iOS 14 Release Speculation

Reckon it’s way to early for a GM release, leaning more towards the end of the month, even if they announce the apple watch series 6 today, doesn’t mean it’ll be available straight away, they could release it in 2-3 weeks when the software is ready, or push out a minor iOS 13.8 update just for the new watch features in the meantime.

They can‘t mix and match watchOS to previous iOS versions. If the new Watches ship with wOS 7, they need to also release iOS 14 day and date.

There will be bugs when iOS 14 is released, no OS is big free.

At the end of the development cycle , betas often come without any logic , sometimes even 2 in the same week , so anything is possible today

Based on this, I will amend my earlier post and say

-Event: 9/28
-iOS 14 GM: 9/28 or 29
-Phone preorder: 10/2
-iOS 14 public release: 10/7
-iPhone 12 in store and delivery: 10/49 (typo: thanks @Cobold !)


I’ll say 2 more betas: tomorrow and a week from tomorrow

Store availability usually is one whole week after preorder starts. So my guess is Oct. 9th for in store and delivery.

The one thing to temper our excitement: there is a (small, I think) possibility that the event on 9/15 is NOT the iPhone event. I think that unlikely, but it is possible.

that would be strange, september event without an iphone... even iphone x had an event in september with it being released in november
