runs and shows the current time. I haven't noticed a specific trigger, and it's incidence was and is less frequent since a day after upgrade.
Reported.

I on my iphone xs, every time I reset it, it takes at least 7 to 10 days to learn the charging patterns. I see this process slow and inefficient

Thank you , I’ll wait and see...

If you think about it, it is logical that it takes a week, as you might have a different schedule during the week, compared to the weekend.

Here’s a bug: 14.2, Safari.

A thin black horizontal line appears on all webpages and resizes based upon the zoom level.

If this is supposed to be a feature thit’s pretty lame, I don’t need an indication showing my my zoom level as it’s obvious.

Is anybody else having any problems with the same Siri suggestion app widget? Mine is suggesting apps and I’ve told not to suggest, and also check it in the apps under Siri shows that they are set to not suggest.

Also, long pressing on the app and choosing “don’t suggest” does nothing

14.2 iPhone 11, randomly not getting message notifications when they come in.
I'm getting the same on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. Gonna try and revert back to iOS 14.1 for now. Been happening since 14.2 RC and its frustrating.

Yes, same issue. It won't let me remove an app and not suggest it again. Who in the heck decides what apps should be in there in the first place? Apple? Can't be Siri because she obviously isn't paying attention to my frequently used apps and sticking apps in there I seldom or never use. Sheesh! What a cluster that widget has become. I like that widget and had it set to apps I actually used. After last update most of those were no longer there and I couldn't remove anything. Removing the widget and reinstalling does nothing.

I’m having the same issues. Very annoying

With the lockdown here the only significant locations are going from the bedroom, living room, kitchen or bathroom :(

Is anyone else seeing a change in how mail is shown in the Apple mail app? Since this last update, any email with two words shows backward. For example, I have a Google Alert email sent each day. Usually, it shows in the preview screen as just that, but now is showing "Alerts Google". Wireless Verizon instead of Verizon Wireless, etc...

Looks like someone else is reporting the same issues here: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/name-display-in-mail-issue-since-14-2.2266544/

Yes, but that would have been known when was designed. It will be checking to see what your schedule is like and then work out when to use it.

It's not the locations, but the time you do those things, like go to bed, get up, put the phone on the charger, take it off the charger, etc etc etc.

It is the locations also. Such as home or work. If not in one of those (like while on vacation somewhere) it does not work. That is by design, even though perhaps it SHOULD look at things like alarms and charge and wake patterns.

I was hoping that after transferring from one phone to the other this data would also be transferred . It was working fine on my XS .

A couple times in the last week after a reboot, I see a new voicemail from a day ago or so.

New bug

Seems to be a bug with lock sound. Randomly lock sound will be a loud click instead of the usual lock sound. After playing any sound such as music, the lock sound will revert back to normal and honour the set volume level.

Can someone check and see if they are having issues with safari iCloud tabs on 14.2. For some strange reasons the tabs are updating very slowly.
Same issues here with iPad Pro, iPhone 12 and MacBook Pro. All tabs are syncing super slowly.
