Shortly after updating I went to use my camera and it appeared locked or not able to open. I did a quick iPhone power off/on and when it came back on, I had a message saying, "Unknown Part - Unable to determine if your iphone camera is a genuine apple part. This could be because the part is non-genuine, not functioning as expected, or the installation is incomplete."

The camera appears to work fine as of right now and I have never taken my phone in for repair. Has anyone else come across this?

What iPhone?

No issues here.

I'm not sure if it's a car play issue or my car, but I sometimes get up and down arrows as if my car had a touch screen (it doesn't).

I don't see this issue on my 14 Pro.

I enabled Stolen Device Protection while at my house. I went to see what happened if I tried to disable it and it said I needed to wait an hour because it didn't recognize my location. I have home automations that run when I’m home so I know that works, so this just seems broken.

I guess I just found a bug on the watch app on my 15 Pro . When setting up Modular face on the phone , the center complication (Like Conditions for me) stays blank on the app . It does show up on the watch though ..

So with the Stolen Device Protection, can I now disable the screen time passcode I had set up as a temporary fix to keep someone from locking me out?

Wait, what is it that you did exactly with screen time passcode? And how does that prevent someone from locking you out?

“How to use Screen Time to stop thieves from messing with your Apple ID”

To start, head to Settings > Screen Time > Use Screen Time Passcode, if you haven’t set one up already. Make sure it’s not the same passcode you use for your iPhone, since we’re going to assume a thief knows those digits already. Jump to Content & Privacy Restrictions, and choose down to Account Changes. Punch in your Screen Time passcode, then choose “Don’t Allow.”

When you return to the main Settings menu, you’ll find your name is grayed out at the top. Not only have you blocked access to your recovery key settings, you’ve blocked access to anything having to do with your Apple ID.

The "screentime" thing was debunked in the original thread that discussed this security issue.

I didn't follow the procedure as I never bothered to try to set it up in the first place, but it's something like: you click "forgot screentime password" then "forgot apple id password" and you eventually end up back where you can reset everything with just the phone's passcode.

At least, that was the last I read on the topic - maybe that was then debunked later :)

The new 17.3 stolen device protection does the job.

I can’t believe the Home app is still so messy when it comes to displaying artwork for things that are currently playing via HomePods.

ah i see, it's very rare for me to have this bug

Since iOS 17 (or 17.1), have you had lags in the control center with the volume/brightness bar? or sometimes the control center animation is jerky when you close it too quickly? @hurt97

That thread seems to be in agreement that the issue is with WhatsApp. So seems WhatsApp developers need to address it. Doubtful an iOS update will but its possible I suppose.
They are wrong, it happens on Telegram too, someone said it also happens on Signal. It seems unlikely that three unrelated apps would have the same problem in their codes.

This bug started with iOS 17 for me, I've never had it before.

Edit: Here's someone saying that he has the same bug on all his messaging apps.

There is a workaround actually, if I select the word the corrections appear just above it. But it's annoying to do that each time.

In Photos, any photo that shows "Home" as the location at the top of the photo changes to my town name if I tap the "i" to see info on it. This wasn't happening previously. This only happens on my iPhone and iPad. My Mac (14.3) doesn't do that, though some (but not all) changes synced over to the Mac.

There's no way to fix this as manually changing the location to my Home address (which it already was) puts the town name in. I can still search for "home" and find photos at home (at least for now), but this is annoying.

I wonder if this is related to the Weather app doing much the same thing. If so, this may be some sort of privacy move by Apple.
