Maybe so but I can’t be the only person that is getting fed up with having to put in my passcode every time I unlock my phone .Ridiculous statement
It's labeled as "public" for me, but I'm not on public betas in (what I would call) the "traditional" sense. Last summer, I got one of those emails from Apple with an invitation to the "AppleSeed" program. I'm not a developer, but with that invite, I'm getting "public" betas at the same time developers get theirs.developer or public beta? I am on public and I don't see it yet.
Beta 8 is outMaybe so but I can’t be the only person that is getting fed up with having to put in my passcode every time I unlock my phone .
Not in the slightest bit surprised ?Beta 8 is out
I confidently confirmed. Ta!Confirmed or your speculation? I agree btw, RC on 420 (smoke weed everyday).
Android has had Bluetooth device unlock for ages. ? The apple equivalent doesn't even do much else other than detect the watch is on someone's wrist, same as android.
Yes. Apple was supposed to predict that we would be wearing masks, engineer, execute and deploy a fairly difficult hardware solution…before masks were even mandated.
Ok
Not necessarily. Today’s release could be a Release Candidate, but just not labeled as such. The event on the 20th probably has some secrets Apple’s isn’t willing to let by, so I’d assume there’ll be another release a week from today, too. It’s possible THAT could be the official release, or they announce that as being the RC build with the official release coming either that Friday the 23rd or maybe the following week on April 27th or 28. All still in April. So we won’t see the public version until May ?
I used to have an Android Nexus 6 phone for testing, and that included the Smart Lock option. At least for me, it notoriously never worked. I’m glad Apple’s taking the time to get this right.Android has had Bluetooth device unlock for ages. ? I don't like it either. But I also don't like having to unlock my door with a key, shave, prepare food and lots of other things. But I don't complain about them either.Maybe so but I can’t be the only person that is getting fed up with having to put in my passcode every time I unlock my phone .
LOL. Want to stack the security of the Android model up against the Apple version? I'll wait.Android has had Bluetooth device unlock for ages. ? The apple equivalent doesn't even do much else other than detect the watch is on someone's wrist, same as android.

No, public will launch either same week as the event next week (my hunch), or the following week or so when new hardware that requires iOS 14.5 hits stores. So we won’t see the public version until May ?
Never knew someone with a duck as their profile picture could be such a savage lolI don't like it either. But I also don't like having to unlock my door with a key, shave, prepare food and lots of other things. But I don't complain about them either.
Just trying to inject a little reality here. We have in our possessions devices that before the turn of the millennium would have been thought of as almost magical. Now they are so commonplace that we complain about them. Step back and appreciate them and consider them works in progress.Never knew someone with a duck as their profile picture could be such a savage lol
Absolutely agree with what you're saying and I agree with your stance in a few of your previous posts. Some people will complain no matter what. If 14.5 had been released sooner and the watch unlock didn't work as well, people would complain about it. Now that Apple is taking their time to polish the software, people are still complaining about it. These guys talk as if they're master software engineers and could build a more stable OS in a matter of days. Some people's expectations are just insatiable no matter what, there's no appreciation for progress & refinement whatsoever!Just trying to inject a little reality here. Must be. iOS 14.5 launching next week. No, public will launch either same week as the event next week (my hunch), or the following week or so when new hardware that requires iOS 14.5 hits stores.
I will be the first to admit that I can come across er, shall we say, poorly? at times. Believe it or not, I do believe Apple can screw things up and they do screw things up. And its ok to be unhappy about it. But be reasonable about it. Don't expect miracles (especially during a pandemic, for goodness' sake!) and don't level criticisms about how they do things that you (not "you" but you know what I mean) wouldn't want to hear about how you perform your own job.Absolutely agree with what you're saying and I agree with your stance in a few of your previous posts. P.S. I have to admit, it is the epitome of savagery to have a duck as a profile picture and roast these 'master software engineers' left & right. Hats off to you, my friend.
Ah but there is no security issues with any of those things .I don't like it either. But I also don't like having to unlock my door with a key, shave, prepare food and lots of other things. But I don't complain about them either.
House Keys are pretty complicated things to duplicate. Not as hard as some Car Keys, though.Ah but there is no security issues with any of those things .
I haven't really come across any I disagree with.. So far.Now...about those posts where you DON'T agree with me....
