For me it’s the Home app which is suddenly taking up 8 GB of space. If I try to delete it, it refuses unless I remove all my HomePods from my account.

For me it’s the Home app which is suddenly taking up 8 GB of space. If I try to delete it, it refuses unless I remove all my HomePods from my account.
I can see the printer in the apps and use it (MS Office and Acrobat / Readdle) but not in the HP Smart app.

Weird I can see mine and you can't. Have you checked Settings->Privacy->Local Network and have the HP Smart App enabled in there?
I do like the printer. I got it primarily because I don't print that much and got tired of the inks drying out, lol.
There's something weird going on with iOS 17 when it comes to used space by apps. There were few people (myself included) that had problems with apps using more space than on iOS 16. For example, in my case instagram went from around 2gb to 5 and overall available space went down from around 50gb on iOS 16 to 20-30 on iOS 17.
The weirdest thing is that for me the available space constantly changes. Yesterday I had 25gb left, right now it's at 21 even though I didn't take any pictures or whatever. Well, actually I deleted some so
I think it might now be showing cache data for apps now. I have the Blink app and it went from using a few MB to using 50 GB because of all the cached videos. I signed out which removed all the data and it dropped down to a few MB again.
Cache data might have previously been considered “system data”.
I just checked and all looks good in settings.
Next step - delete the app and reinstall….
yeah I was worried from that comment so I changed my phone for the first time on Ios 17 and all seemed to go well. I don't think this is a bug going around

I believe its settings>general>about that requests a carrier update if there is one. Also @StophMac24 , perhaps a DFU restore may help if you cannot do a regular restore. No erase needed. (of course you need a Mac or Windows with iTunes for this) Guess you are trying the erase and restore directly on the phone?
Updated to iOS 17 yesterday.
Today, I can’t make FaceTime calls over cellular. I initiate the FT call, it rings on my side but recipients never receive the call. Conversely, people can FaceTime call me, I receive the call but when I attempt to answer it gets stuck at “connecting” and never does.
14 Pro with T-Mobile.
Got on the case escalated with Apple support. Spent a few hours on the phone but we have not been able to resolve.
Anyone else seeing this?? I’m at my wits end.

Yep I'm having some issues with Mail also. It's seemly randomly selecting what it wants to download.
Turn off and on ur phone. That fixed the problem for me.
There’s clearly something weird going on with the available space on ios17. Yesterday at 6pm I had 21gb available and today and 7am I had 34gb and I only deleted 5 pictures, I didn’t restart the phone.
There are also people on twitter/x reporting that they lost 10gb or more after updating to iOS 17.

Strange - this morning the size of the ‘phone’ app has increased further to 2.5gb with no new voicemails or calls. In fact I actually deleted a load of old numbers to see if it reduced and it actually increased!
I had this issue starting on the early official builds of iOS 16 on my 13 Pro. Random SOS all over town. My wife noticed it also on her identical device. I ended up updating in recovery mode on 16.3.1 and haven’t had the problem since. She hasn’t brought it up so I assume it’s fixed there also.
I’m currently on 16.6.1 considering installing 17.0.
Updating/reinstalling the OS can reduce the storage used. However, the longer you keep your phone powered on, it will increase because it could be saving cache files depending what you are doing on it. You can try to power off the device for about ~ 5 minutes and you should see a decrease.

Yesterday at 6pm I had 21gb of the space available, today at 7am I had 34gb and I just checked right now and I have 24gb free.
It constantly changes but it’s not by like 1gb, it’s literally more than 10gb and I’m just checking apps or literally sleeping.
The available space increased in the night by 13gb and then decreased by 10gb.
I do understand that the used space will increase the longer I use the phone without restarting but how’s that it increases and decreases by more than 10gb every few hours?
There’s clearly something going on if it changes like that all the time.
Edit: I just restarted the phone and the available space decreased to 19gb even though it should increase, right?
